First time I saw this movie back in 1995, I laughed so hard when Carl sees the crocodile, thinks for a moment, than screams his head off with the funniest facial expression. It still makes me laugh just as hard to this day.
I absolutely love how Alan’s the only one who knows what almost every roll will bring. He did live in the game for over 20 years, so it’d be natural for him to be familiar with the dangers of the game and know how to deal with it. They’re lucky they rolled him back in when they did, otherwise they would have been toast.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” We all know that saying, right? In this case, words can kill you. Jumanji turned that around. Making use of the animals, man eating plants, monsoon, etc. Especially in the cartoon due to Alan’s accidental negligence due to unintentional ignorance of not knowing that there was a clue for him to solve.
They had an amazing cast for this movie and they all did an excellent job. I will always love the original more than the remake though. Robin Williams and David Alan Grier are classic comedians and nobody can top what it used to be like years ago.
One of my favorite movies growing up. And even if that crocodile were real, I would've wrestled it for the love of my life, the same way Alan did for Sarah.

@Drew Brown you’ll have to see the first movie with Robin Williams to get the joke (sorry, these really are dark times, but humour is a genuine coping mechanism) in which Jumanji was a board game, where you threw some dice, moved to a square and were given an ominous challenge. Hence I joked “Taliban victorious!” As something very consistent with disastrous developments within the game.
All Alan had to do was hold its jaws shut when he jumps on it. Fun fact about alligators and crocodiles, they have unbelievable force closing their jaws but not too much to actually open them. When they open them it’s usually in hot environments because they don’t sweat.
He got another chance at everything and it’s apparent with him at the party for the shoe company at the end, he’s a senior member of the company by that point.

I think the vines must have covered the stampede remember the riddle they grow much faster than bamboo take care or they’ll come after you it stands to reason the vines had enough time to cover that hole created by the stampede hence the water can’t escape

Basically the equivalent of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere where the rain and flooding occur. That being said, Winter in the Tropics every year for 26 years would still be pretty harsh
