Just out of curiousity, how did you two find Emily? I had picked up a free beauty magazine that had a little write up on 4 women who were "trail blazers" in the beauty & fashion world & Emily was showcased for her videos. Up until then I had only watched TH-cam when my kids were showing me something. Then I found that article....& a monster was born...lol. My kids were then teens & I rediscovered makeup after being a SAHM for many years. I figure Too Faced, Urban Decay, & the whole gang owe Emily a whole lot of commission! 😄

I just found her tonight and I'm already thinking where has she been all my life. I love her, she is so different and so real compare to all the other youtubers. Ok prepare for a novel: I cannot even tell you how much I appreciate you and this comment section. I just left another TH-camrs video and the comment section was so so so SO negative and it is honestly just so annoying. It is always so refreshing coming to your channel and the comments are always so positive and respectful and you are always so mindful and upbeat. I really appreciate and relate to what you were saying about the behavior of a lot of other TH-camrs and it's just becoming exhausting. You are so positive while still being honest and genuine and I seriously thank you. On top of all that, I'm thrilled about this video because I have the foundation Artis style brush but I didn't get any of the others. Naomi Benatar You are spot on! I can only think of two other TH-camrs who have such positive comment sections. How sad is that?! I think too many content creators get caught up in the online "celebrity" culture and start acting quite entitled. I can't tolerate that type of behavior. It's opposite to what I'm trying to teach my 15 year old daughter! I know I'm a bit older than the majority of the popular influencers. So that might have something to do with my mindset too. I just don't care to watch negativity or read it on TH-camrs' social media outlets. If they want to be negative and rude, they should save that type of behavior for their personal lives and not foster it on their social media platforms. That's my 2¢. 😊
MidwestMakeupJunkie I'm with you! I'm only 21 so I'm probably a similar age as a lot of the TH-camrs who perpetuate this crap and I still find it exhausting and juvenile. I love being able to come to this channel and read the comments for great makeup tips and suggestions without having to wade through a bunch of rudeness first.
I have seen this same sentiment echoed throughout the comments but I feel like I need to pipe up, too. THANK YOU for staying real and relatable. There have been so many youtubers that I adored in the beginning but then it seems like they change a lot when the subscribers come. Emily I would LOVE for you to review Sephora brand brushes. I love a couple of their eyeshadow brushes but I’ve never tried any face brushes & I hear they’re fantastic.
Overall the Sephora face brushes are excellent quality. I've had a few misses from different brushes, but those were in weird packaging. I'm not explaining that well at all. Lol The Sephora Pro brushes are on par with other high end brands. I've had some of my Sephora Pro brushes for over a decade. I take good care of them, and they've lasted! I hope this helps. :)
I’d like a review too. I went in store to buy a few brushes but they were expensive. I didn’t get them because I hadn’t heard enough about them to fork over that much cash. $40 for a brush that looked like a crease brush but was bigger.

I don't know what essence uses in their mascaras but I swear they last forever! And they have some of the most inexpensive and best mascaras in my opinion, they're my go to for mascara!

I think this look came out great! I will have to check out those eye brushes but I like my MODA dupe brushes for the face. I think that your positivity and maturity is one of the things that separates you and an handful of other TH-camrs from the rest. IndigobluBeauty there is simply so much genuineness and class with Emily. She was my first TH-camr. Literally, I rarely watched TH-cam. She remains as fantastic as ever. I feel like the W&W setting spray is VERY SIMILAR to the UD all Nighter. They even smell the same! I’ve recently begun spraying my face w/either of these before my foundation & it gives my makeup extra longevity. I don’t use it as a last step.
I also like the wnw one. I've never tried the UD one. I haven't tried putting it on before foundation yet but I do like it for if my foundation looks cakey I spray it on and go over it with a damp sponge, totally fixes it and keeps it in place.
I’ve been feeling the same way about negativity except I’ve noticed it in myself. I walk away from conversations thinking why was I complaining so much? Why was I so negative? So I’m trying not to get sucked into that way of thinking but it’s a challenge.

This GRWM is the reason I subscribed. I've seen a few videos of yours, but I sensed a feeling of vulnerability from you in this video when you talked about the Oprah podcast and it resonated with me. I felt so much of a similar vibe and it is so refreshing to hear a person on TH-cam that has similar values. I don't expect you to see this since you have so many subscribers, but I hope you do and feel some positivity the same way I felt when I listened to this video.
I really love the way you talk about your daughters. My son is 10 and I was a very young parent and not perfect by far,but my daughter is now a year and half and I'm much older and in a better place in my life and I'm trying so hard to be the mother I always wish my mom would have been, but also be the mom I'm meant to be as myself. Everyday tho I feel like there's something I could have done better or been more understanding and im also trying to fix the wrongs in my sons life. It can be hard to find a humble beauty influencer, but I've been watching you for 4 years, and you have never been anything but humble and appreciative of your viewers. Young girls should look up to people like you more often, truly beautiful inside and out.

