"Perfect marriage" -- you ain't kidding! They were so bonded you couldn't rip them back! Worth the effort, though...looks stunning. On a separate note, when you're knitting two pieces at the same time, you can clip them together with a removable stitch marker. As long as you don't put your knitting down right smack in the middle of a row, you can always come back to it and not mistakenly make one panel longer than the other.

I love that Navy sweater, blue is my favorite color, and nothing is more classic than navy, unless it's navy & white. I love your Everyday sweaters too. I recently bought a lightweight light blue sweater from Talbots and I love it! I had been thinking I could use it as a template for handmade sweaters, then make them fit the same way. I've never made a sweater for myself where I liked the fit. I've made lots of things for friends and children, that fit perfectly. But for myself, it's been a struggle. Right now I'm knitting Isabel Kraemer's Aldous sweater, the A-line version. It's my first sweater knit from the top down & having short rows in the back of the neck. You're so right about reading the pattern is the tough part. I really didn't understand that she was giving me my row count rather than telling me to knit that many stitches. So for a couple of the short row segments, I ended up knitting all the way around the neck at the end of the segment. I don't think it will hurt the fit. But still that wording was confusing. I'm making an afghan using Lion's Brand Vanna's Choice yarn 100% acrylic, and I hate the feel of that yarn. I can't help it, I hate the feel of it. Now I'm thinking I'll gift it to someone. My nieces and nephews are having kids, they'll probably love it. I just got some Linen Quill in Rhubarb Pink & Pale Oats for my first ever Triangle Wrap - I can't wait to start it, but I already have 7 WIPs. I want to knock some of them out. I keep seeing things I want to make, like your everyday sweater in 7 different colors.
Ha! I hear ya... so many things to knit! Do try knitting a sweater by going off a current sweater you love. It really isn't that hard once you get gauge (and find the yarn you want to use!) JoAnn has two "Big Twist" yarns, the Big Twist Value and the Big Twist Classic. I'm pretty sure the one you're using is the Big Twist Value because I believe Big Twist Classic is a #5 bulky weight. The current Memorial Day sale price is terrific. Baby blankets in the 30"X30" square range are useful well beyond childhood. They make great lap robes, from college through retirement. Groups of them look wonderful folded and stacked on a hearth. Your lovely blanket in this video is perfect in design and color for lifetime use, nothing too cutesy that would be limiting.

It's a lot richer combination than regular "jewel tones", which I don't care for. Thanks for your reply to my comment about my concern with the airiness of the daily pullover. I am now working on the konomi pullover which is helping me get comfortable with looser fabrics. Anyway, the daily is on the backburner for now.

I happened to stumble upon your channel and subscribed 😊 I am looking forward to joining the striped knit along… I am thinking about using Andrea Mowry’s strip sweater pattern, or maybe the Heavenly sweater that I made 3 of. I can’t remember the designer but instead of making it in one solid color I will create stripes. You have just got my creative brain looping with ideas, lol! Btw, I love your PSA. Both my mom and grandma had melanomas. I got diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year. After surgery to remove the thyroid and a few lymph nodes and a round of radiation it is all gone! It’s very smart to have checkups every year!

Happy Memorial Day weekend from Calgary. I just love your choices and your vlog. I’m just going to cast on the Classic Sweater (which I learned about from a previous vlog you did. Thank you!) This weekend (it’s cool here in Calgary this weekend) I’m doing mine in a bone color with linen quill and alpaca silk by drops, for the mohair. It will be perfect for my trip to Ontario in October. And I’ve just ordered the pastels from SkeinCocaine for the striped sweater. I’m so glad you showed us this today as I’ve been trying to find yarn in similar colors for a striped sweater for awhile and these colours are just beautiful. I hope it arrives in time. Heading to Canada to visit family this summer and I am so tempted to order Sonder Yarn. While I was watching you I was knitting on a fundamental piece for my wardrobe and that is the Navagio by Kate Terentyeva, a classic top down stockinette sweater with a saddle shoulder. Hi Shirley! You are the sweetest. Yes! It certainly is okay to ask me! I screen shot the picture of the sweater and then printed them. I put 4 on a page as to get them the same size(ish) I also printed out the little detail form and then glued everything into the notebook. I just got back from JoAnn where I purchased two skeins of Big Twist Value yarn in the color Taupe, for the upcoming Best Friend Butterfly Blanket pattern next month. Sale price was 2 for $5. They still had a pretty good color selection. I also picked up a tote bag for this project, a pretty woodland scene with trees & critters and the message "Life is Better with Friends"! How could I pass that up?

