Honestly the original sounds like a beta track without thr riffs. Sounds incomplete tbh. Like despite X6 being rushed, this song clearly sets a vibe of a post apocalyptic world, exlporing the ruins of damaged world.
I love this theme, it perfectly matches the situation. You're in what used to be earth, you're venturing through a wasteland trying to save an earth that already died. The music is exactly somber enough to match the mood. The last remnant of your greatest friend in hand, you push forward to fight for a lost cause, trying to save a future that may not even exist.

One of the best intro themes in all Megaman X games. You can really feel the post apocalyptic feeling this theme portrays and X’s grief over the loss of Zero and this never ending war.
This song fits the intro stage so well, it replicates the feeling and atmosphere of the area, as well as what's going on at that time so damn well. I love it.
I loved X6 so much, it followed a basic super hero rule: "you can't save them all" and it's not because all you did was in vain, it's because sometimes the burden of an entire planet is too much for a few people who on top of trying to avoid disaster, have to deal with a bunch of rebellious assholes doing things much worse. When you begin the game, you feel so much of this and the Maverick Hunters are still trying to make things better despite the horrible catastrophe they couldn't avoid, they never stopped believing they could do it.

Sometimes while playing a game, you discover gems like this track here, And you carry them with you for the rest of your life. Video game music is sooo underrated.
You could play this during the pandemic, it was so empty outside, it felt like abandoned ruins. I worked during those times and the drives were weird but convenient.

I played X6 a lot whenever I'm bored, and it's a fun time, but the level design is so terrible due to the rush to release this game gets. Like some level's cameras are really janky making spike traps more lethal since you don't get to see where you can land safely, some levels don't try to make challenge to gain parts (Weapon Center is just bruh moment), the second Gate level doesn't know whether it want to decide to make players use Shadow Armor or Blade for X, etc. X6's level design is probably the worst one in the series, but I have to admit even I had fun playing them. Is it infuriating sometimes that the levels are designed the way they are? Probably yes. But if we're talking about pure fun factor of the game, I feel like some people would enjoy spending their time on X6, while some would absolutely hated it, and that's fine. Not everyone can enjoy the same experience, really, but I think if they made it better, it can please more people.

I've been recently playing X6 again but with the fan-made improvement patch and even though the tweaks are minor, there is a world of difference and I've been enjoying my time with it way more than I normally did.
This music hits me every time. I remember the days where I just start the game and just let the music play in the background. Used the play the game a lot from x4 to this when I was 10. Now I'm 30 and I'm thinking of playing it again. This music was too advance or to futuristic for that period

Ever since i first played X6 i noticed how this song sounds more melancholic than the other games, as i play the stage, in my head X is thinking "I went through this shit five time already. Why is this still going? Will this fight ever end? how many more will i have to kill?" And then the more bombastic heroic but still sad chorus comes in, and he's like "But i gotta keep going! i still gotta keep figthing!"
The giant colony crashed and the nearby cities got vaporized to a miles-wide diameter crater with debris and an enormous wasteland around it. The explosion caused a serious and sudden change in the atmosphere and temperature for months. Oh man that's really deep...

Truly a masterpiece. This OST in particular was ahead of its time. Capcom really captured the sound of a post-apocalyptic era. Same goes with the rest of the X series. But this one is illlllllllllll ty capcom.

I played a lot of X6 as a kid and I definitely found it to be very different to the other Xs in my mind, X4 was (in my opinion, since I was too young to really understand how the dub could have been a lot better) the absolute masterpiece and the pinnacle of the saga, X5 a good sequel, felt different had different strenghts and some unforgettable boss fights, and then there is this game. Starting up, I didn't really care for the story as I was a bit young and didn't really had the patience for the long cutscenes, I liked how starting up it felt way different than 5 and while I admit that most of the bosses were not that all memorable, I remember the gameplay being difficult and at times unfair, but I enjoyed it, now I realize it was due to a lack of polish and its something that the Zero saga was able to do a lot better. As a kid without the readily accesibility of the Internet I was able to find out how to unlock Zero early, how to fight Dynamo and HighMax and basically how the game worked from a players perspective, I am proud of having beaten this game before, and while it's definitely the least liked one of the PS1 trilogy, it has a special place for me, It's an acquired taste.
Its bitter sweet melody matches the feelings of X after the apparent death of Zero so I got excited by this even now that I know how broken and visuallly muddy X6 is.
I was DEEPLY disappointed when I played this stage in X Legacy Collection 2, and it didn't have the guitar riffs. It just sounds incomplete to me. Hurt even worse considering the old collection on GameCube/PS2 had the riffs.

