These are amazing boots. I have owned mine for 13 years and they are still going strong. They are not insulated, they are not waterproof, but very durable. I used them to do a little bit of everything. Construction, carpentry, auto repair and no issues. Get you a pair, you will not regret it.
@@HumbleCowboy92 these ran really large for me. I wear a size 9.5 in Adidas and ASICS, but for these I wear a 8.5. Since my comment, I retired these boots as they reached the end of life. I have since purchased a pair of Throrogood 814-4200. Also USA Made and super super comfy and durable. Check it out thanks me later. Bought from ALLUSACLOTHING since they always have sales.
@@DonBMW That is awesome info to know for sure!! Thank you so much, man! You have been more than helpful, and will check out that site and check that model of boots out as well!
@@DonBMWI know these comments are already a year old, but for everyone still thinking about which size to get, I can absolutely confirm what DonBMW is saying. 9.5 in Nike and 8.5 in these.
These boots are awesome these were my hiking boots but I out grew my pair and gave them to my friend. I forgot about these boots for the longest time until I found your video
these are really comfortable and well fitting. The build quality is excellent and the speed lace system works great. The only thing that I am surprised at is your feet don't breathe. I use them in the UK so its hardly a hot environment. Probably one of the hottest boots I ever owned. .. still love them though I will just keep them for winter ;-)
You need a better sock buddy, I’m in the UK and run the 340desert flight/cfv (afv certified) and don’t find them hot, the issue is the unbreathable inner sole compared to my 4 types of Altberg.
i have had my pare for about 4-5 months before i enlisted i have been in the national guard for about 3 months now and yes they are great for hot weather they don't exactly breath as much as i want them to but they definitely wont get to hot a nice 5 mile ruck/road march good idea is to use a little bit of water proofing because jest a few days ago i fell through a frozen river with knee deep water and my feet were nearly completely dry
Awesome glad to hear they work well! and i tested them through water already, went into about 5-6 inches of water in a partially frozen creek and my right foot was completely drive and my left foot only had a drop get through, i'll blame that on the way i strung my laces. Im definitely a fan of these boots! Thanks for watching!
I bough the 390 hot weather black leather version of this boots but I feel like even when the boot it’s lace up I feel a bit lose the heel when I walk and I’m wearing the right size anyone knows if this happens to all the Belleville boots?
I have the 340Des and the 390 looks the same and love mine... sizing is ODD as im a UK12 (US13) in Altberg, Meindl, YDS and Salomon... the Belleville are US 11R - Which is supposed to be a UK 10...
I have the Wellco version of this boot the (S161) and they rock got mine new for $43 on a close out sale, also mine are the air force version which is a sage green color (I really like a lot!!!).
I'd rather have a waxed breathable boot for winter vs GTX. Liners will soak ur feet, freeze ur feet, and slow the boot drying process. A breathable, waxed, unlined boot will dry much faster than a waterproof boot. Foot vapor needs to escape the boot.
hey I have the same desert boots but even though I took a size one inch smaller than my normal shoe size, but it just feels like there is too much space in front of my toes... I heard it's normal because the feet need some space in case they start swelling after a long march, but I'm in doubt :) what is your opinion ?
I dont have that same issue with this pair, I have a little more room on the left and right of my feet than compared to other shoes and boots, but not too much especially with a good pair of socks on. Sorry I'm not of more help.
Not if they're hot weather. Make sure they have gore-Tex and they will be warmer. There might be a model that has more insulation than just gore-Tex too.
According to amazon about 1.5 sizes bigger than they say they are. But im not sure becuse I dont wear alot of boots, however I have a pair and they are amazing
If they are hot-weather they won't be. Look for ones with gore-Tex. Gore-Tex means waterproof and you can get gore-Tex with different options. (Black or tan leather, steel toe or non steel toe, etc.)
I'm probably some of the few that actually loved them then. Still have mine from 2008 when I went to Afghanistan. They're pretty filthy-looking now but still my favourite to wear. I guess the overall package ( design, fit, and function) agreed with my feet.
@@petercyr6287 unfortunately not. They are retired now. The soles have finally worn down that the heels are not even anymore. But hey, the overall build still held up and I still would have kept them but due to the soles not being straight anymore, it’s starting to mess with my ankles.
These are great for heat, they are hot weather specific. I used them in Korea when on deployment, definitely worth it
I use mine even at -15 c° on snow and they are pretty good

I got mine from an army surplus store for 10$ and they are amazing, would recommend. Not very waterproof very comfortable.
Bought mine secondhand, but unworn, and in the box. Very comfortable. They were $30.
30 for unworn? eBay would sell for at least 70$.

ok thanks, maybe I just need to find a pair of socks which are thicker
Are the cold weather boots going to sweat you feet off in the summer?
Yes
I've done that back in 1995 in the British Army, one day in winter boots in hot weather is hell, just don't do it.
The cold-water boots sweat ur feet of in the winter as well, if ur on 2x.
What’s the sizing like on these? Should I order the same size I wear in sneakers?
HumbleCowboy92 order half a size down
they are warm in winter?

Big. My boots are almost 2 sizes smaller than my sneakers.
Are they waterproof?

15 bucks I'll give 18 for them? lol
Most infantry will tell you they're crap.