@@LeslieFriend It’s a design by James N. Watts. A little crop top that was designed for Noro yarn which I also finished one in. I made a silk version which is also lovely but they did not have a rainbow color appropriate for pride and I was not sure how washable it would be so Im using red heart. My child is away at boarding school so I need something that they can throw in the washer and dryer!!
Just lovely. The color! The "Classic" fabric looks like velvet! The kid silk, I think, makes it so. I'm using a kid silk together with a sport weight now....so pretty, but it can be a bit tricky.. difficult to tink back or to frog it. Did you use a lifeline before you cut it? I had to frog mine back 3 " and surprisingly the loops stayed put! I was able to get it back on the needle and redo my mistake.

YES, please get your skin checked! Coming from someone who ended up with a rare Sarcoma on my forehead. The doctor’s still aren’t sure if it was a rogue cell from a Melanoma spot that I had up there. 10 hour surgery, part of my skull removed, muscle and skin taken from my arm to rebuild my forehead, didn’t know if I’d knit or crochet again............... I should have had it checked sooner before the Sarcoma took over. Please go see your doctor!!! Please. 🌸🌸🌸

I happened to stumble upon your channel and subscribed 😊 I am looking forward to joining the striped knit along… I am thinking about using Andrea Mowry’s strip sweater pattern, or maybe the Heavenly sweater that I made 3 of. I can’t remember the designer but instead of making it in one solid color I will create stripes. You have just got my creative brain looping with ideas, lol! Btw, I love your PSA. Both my mom and grandma had melanomas. I got diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year. After surgery to remove the thyroid and a few lymph nodes and a round of radiation it is all gone! It’s very smart to have checkups every year!

Happy Memorial Day weekend from Calgary. I just love your choices and your vlog. I’m just going to cast on the Classic Sweater (which I learned about from a previous vlog you did. Thank you!) This weekend (it’s cool here in Calgary this weekend) I’m doing mine in a bone color with linen quill and alpaca silk by drops, for the mohair. It will be perfect for my trip to Ontario in October.
And I’ve just ordered the pastels from SkeinCocaine for the striped sweater. I’m so glad you showed us this today as I’ve been trying to find yarn in similar colors for a striped sweater for awhile and these colours are just beautiful. I hope it arrives in time. Heading to Canada to visit family this summer and I am so tempted to order Sonder Yarn. While I was watching you I was knitting on a fundamental piece for my wardrobe and that is the Navagio by Kate Terentyeva, a classic top down stockinette sweater with a saddle shoulder. I am knitting the turtleneck version in a deep chocolate brown. I have already knit the crew neck version in a cobalt blue and I love wearing it. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Shirley! You are the sweetest. Yes! It certainly is okay to ask me! I screen shot the picture of the sweater and then printed them. I put 4 on a page as to get them the same size(ish) I also printed out the little detail form and then glued everything into the notebook. Please reach out if you need any help getting this accomplished. And I LOVE the idea of having a knee rug! Such a great idea.... Hope to have it on the blog by the beginning of next week! I just got back from JoAnn where I purchased two skeins of Big Twist Value yarn in the color Taupe, for the upcoming Best Friend Butterfly Blanket pattern next month. Sale price was 2 for $5. They still had a pretty good color selection.
I also picked up a tote bag for this project, a pretty woodland scene with trees & critters and the message "Life is Better with Friends"! How could I pass that up?

@@LeslieFriend It’s a design by James N. Watts. A little crop top that was designed for Noro yarn which I also finished one in. I made a silk version which is also lovely but they did not have a rainbow color appropriate for pride and I was not sure how washable it would be so Im using red heart. My child is away at boarding school so I need something that they can throw in the washer and dryer!!
Just lovely. The color! The "Classic" fabric looks like velvet! The kid silk, I think, makes it so. I'm using a kid silk together with a sport weight now....so pretty, but it can be a bit tricky.. difficult to tink back or to frog it.
Did you use a lifeline before you cut it? I had to frog mine back 3 " and surprisingly the loops stayed put!
I was able to get it back on the needle and redo my mistake.

YES, please get your skin checked! Coming from someone who ended up with a rare Sarcoma on my forehead. The doctor’s still aren’t sure if it was a rogue cell from a Melanoma spot that I had up there. 10 hour surgery, part of my skull removed, muscle and skin taken from my arm to rebuild my forehead, didn’t know if I’d knit or crochet again............... I should have had it checked sooner before the Sarcoma took over. Please go see your doctor!!! Please. 🌸🌸🌸
