Got two wrong. An obscure ancient Greek one, and what an American president liked hunting. I'm a bit of a history buff, but I needed to make an estimated guess a couple of times, so I had a big of luck too.
I did well in the first 20, I think I got 2 wrong but then I think I ended up getting 10 wrong. One I rushed, should have gotten it correct. Those were some difficult questions. I guess a lot correct.
You got question 14 wrong. Hitler was'nt jailed in 1922. he was jailed in 1924 following his unsuccessful beer hall putch on November 8-9 1923, trying to take over Bavaria.
I did score 34, surprising, but then again it is multiple choice, aka multiple guess. Trivia, Hitler suffered a rotator cuff injury in his left shoulder in 1923 so he not raise his left arm. If it had been his right, there would not have been a Nazi salute!
Ernest Rutherford (1871-1937) postulated the nuclear structure of the atom, discovered alpha and beta rays, and proposed the laws of radioactive decay. He received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908.
Thanks for commenting. I believe I have already answered that one in a previous comment. You are correct about his rank, however he was in command and in the navy the position of “Captain" can be held by any officer Lieutenant, Lieutenant Commander, Commander or Captain depending on who is commanding the ship. Captain can be both rank and position. I hope that explains it. 😁
Question 14. The year was 1923, not 1922 as written. Sorry for the error.
Oh, maybe that's what threw me off, why I rushed it, and got it incorrect.
One question - how is Hercules historic?
I had noticed too
I was about to query to question, when I saw your comment.
36 of 40. It helps being 70 years old, as some of these events I remember.
#14: Hitler was jailed after a failed 1923 revolution, not 1922 as stated in the quiz.
yes.the Munich beer-hall putcsh.
I'm not going to lie, I missed about eight and guessed a few that was right. I didn't do too bad!
Good and testing quiz, except the question about the politician hunting !
good quiz but for #14 the revolution was in 1923 not 1922-- Beer Hall Putsch
Yep, my bad, 1923. 😀

Got two wrong. An obscure ancient Greek one, and what an American president liked hunting. I'm a bit of a history buff, but I needed to make an estimated guess a couple of times, so I had a big of luck too.

"Trivia" is a good term for a lot of these questions.
Nailed it! 40/40. Bring it on! 😀👍🤘

I think the failed revolution you refer to was in 1923, not 1922.
I don't want to say which one in case I give the answer away
Yes, I made an error on the year. Thanks 👍
I got 7 wrong… but if not multiple choice I would have floundered badly.
I love history, but strangely, I did better on your science quiz.
Q36, Cook was not a captain when he sailed on the Endeavour, he was a lieutenant.
