Lars de Waardt holy cow! all of them in one sitting? glad you enjoyed, with any luck i will have it finished up in a few more months. thanks for the comment.
My grandfather was a shipbuilder, so it has always been an interest of me. I have been thinking of building a boat one day. I think it would be cool to do something with a double jetski engine or a system like that so i wouldn't have to use a rudder. It's a future idea and something that will have to wait until I have done some other things i want to build. I really like the idea of you using mahogany as it's a wood with a beautiful coloring.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else trying to find out glen boats plans try Joolaim Rudder Replication (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my brother in law got amazing success with it.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. This is amazing. Exciting and relaxing at the same time. Beautiful work....Beautiful. Every aspect in creating this masterpiece is explained in extreme detail WOW. You sir are a God amongst men...
Looks great, as always. When you have some free time (HA!) you should put together a video of all the little tricks, jigs and shortcuts you've come up with over the course of building the Zip. Have a merry Christmas, Josh and a great New Year.
I'm very happy to see you get through all the sanding. The light is blinding looking out of the tunnel. Looking forward to seeing the shine , and interior installed. You may have to hand the camera to someone else so we can see the smile on your face for next month's episode. Merry Christmas and happy New Year. Joe
Thanks for financials and administration work. It puts into perspective the effort. You make seem very easy. We all see your discipline. It is a wonderful work of patience. Merry Christmas. Maybe in Jan we could see a dry fit of furniture? Just a thought. Watch you later.
I only think you are a great builder that look into details. good, Very good... I watched all 45 Videos and I have subscribed to see the future ones as well... all the best
looking great... would be nice to hear your thoughts on the size of your boat... maybe for scale to see you in boat from front and sides. I've been thinking of building one at 18ft total length... I used to have a dual cockpit 14ft fiberglass and it seemed a bit small. can't wait to see it on the water!
Rodney Reynolds thanks Rodney, It's hard to tell how the Zip feels for size right now but when i get some time in the water i will let you know, i tried hard to utilize empty space to maximize the usefulness of the boat, truth be told i crammed alot of stuff in a boat this size, i think for my family it will be adequate, tight but adequate, i have a 2000 toyota tacoma extra cab and we fit 5 of us in there regularly, sometimes 6, the zip has more room than my truck, we should be able to fit the three kids in back and two adults up front easily. the Glen-L Malahini is a couple feet longer but has alot more interior room than a Zip.
You have a beautiful boat. I do have a question? Could the gas tank be put in the back under the motor? Also could have the steering cables been put through your armrest and behind the kick panel? Thanks from NC
I just finished watching all 45 of your video;s on this build. Great work! your attention to detail is awesome. Can't wait to see more.
