    Love this new spin on your demo song in the first clean part of the video. Very moody! You make all these amps sound terrific. This one is no exception. Can't wait to see future head to head with the Mercury and Iridium exploring clean to classic to mid gain to classic metal, to heavier tones. Great job as always! Love it when you drop a new video.

    I have owned at least 6 Marshall amps -- JVM, SLX, 900, Artist 3203, DSL, etc ... and this BluGuitar is the real deal, ABSOLUTELY fantastic piece of gear guys. Feels good under the hands and reacts and sounds great, i actually think the amp would be better in a small head shell but thats a different debate -- ---- its not hype or BS, etc - this is a fantastic piece of gear that sounds as good as ANY of the marshalls i have owned, its that good

    Man, great job indeed! Keep up the good work, i just recently subscribed and you're really crushing it. \m/ I own the Mercury ed, and this is one of the best demos out there so far. As far as the AMP1 goes, it's one of the (if not THE) best pieces of gear i have ever owned. For my personal needs, there's literally nothing i could replace it with. You just can't beat the sound flexibility, portability and the entire feature set especially in this form factor. It's simply a masterpiece.

So now I know it depends on me, not on the amp... Good to know, there is anything to improve. But I always knowed the soundwise potential of this amp. Thanks for these phantastic sound samples. Love my ME - to anyone curious about the Vintage channel, it can do way more than just a 'light crunch'.
    Using the boost (or just cranking the gain) can give you hard rock plexi tones - my fav sound is the Vintage channel with gain around 6 - 7

    Everyone who has any version of Amp 1 should try combinations of built-in boost with overdrive in front. Try built-in boost on, less gain and sd-1 or tubescreamer in front. Sounds really great. Also try clean channel on 10 with boost on. It's about the same level of gain as vintage channel but totally different voice. Also spend some time and tweak the little knobs on the side.

Your videos don't waste our time, and get right down to business, plus they're entertaining. I really appreciate you ability to consistently deliver high quality and informative content.

    Sounds awesome as usual Jon. My only beef is that as far as I understand it, on the Mercury you can't disable the inherent cab sim so you need to go out to a load box to apply a personal IR whereas the iridium has the ability to disable the cab sim so you don't need a load box. this incurs an extra expense for those without an LB.

    • @aristocaster
      @aristocaster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No load box needed.
      Buy a DI box that has pad ( on most of the DI boxes it lowers the signal 20 or 40 Db), and connect the DI straight to the speaker out with pad on (with Amp 1, you don't have to have speaker connected like in tube amp you have to have) and you have your line out without speaker simulation.
      DI boxes like that start from 15 euros

    • @aristocaster
      @aristocaster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course you can connect the speaker out straight to the Two note Captor M too, with out any load.

  • @davestephens8033
    @davestephens8033 ปีที่แล้ว

    A couple things.....100 watts of SOLID STATE power is not as loud as 100 watts TUBE POWER. You can't call this a tube amp just because it has a tiny little tube in it. The power section is ALL SOLID STATE. This device will appeal mostly to younger guys, but at $800 for this device, a Boss Katana is more affordable and sounds pretty good too. One should consider serviceability. When the tube dies at some point, where do you get a new one? No amp tech would work on one of these, so you're tied to the company and hope they are around 6 years from now. I'm one of those annoying old "Boomers," and proud of my generation's music, and most guitar players are playing our licks, and our licks came directly from American Black Blues players like Tbone Walker and Charlie Christian. We grew up with tube radios and stereos. My amps are all tubes, they are 50 years old for 3 of them and my others are 43 years old and two of them are 20 years old and one 6 years old. All are tube. Every solid state amp or hybrid I've played just don't do it for me. There's a "clanking" sound in the treble I couldn't live with. The worst are the modeling amps and are solid state too. My amps are all easily serviceable for maintenance, a small learning curve. when they hit 100 years old they'll still sound great and the value of them will be way way more than now. Already the $600 '73 Princeton Reverb I bought is nearly $2000 now, I bought about 20 years ago. None of them are ever going to end up in a landfill, but these solid state devices use lead free solder, which has a nasty habit of crytallizing and killing the device and into the landfill they go. All you need is one great amp, that can be worked on by any tech, hand wired is best, but some old PC board amps from the 80's are still serviceable and don't have IC chips in them. Things to think about. Couple years ago I made a huge mistake in buying a Blackheart "all tube" amplifier. They lied. The amp is full of IC chips and even changing the tubes, the sound does not change at all, because the tone circuits are all solid state. I can't even give this amp away, its had less than an hour's play but nobody around here wants these. Oh, well......Peace.

      Jo, gotta say: sounds like you have not been looking too much into me blug. Yes service might be a thing, but its made
      To ladt a lifetime. Also : yes the powerstage is SS, however. I did shoot it out vs my rockverb on a 4x12, this thing can go same volume. And it cuts very nicely. Try for urself, dont believe ppl on the internet. Besides that : im all
      For serviceable gear. Own a badcat PTP amp and that will never go :)

      Absolutely worth the money… sounds and feels just as good as my Marshall heads. A true game changer.

      There’s videos online showing it tone matching boutique amps that cost a lot more and they switch back between them. It’s that good that even the guy monitoring the sound was asking if they were going to switch between the amps when they had been all along.
