THANK YOU!!! This is the best video I have found yet. You are really good at teaching this. None of the rest went into detail like you have and I was to the point of giving up until I found this video. I would get the first row on but the second one would drop a lot of the stitches. By watching this I see what I was doing wrong. OH and we even have the same machine which is nice lol.

I really like this video. It makes a very clean looking brim. I have 5th grade students making hats using manual looms. They have little to no problems doing it, but I also have students who have spatial development problems. Manual knitting looms can get them frustrated. Using the knitting machine might alleviate some of their frustration and the way THIS hat is made eliminates the complex brim. I really appreciate this method and I think it will empower my students. Thanks so much.
I just followed your tutorial and made a hat for my hubby. It was 60 % wool so it will be nice and warm for taking the pups out in the winter. It went so quick and turned out great. He really liked it. Thanks for the tutorial. I haven’t had my machine for very long, so really appreciated the thorough video!

We got one similar for my daughter this Christmas too. Just finished her first hat. Not the greatest but it's wearable and we had fun making it together.

Thank god for this video! I got my JAMIT in the mail 2 days ago and the instructions are just WRONG! I had to watch your video 10 seconds at a time and it worked like a charm. I am still struggling to cast-off which is making all my hats look insane! I need to slow down that part of your video to about 1/3 speed and watch cause you make it look so easy! I love to crochet, and I never have been able to teach myself how to knit so this is a REALLY cool gift idea for me. And your video really is amazing. It’s nice and slow but not too slow that you lose interest. The words don’t disappear too quickly, and the video is up close enough so you can see exactly what you’re doing. i have been trying to master my Addi for 4 years (on and off). Your was the clearest most precise video I have seen, Thank you for the clarity. I will join your group and I am looking forward to seeing more videos like this. I am a 79 year old grandmother with a vision problem and the circular knitting machine has been a "God sent". Oh, I will only give presents that I make so I need all the help I can get as I have a big family.

I just bought the same exact knitting machine that you have from my neighbor for $10 barely used. I bought it because my hubby has a freakin big watermelon size head. So l’m looking for to making him beanies of all colors. He LOVES beanies but with this machine l think l can make some for his large head. Oh thanks for sharing the video! ❤️💕

Ok I own a sentro. I have found a couple of ways to help others. The suction cups , worthless. Find a simple board . Screw your sentro into the board. That way if you need to clean or fix your machines you can take them off the board. It keeps the machine steady and makes it easier to work with.

Yes! It’s fun and addicting. Different colors. Different tension. Add pompoms. Add name tags. Add Rhinestones. Add beads 😁😁
Hi Landra, can I ask how much weight yarn do you use for 1 hat please?
I use #4 weight on hats & scarves! 1 skein of yarn makes 2 hats (115 rounds per hat).. Red Heart is recommended for the machine! Good luck 👍
So glad I found your video. I did not know that the working yarn was supposed to go behind the white needle after casting on the first row. That was where I was messing up. Thanks again!

This is the best looking hat on a knitting machine I have seen-- and an idea I should have thought of myself! Any single layer hats are way too thin and I had given up on making hats on my machine at all. Bulky yarns can't be used so all my hats were just too flimsy. I can't thank you enough for this.

I just got my machine today and TRIED to make a hat, everything was going good till I wanted to change colors, then I started dropping stitches, please do a video on how to PROPERLY change colors, I wanna make my first hat on this loom, I've made hats before on my round loom's but I wanna see how this one turns out, thanks, great video, nice and slow for people with TBI's who can't follow quick how to videos, thanks

By chance, when you cast it off the machine, did you flip in inside out and then sew it shut? Or what side do you use as the visual side? I like the prettiness of the inside showing the knitted pattern but sometimes I like just the smooth knit look, too, and didn’t know if one way was warmer than the other?
I don’t flip it inside out but it’s just preference - you can totally do so if you want to. I don’t think one way is warmer, I think it’s warm either way. I do love the pattern inside 😊

I have a question about closing both ends of the project. When you’re done closing the first end, do you put the needle through the hole of the one end to close the other end?

Yes! Just tighten the tension and shorten the length of the hat.
