  • A PEDALBOARD WITH UNLIMITED POWER: AMP1 + HX STOMP
I had a dream about building the ultimate all in one pedalboard/amp/di solution with my ‪@BluGuitar‬ AMP1 and my ‪@line6movies‬ HX STOMP but without the hassle of the ADA conversion in the signal path all the time and the limitation of the footswitches of both devices in combination with pedals. The ‪@TheGigRigDaniel‬ G2 allowed me to pull it all off in a perfect pedalboard that you can see here!

No worries dude! Love these cables… I couldn’t build this board so tightly without them!

I have a question on the combination Amp1 an hxstomp
When you use it with 4 cable method, can you bypass the amp1-preamp and use the stomp-ampmodels with the poweramp?
Like a additional ampchannels for more flexibility
A great Board and it sounds Perfect!

You absolutely can! Just bypass the blue send/return block ob the hx and replace that with an amp model. Simple as that.

Hi! What power supply do you use here? Thx

Hi Max, I'm intruiged, what size venue do you normally play? What do you use for cabinet/on stage monitoring, and does this vary due to venue size? Cheers

Usually playing small to medium sized venues. I always use a 4x12, sometimes 2 of them. All loaded with 1978-1981 g12-65 t3120 1777 cone speakers. My absolute favorite speaker. I have 3 cabs loaded with them.

In terms of changing for venues. It’s mostly about having a great amp that works at any volume for live playing to me. Amp1 does it, but before that I had my favorite modded marshall that sounded good even with the master almost closed. The 4x12 is not really for volume purposes, but mainly for the actual sound even at low volumes and the 65s work at any stage volume. A 1x12 can sound louder than I usually play easily because of the speaker efficiency. For example a v30 is 100+db efficiency. My 65s are 97db efficiency. You could even have a cab with the heritage 20w greenbacks at 96db efficiency and be quieter than a v30 2x12 or 1x12.

Hi :) great sounds you get from this setup. I have a similar setup but I can't get to place my hx stomp right. Did not understand how you connected yours with the switcher? I have a Gigrig G3s. I have comp before the G3, whammy in loop 1. Then 7 overdrive/fuzz pedals in the next loops. Eq and volumepedal in loop 9. Loop 10 is free (for now 😋) was thinking about putting the preamp of my hiwatt amp there. Chorus and flanger in loop 11 and 12. Hx stomp for delay and reverb. How would you use the hx stomp if you had my setup? So sorry for the long post 😂

You could simply put it in a loop say loop 12. But you could also have it in 4cm meaning you would have 2 hx stomp loops 1 in front of the pre amp and one after. The one in front would connect to the regular input and return from the send on the side. And the loop after the preamp would start in the return and end from the regular output of the stomp. You would need the send/return block present on all patches but you would be able to use pre fx and post fx. To be honest if you’re only gonna use delays/reverbs it would be easiest to run it in the loop.

@@MaxCarton thank you for answering 🙂 I have thought about having the stomp in a loop. It was in the empty loop I tried the stomp first. Really want to use 4cm and get the hiwatt preamp in the stomp. Have a Hiwatt T20 and two Laney cub12 tube amps. The goal for me is to use the preamp of the Hiwatt in 4cm and just use the poweramp of the Laney amps. Hiwatt for dry sound and wet to both Laney. But I am not sure what is the best way to get that setup. If you have any suggestions please let me know 🙂

I have some question about the hx stomp😭😭😭
I buy it about five month, and I put IR into it, it sound very great for me.
But my stomp always shut off, is not turn off but it just like freezing and no sound, by playing about one or two hours
Does it usual, coz it’s very dangerous during a live or show, how can I fix it?
I use my dc7 to power it, thank you😭😭😭

You probably have too much current draw on your power supply. Count all the mA’s that your pedals draw and make sure your powersupply has about double the current of the amount that is asked from the pedals. I had the hx stomp and a few other things on a truetone cs7 and it worked but would shut off every once in a while. So please make sure you are not exceeding the limit of what your powersupply is capable of delivering. The hx should be absolutely fine, it’s just that a powersupply has a limit and you’re reaching it.
