XD,it was a hard game. On extreme mode its insanely hard. Some maniac did a minimalist run,speed running,taking no dmg with regular x. Check him out his name is hideofbeast.

The Opening Stage theme is deep and sad.. it tells us how X is tired of fighting.
It also has a glorious "wasteland" vibe to it. Wouldn't be out of place as the opening for Fist of the North Star or Mad Max
Makes sense since in x7 he didn't even wanna fight at all until around end game basically. But that game sucked anyway but makes sense on a story standpoint
It more like, tells you how humanity is fucked up, and how hopeless the surface of the earth is
I remember playing it for the first time and felt the game was heavier to play. I know now the control is actually revamped, but I noticed the tone is also getting darker.

I always see these comments. And I think most just hear the synth brass and it reminds people of that song, but if you actually listen to them both together they dont sound that similar at all
@@laughpolice9068 not quite sure about that. Notes aren't the same ones, but the beat and vibe of the song (except the chorus part and solo) follow europe song almost exactly.
Critique for the music
Opening Stage- Certainly creates a mood that otherwise tells that the world we are residing is now in ruins (couple that with guitar riffs that is present in the international version, it's more in a sad undertone)
D-1000- Singlehandedly the most intimidating boss theme I've heard in this series beside Sigma boss fight in X4 (yes, both of them). It's even fitting with Nightmare mother, being a really weird amalgamation of a boss of yellow devil but 2 of them and the pacing of the fight is certainly makes this song perfect.
Select Stage- Not gonna lie, The mood is fitting as well (even though the instruments used, notably the Synth, is a weird addition to me
Commander Yammark- Ambient, perfect when traversing the jungle of course, nothing stands out to me when I listened to this
Rain Turtloid- Arguably one of the moody tracks of the set (other than Blizzard Wolfang) and it's also groovy as well, but with a mix of melancholy with the crescendo. It's my fourth favorite in this entire OST.
Shieldner Sheldon- This music strike out as unfitting and weird, not only the track screams upbeat, but it's also not fitting at the stage that is a level with lasers all over the place. It's still catchy though when you listen to this without context.
Blizzard Wolfang- Oh yes, The ost with one of the dopest guitar riff right next to Infinity Mijinion. This is the "upbringing" music, from the intro screams heroism, but the near end is a telltale story about the maverick itself, falling to the dark side after getting backstabbed. The guitar is what makes this theme to the roof, and it's my third favorite in this game
Ground Scaravich- It's defined technological mess. I will say this theme is my least favorite in the entire game, but it's still high up there since the piano is what carried this theme. Anyway, the theme fits the stage of being a chaotic museum with shit ton of traps, and the boss is hilariously goofy, from attacks and it's appearance.
Blaze Heatnix- Oh yes, it's the first power metal VGM I've heard in the entire video game existence (I might be wrong). It reflects the entire stage (being a fucking annoying sets of the same minibosses and tbe frustrations) but also the characters being straight fire (both literally and metaphorically due to his story). It's the coolest song I've heard in the series and my second favorite in this.
Infinity Mijinion- This theme screams Heroic and also badass, the riffs, and synth, the the beats, it's perfect, I'd say easily toppling several well known VGM themes. Anyway, unfortunately, despite being a weird music to this character, it's nonetheless one of the coolest music, and also my favorite track in this entire game, heck, I'd say the entire X franchise.
Metal Shark Player- It's is the underrated song in this game, it fits to the setting very well being a disposal facility, and the theme says a lot of this character as well being a necromancer of robots. The mixing and the instruments is decent, I'd say not the worst
Boss- Honestly, I find this boss to be sitting in "really good" in my part, it still didn't beat X5 boss theme of melancholy and intense. This one is still good though, even if it's really trying to be badass though
Gate Laboratory- Oh shit, the best final baddie stage, it's so badass and fast pace and the mood says motivation, even though this theme is literally a remix of X2 boss stage 3 theme (or fast paced more clearer variant of it). I'd say it's fitting at best from thr fast paced section of this game
High Max- The hardest boss of them all, not even Sigma could beat this. It's weirdly unfitting (A sonic fan game with this music being a escape sequence is more fitting than a boss fight of the slowest paced boss I've seen). Anyway, It's cool though not gonna lie, intense sounding boss music.
Gate Theme- Another badass boss music to another instance of another slow paced boss fight (reminds me of chess), it literally screams you're fighting the big bad and it's also the mixing is dope (even if it's short).
Sigma First- Reminds me of Sigma Stage 4 of X1, being you're getting close to the lair of the original big bad and also reflects the condition of Sigma.
Sigma 2- It's the definition of final boss, thr tone is intense, almost like emulating a final battle indeed (better than X5 a tiny bit since it also emulates how huge final form sigma is there as well). Anyway, since this is a hybrid of several X tracks (X1 Sigma, X2 Sigma, and a tiny bit of X3 sigma), it will ought to sound really cool.
This is to me, one of the best Ost in the X series (with either X4 or X5 beating it y a really close call).

