- Gen Bipin Rawat was presiding over the most significant transformation of the defence architecture of India. Gen Rawat was the single point of advice to the Defence Minister and chair of the Defence policy group. Gen Rawat was supervising the move to combine 17 single-service commands into just four geographical commands. The next CDS will have to make important decisions pertaining to the formation of theatre commands that are at a crucial juncture. The next CDS will also have to take over Gen Rawat’s unfinished job of modernising India’s armed forces.

It is not about indeginous or foreign. The task is more complicated. How to seamlessly stich together the 3 forced, so that they can operate in harmony and efficiency. The force is diverse with many Egos clashing with each other. To bring all Depts of the forces to act like one organism Will be quite An acheivement.

Who will replace rawat sir place? Must enrage make in India initiative and promoting indegeneous weapons because rawat sir said we must indegeneous in weapon manufacturing. At the starting stage we can't achieve reliability but if we promoting manufacturing in India then we get experience and achieve in reliability. Government should not be in a hurry to appoint CDS. Defence forces have been functioning with the three chiefs. We have a very capable and mature Defence Minister who can handle the three chiefs.
Gruesome pictures, videos of the last moments of late Gen Rawat in the tragic crash were privately circulating on a dark web. He was still alive with his security Captain officer in few last words and slipped into silence. His lower body part was still on fire as his severely wounded officer tried to cover his upper part. A lesson learn for India, it should have immediately sent in the emergency medical rescuers with the emergency recovery team. The crash site was so remote that access to medical facility is about 2.5 hour drive. A witness said that his copter was fast and suddenly hit a trees top in dark cloudy day and high wind.

On the land side there isn't much of a danger other than minor skirmishes which have become the norm.
