Wow, this will make the perfect gift for my grand children! They are not so small now, and I know they will love that they can create hats for their family and friends from a gift from their GRANDMA BRENDA.
I really like this video. It makes a very clean looking brim. I have 5th grade students making hats using manual looms. They have little to no problems doing it, but I also have students who have spatial development problems. Manual knitting looms can get them frustrated. Using the knitting machine might alleviate some of their frustration and the way THIS hat is made eliminates the complex brim. I really appreciate this method and I think it will empower my students. I just followed your tutorial and made a hat for my hubby. It was 60 % wool so it will be nice and warm for taking the pups out in the winter. It went so quick and turned out great. I just bought the same exact knitting machine that you have from my neighbor for $10 barely used. I bought it because my hubby has a freakin big watermelon size head. By chance, when you cast it off the machine, did you flip in inside out and then sew it shut? Or what side do you use as the visual side? I like the prettiness of the inside showing the knitted pattern but sometimes I like just the smooth knit look, too, and didn’t know if one way was warmer than the other?
I don’t flip it inside out but it’s just preference - you can totally do so if you want to. I don’t think one way is warmer, I think it’s warm either way. I do love the pattern inside 😊
Ok I own a sentro. I have found a couple of ways to help others. The suction cups , worthless. Find a simple board . Screw your sentro into the board. That way if you need to clean or fix your machines you can take them off the board. It keeps the machine steady and makes it easier to work with.
I just got my machine today and TRIED to make a hat, everything was going good till I wanted to change colors, then I started dropping stitches, please do a video on how to PROPERLY change colors, I wanna make my first hat on this loom, I've made hats before on my round loom's but I wanna see how this one turns out, thanks, great video, nice and slow for people with TBI's who can't follow quick how to videos, thanks

I use #4 weight on hats & scarves! 1 skein of yarn makes 2 hats (115 rounds per hat).. Red Heart is recommended for the machine! Good luck 👍

When you were closing up the holes did you just go into any hole or a specific one.
How many do you have to do if you want it to be reversible.
I used medium 4 worsted yarn and I did 160 rows for an adult and 100 for a child

There is not a counter on the of the machines I have. Only on 48 not on 40 or 22 needle machines. Daughter got me one of each for my birthday.