Well, the guitar version is the Overseas Version. The original one didn't have it in the first place, so...they didn't remove it, just used the original one.
@@DestinyZX1 You won't be happy to know that they butchered the sound quality of Moonlight/The Answer even on the Japanese version unless you use the music player which doesn't have the full version of either songs (the collection just uses the intro/ending edits of the Japanese songs in the series.)

This music bring me some feelings about Eurasia Space Station, it's like you feel what X feeling in the beginning of the game.
The giant colony crashed and the nearby cities got vaporized to a miles-wide diameter crater with debris and an enormous wasteland around it. The explosion caused a serious and sudden change in the atmosphere and temperature for months. Oh man that's really deep...
@@soldaluz3116 it's funny zero survive without any damage in your body, in zero saga you can see this, in x6 zero auto repair themself. But it's true.
I remember playing this right after beating X5. The first stage really carries the tone of what X was going through after 'losing' his best friend.

@@gappy3799 There are some decent stages, like Inami Temple and Amazon Area. (Screw that leap of faith, though!) It's when the nightmare effects kick in that really ruins those stages. The infamous darkness nightmare effect happens when you play through the Weapons area, where Infinity Mijinion is.

@@Skellotronix Ground Scaravich, Blaze Heatnix and Infinity Mijinion too. I'd also argue that Shield Sheldon and Gate's lab (and Gate himself) had amazing themes too. The only themes I would say were subpar are Blizzard Wolfang and Rainy Turtloid
Truly a masterpiece. This OST in particular was ahead of its time. Capcom really captured the sound of a post-apocalyptic era.
Same goes with the rest of the X series. But this one is illlllllllllll ty capcom.
I admit this game is a christmas guilty pleassure. Not sure why, I just like to replay it in December-January.

Well, be sure to check out Megaman X6 Tweaks which makes it a lot more better and one of the features is to readjust Gate's damage so you can hurt him with any weapon

As bad as this game might be, one thing that isn't bad about this game is the soundtrack. In fact, X6 is my favorite OST out of any Mega Man X series.
After playing Mighty No9 on WiiU, I notived how X6 and X7 were actually solid games
The international version of this is basically a sampler of what you're gonna get music wise in X6...amazing use of the guitar.
The guitar in the background only plays in this version if I'm not mistaken.

I played a lot of X6 as a kid and I definitely found it to be very different to the other Xs in my mind, X4 was (in my opinion, since I was too young to really understand how the dub could have been a lot better) the absolute masterpiece and the pinnacle of the saga, X5 a good sequel, felt different had different strenghts and some unforgettable boss fights, and then there is this game.
Starting up, I didn't really care for the story as I was a bit young and didn't really had the patience for the long cutscenes, I liked how starting up it felt way different than 5 and while I admit that most of the bosses were not that all memorable, I remember the gameplay being difficult and at times unfair, but I enjoyed it, now I realize it was due to a lack of polish and its something that the Zero saga was able to do a lot better.
As a kid without the readily accesibility of the Internet I was able to find out how to unlock Zero early, how to fight Dynamo and HighMax and basically how the game worked from a players perspective, I am proud of having beaten this game before, and while it's definitely the least liked one of the PS1 trilogy, it has a special place for me, It's an acquired taste.
When you bought that Megaman x Collection, it comes with all these amazing music!
Its bitter sweet melody matches the feelings of X after the apparent death of Zero so I got excited by this even now that I know how broken and visuallly muddy X6 is.
I was DEEPLY disappointed when I played this stage in X Legacy Collection 2, and it didn't have the guitar riffs. It just sounds incomplete to me. Hurt even worse considering the old collection on GameCube/PS2 had the riffs.

Well, the guitar version is the Overseas Version. The original one didn't have it in the first place, so...they didn't remove it, just used the original one.
The no guitar one is the original japanese version, i'm also mad they removed it
Not to mention the opening movie changed
@@DestinyZX1 You won't be happy to know that they butchered the sound quality of Moonlight/The Answer even on the Japanese version unless you use the music player which doesn't have the full version of either songs (the collection just uses the intro/ending edits of the Japanese songs in the series.)