Emily I would LOVE for you to review Sephora brand brushes. I love a couple of their eyeshadow brushes but I’ve never tried any face brushes & I hear they’re fantastic.

Overall the Sephora face brushes are excellent quality. I've had a few misses from different brushes, but those were in weird packaging. I'm not explaining that well at all. Lol The Sephora Pro brushes are on par with other high end brands. I've had some of my Sephora Pro brushes for over a decade. I take good care of them, and they've lasted! I hope this helps. :)
I’d like a review too. I went in store to buy a few brushes but they were expensive. I didn’t get them because I hadn’t heard enough about them to fork over that much cash. $40 for a brush that looked like a crease brush but was bigger.

I don't know what essence uses in their mascaras but I swear they last forever! And they have some of the most inexpensive and best mascaras in my opinion, they're my go to for mascara!

I especially loved what you said about showing gratitude and all of the things that seem to be going on on Twitter with TH-camrs to & about their followers. I swear every single time I watch one of your videos I sit here and think “this is why she’s my favorite”. 😍 l absolutely love RT brushes and I’m excited to try some of these new ones, especially the eyeshadow duo. I have small, hooded eyes so it’s difficult to find brushes that I really like. I’m also going to have to buy the lip set - the colors are gorgeous! Halfway through, I feel this also is making me feel happy! I really enjoy you sharing your ideas and thoughts that just come out of nowhere! I been thinking, social media IS a lot of negativity lately, because we all are worried and see it’s a big time of change. I have dealt with this by talking about things I LOVE, not “ranting “ all the time. And enjoying and noting the small things really died help.

I think this look came out great! I will have to check out those eye brushes but I like my MODA dupe brushes for the face. I think that your positivity and maturity is one of the things that separates you and an handful of other TH-camrs from the rest. It is so refreshing when a comment section is full of wonderful and uplifting people instead of people just ripping each other to pieces.

I know exactly what you're saying about the negativity on social media. One of the reasons why I love your channel is that it's a calm, cheerful and friendly atmosphere. I've been watching you for many years, and it's consistently been that way. On another note, the brushes look very nice, but I can't wrap my head around paying $20 for a drugstore brand 🤔. Tfs!

I can't agree more about positivity. Also in adding to that and Oprah...the power of Positive thinking, and you get back from the world, the type of energy you put out into the world. If you are constantly putting out negative energy...even via twitter...you are opening yourself up to a negative reaction from the world. Love your videos =)
I really enjoyed today's video. Just kinda gently optimistic and positive with some whimsy thrown in as you talk about the kiddos. I love appreciating the little things in life and the story about little bit missing the ladders in the library was so sweet and innocent.
There's something extra special about your face colours in this video - the foundation, contour & blush colours are absolutely divine here and suit you so perfectly!! And yes to the "pink brush for everything face" video idea - I'd love to see that.

IndigobluBeauty there is simply so much genuineness and class with Emily. She was my first TH-camr. Literally, I rarely watched TH-cam. She remains as fantastic as ever. She and Kristin Gehm were the first two and continue to be the top for me. They haven't changed. If Emily says it's good, I'll buy it. She should be a spokesperson on a zillion brands!

I feel like the W&W setting spray is VERY SIMILAR to the UD all Nighter. They even smell the same! I’ve recently begun spraying my face w/either of these before my foundation & it gives my makeup extra longevity. I don’t use it as a last step.

Thanks for that tip and brand. As far as affordability, I need *extremely* affordable. And W&W fits that category for me.
I also like the wnw one. I've never tried the UD one. I haven't tried putting it on before foundation yet but I do like it for if my foundation looks cakey I spray it on and go over it with a damp sponge, totally fixes it and keeps it in place.

I’ve been feeling the same way about negativity except I’ve noticed it in myself. I walk away from conversations thinking why was I complaining so much? Why was I so negative? So I’m trying not to get sucked into that way of thinking but it’s a challenge.
By far you are my favorite TH-camr. You are so relatable and so honest. I love how you are just trying makeup because you love it not because you are being paid to love it. You are not going around posting naked pics of yourself making beauty not relatable to regular people or moms like myself. You are the definition of reality. I have so much respect for you . This GRWM is the reason I subscribed. I've seen a few videos of yours, but I sensed a feeling of vulnerability from you in this video when you talked about the Oprah podcast and it resonated with me. I really love the way you talk about your daughters. My son is 10 and I was a very young parent and not perfect by far,but my daughter is now a year and half and I'm much older and in a better place in my life and I'm trying so hard to be the mother I always wish my mom would have been, but also be the mom I'm meant to be as myself. Everyday tho I feel like there's something I could have done better or been more understanding and im also trying to fix the wrongs in my sons life. I actually took the time to right down the podcast and the books you talked about as well. You truly are a lovely person and great inspiration to moms like me❤

I like the small shadow brush for metallics on the lid. The taper seems to do a good job of picking up product.