Rainy Turtloid is probably my favorite. The calmness of the music and scenery, coupled with frustration over the acid rain and those invincible face-covering assface robots, make this song so memorable

This is probably the most aesthetically interesting game in the X series (in terms of both graphic art and sound). X4 comes close, but it doesn't maintain an atmospheric mood as consistently as this game. At this point in the story, the world is supposed to be more or less devastated, in desolate ruins, and this soundtrack captures that fairly well.
+Mysterious Maximus I agree with you on those points, but I was talking about the mood of the levels and the game as a whole, not just that they were in sci-fi settings or that they came with attractive color palettes. I think the art and sound adds up to create a distinctive feel/mood that (fairly) consistently runs through the whole game. It gives the game its own identity; when I play X4, the aesthetics tell me that I'm playing a playstation megaman X game, but when I play X6, they tell me that I'm playing X6.
Mysterious Maximus I didn't say that X4 was unsatisfactory, I just find the aesthetics of X6 more interesting. That's probably at least partly due to my finding the latter's setting more interesting in general, but I also think it sticks to its mood a bit more. Some levels of X4 feel like part of a war, and others feel like they could be in any X game just as well. And the music in X4 likewise doesn't necessarily evoke a mood of 'warfare' in a lot of cases, but X6's pretty consistently nails the desolation mood.
I think it's more the case that I understand what you mean, but we just disagree (and that's fine). However, it's true that a level-by-level analysis isn't necessarily going to resolve the disagreement. I actually prefer X4 as a game overall to X6, and I've played them both fairly recently, so I wouldn't say it's a matter of nostalgia per se. But maybe I'm stretching the generalizations about X6's mood a bit too far, when it's really that I have a handful of examples in mind of when the aesthetics of that game struck me with a certain mood, whereas I have fewer such memorable moments that come to mind with the aesthetics of X4. Of course, your experience may differ since we might find different things interesting or uninteresting about either game's aesthetics to begin with, in which case it's perfectly natural for us to disagree.

X7 is much better than X6, it's actually enjoyable.
Favorite game in the series, the graphics and sprites were so good, I loved Zeros new saber, the moves, the music is incredible, and the insanely absurd difficulty. I still play it to this day

X6 while flawed GREATLY with its unbalanced difficulty and poorly made levels and bosses, I can’t deny I honestly kind of like the game…this OST might be a reason for that

X6 has a lot of value to me and I still enjoy it to this day too. I think X8 was a great return to form for the series as well aside from a few issues that I may have with it. Hopefully X9 is on the way.

I love how 27:47 is a remix of Counter Hunter Stage 3 from X2. It's really something when the motif of a stage whose music is very basic gets turned into something so great.

Como olvidarse de este tremendo clasico que para mi fue lo mejor de lo mejor en la historia de Megaman, X4, X5 y X6 traen unos soundtracks brutales pero X6 por excelencia traia los mas memorables!

Say what you want about X6, but this OST simply rocks. D-1000 and Boss themes almost seen swapped though.The former gives the tension of a boss battle and is played only once while the latter is just a repetitive filler and is played in every boss battle.

cuando era chico y encontré (de pura suerte) a zero me emocione, no entendia ni madre que decían entre si pero fue genial... venia de pasar el x4 y le x5 y no me lo esperaba... que difícil fue este megaman en particular, encontrar todas las armaduras y demases fue un gran desafió... terminarlo fue genial...

I can't believe it took me this long to realize the 2nd Sigma theme is a mash-up of the 1st Sigma battle music from X and X2. There are some musical rearrangements (and part A of the theme from X is repeated and continues underneath the theme from X2), but it's definitely there. Awesome!

+Lucas Hpm I listened all OST of MEGAMANX4-X8 not once not twice - many more and
yes - X6 contain most characteristic original and melodical,
atmospheric, agressive, melodic tracks - so memorable i cant stop
playing and for me X6 is best game from all parts in each aspect -
gameplay - replayability, extras, feeeling of super weapons (like super
flamethower almost as good as super thunder in megamanx1 at elevel up)
Music is like amazing feel up to the graphical images and gameplay so strong like not felt since megamanx1 in my opinion. MEGAMAN X6 is for me best part of the game and at second place MEGAMANX1
John Connor I can kinda agree with that, though X4 is my second favorite and X1 my third favorite.
I would like x6 more, but there's one problem...the level design is saying that the game wants to be a dick to you

no es por fanfarronear pero, es la primera vez en toda mi vida que me entero que para muchos el x6 fue muy difícil.....siempre creí que era por su historia .__. pero en lo personal para mi fue genial! jamas sentí que se me complicara, al contrario, o no se, creo que en su tiempo amaba tanto a X's que no sentía ninguna dificultad xD! ( disculpen, era una fangirl bien lokis por esos años xD )
termine el juego, juntando todas las armaduras, items, etc! No tengo ninguna queja, siempre será mi entrega favorita

Yo tambien me quedaba sin hacer nada pero pq los putos ouroboros no me dejaban pasar XD, este juego era de duro entrenamiento, pero sip, la rola es muy buena, muy nostalgica a su vez.

Nostalgia pura pena que enpaquei na fase depois que tinha que matar o high max. Jogo era difícil pakas como qualquer outro megaman X antes do x7 e x8.

o meu tambem , mds , a primeira fase com aquela musica .... aquelas cornetas no começo dava uma sensação de imensidão
pq que o level design é ruim em ? a unica coisa assemelhada a isso são os bugs de pedaços de metal aleatorios nas fazes que atrapalhavam o caminha, mas fora isso ...

I do love Megaman X4 and Megaman x5 OSTs since they're great and pleasant to listen, but this sountrack is by far my favorite of X games series. Its dystopic and kind of optimistic feelings are simple great.

Apparently, there are two different versions of the opening stage track - only the international version has the guitar riff, the Japanese one doesn't for some reason. And guess which version they used in the Legacy Collection?! >:[
