@@bedair3122 Still in 2019 Most of the android phones looks like copycat slabs/bricks. There is hardly any unique design language. Sony has a different look but they aren't doing that well. Even the new Nokia Android phones aren't taking any risks hardware design wise. Lumia phones still look gorgeous in 2019.
I would’ve liked to have seen how the Windows Phone UI have evolved through to 2022 had Microsoft not pulled the plug back in 2016….Imagine what the home page and live tiles would’ve looked like after a few years of upgrades…..
This is the kind of stuff we’ll see soon on the Retro Tech show. So sad Microsoft discontinued it. My belief was that by this time a flagship Microsoft phone will have full Windows 10 Pro when connected to a display.
i've had my nokia lumia 925 for 7 months now and i dont regret buying it. it is by far the best phone ive ever had: advanced, fast, great camera. but the apps arent so many like Marques said on the video... but the phone itself is sexy, slim, and comes in awesome cases. :) and its not that expensive!!
***** the battery on the Lumia 925 is bad, just bad. Believe me, I've had in for 6 months now, it barely lasts a day. When I'm surfing in the browser, it looses 10% in about 15min.
Wow looking at this in 2015, windows OS has come a long way! Sometimes I forget where we were just two years ago with windows phone. It's so much better now IMO.. Really happy
Using dis phone as my secondry 1, 5 years old, but still working young, thats the trademark long lasting memory of Nokia phones It never seems to be gettin old at all!!
I got a rec on this too! And the Lumia 925 was the most expensive phone I've ever owned. Rocked this baby for 2 good years, now she rests peacefully in my drawer. Ah! the memories
Watching this on my Nokia Lumia 925... This phone actually is one of the faster phones that came out in 2013. It definitely is a lot faster than my sisters galaxy s4... And MARQUES!! YOU MUST DO A WINDOWS PHONE 8.1 PHONE REVIEW!! All windows 8 phones are being updated sometime this month, and it will include a most of the things that were missing from windows 8. It will have more customizable things, a file manager, notification center, a swype like keyboard, a voice assistant named cortana, and a bunch more features.
Not even mad at the recommendation. I had this phone. Loved it. Great build quality. Liked the live tiles. Everyone thought I was mad running a Windows phone.
@win2008workstation Interesting you say that, I agree with the minimumism. In fact when I lost this phone I purposely dident run a phone for 6months! At the time I was a massive PC guy myself, so people contacted me though that when I was home. Since then I've inevitably become a android guy once more, I swear it's running my life, constant distractions...
Just picked one up yesterday, upgraded from the Lumia 900. Gorgeous, love it, and here is what I use my phone for. Nokia Music, downloaded playlists for offline use in the car via Bluetooth streaming to the stereo. I love the fact that I can search for a Chinese restaurant and all I need to do is select it on the map and click directions and it shows me the way in 5 seconds. Finding directions on the fly with Nokia is one of its greatest points. Also, stereo microphones, w/noise cancel!
After looking at the Nokia Lumia 925 on April 30, I went home to check out reviews on this device and then went back the next day and bought this fantastic looking device. So much better than the Samsung I was using. Correct, not as many apps as Android but the 925 has what I require. Further, the 925, being a Windows 8 device, has Office, which is a great feature and one Brownlee forgot to even mention! So glad Nokia is back in the game.
I've used android iOS and WP, and I think wp8 might be my favorite ( despite how much I love the customization of android ), but the app selection really is balls. Great OS thiufh , and great review.
Wp doesn't need millions apps to work on it. One office/doc creator/ viewer, one music+video playback, one mail app, one nice looking and handsome keyboard, and one experience of no others. That's better than you have all your apps but lack of functions, laggy and full of crappy-annoying ads.
I have used iOS and Android on and off in the past...I even tried out the lumia 800, but it didn't work for me because the lack of apps and windows phone 7 (switched too early). I am considering going for this as I've checked all the apps I use on a regular basis and they are all there. If I really end up hating it, then I'll just switch back to my Nexus 4. Thanks as always for a great review *****
For those who have seconds thoughts regarding apps before buying a windows phone device: DO NOT GET FOOLED. The windows phone interface is growing bigger and bigger every month and apps are becoming more efficient and abundant. I have used many android devices and the presence of apps was indeed overwhelming. But I have to say, I didn't even bother checking them. Personally, I only use the top apps on the market and a couple of third party ones. I guarantee that you will have no problem finding useful applications in the WP app store. Besides, it's an emerging platform, and with a little bit of support it can rise much faster!
Just bought one today. I'm impressed with it so far. I know it doesn't have many apps but I hardly ever use them on my iphone so they won't be missed. Brilliant camera so I will be enjoying that!
Pretty solid review. It is indeed a very good phone. I'm not one for apps anyway. As long as I have internet and youtube, possibly 2 or 3 board games, then I'm happy enough
Honestly I have always been obsessed woth the design of lumia's, the chunky rectangular bricks had that feel in the hand. Of course, i wish they were back.
Thanks for the honest and fair review! I really appreciate it! I'm going to be getting the Lumia 925 later this December, so it feels good to know what I should be expecting from this phone. Again, thanks for the review! :)
