I think it just comes down to them not having time/resources to record many many more lines of dialogue for her as a companion. Alfira, Rolan, Alfira's girlfriend (can't remember her name), Mol etc. All of them have a lot of interactions and lines, but I'd bet it's not 1/50th the amount of lines an actual full companion has.
She is literally a musician with zero combat experience prior to meeting you. Not sure what your "unique outfit" point is supposed to prove as well. Grove and Last Light Inn is full of characters that are as relevant to the story as her. By your logic Zevlor, Isobel and Rolan are all cut contents as well, which is obviously not the case. Also, Halsin and Jaheira are completely different druid archetypes. Halsin is the moon druid, Jaheira is the druid/fighter hybrid. Just turn Astarion or Wyll into bard hybrids/pure bards if you really want one as a companion. Fits their personalities quite well.

But this scene when she comes to your camp and insists she can fight and wants to adventure with you... what a damn tease by Larian. This could be the bard companion everybody asked for. I tried everything i could to try and prevent her death or even resurrect her. but unfortunately, the only way i know to prevent her death is to not have the dark urge origin.
No her death is what kicks off the dark urge plot line. Probably why it was recommended to not do your first play through. Luckily her death is the only one that’s forced. You aren’t forced to kill your lover or other important characters to the story
I’m being damn near as evil as possible in my play through and I smashed her lute for fun so it didn’t make a whole lot of sense why she would show up at the camp of the sadistic lunatic that smashed her most treasured item just for the fun of it. She basically walks right into her death, but i guess it makes some sense considering that she’s super naive and childish. Was less logical that my companions all stuck around after I brutally murdered someone right next to them as they slept then bragged about it the next morning. Just had shadowheart say she’d “keep an eye on me” like tf? I’d get the hell out of there and not tell anyone.

Tbh I couldn't be sure they wouldn't all turn on me --- though I read later that if you fess up, they just chalk it up to the parasite lol.
Personally though I think my choice for my character was a very human one and it works okay. I haven't even let my character tell anyone she has murderous urges yet. She's enjoying prodding everyone else for their life stories but being super closed off about her own problems XD
This took me by surprise when it happened to me. I thought she was imposter Orin at first then suddenly boom, you killed her. I was like 😐🫢😬😈
Such a sweet and innocent girl. Never playing Dark Urge.
That makes me so sad because she’s one of my favourite npc’s
Me: oh cool, you can get a bard without talking to Withers??
Durge: not so fast.....
How the heck did that not wake up anyone in camp
This gave me a sick feeling in my stomach tbh. The dark urge play through is quite the experience lol
On my second play, though, I will be an evil necromancer
I'm doing my first ever playthrough and after i killed her..i was well shocked, now my dark urge has her lute equipped permanent and took the performer feat and level 4 so he can play. As a promise to not succumb to his urges again
Also interesting thing.
If you pass the check to hide the body, no one will mention that Alfira is missing.
When I did the same actions with the replacment dragonborn nobody said or reacted to the dead body inn their camp. It was like she was never there for them. All except Scratch. He looked at her for 2 seconds and then lost interest.
maan i never get to this or any other scene. scratch always turns up, becomes hostile and cutts of all conversations
I hid the body in a ditch lmao. Love dark urge..
After the bs that was pulled in act 3 where Lakrissa has been flirting with me since Act 1, only to turn out she and Alfira get together, yeah, i‘m happy to see this right here
i had no idea you could recruit her much less even KILL HER. i can't tell you how sad this makes me.
I missed this entirely.. I did not know this was a possibility!
Was really hoping there was always a way to stop that little goblin.
How do you recruit Alfira?? Shes just hanging out at the Elfsong Tavern in my game?
you can’t
This is only for the Dark Urge playthrough, in no other origin does she ever come to camp.
I just got to this section as im on my second playthrough, this is the first time playing as the Dark Urge and oh boy is the scene absolutely fucked. I had to reload cause i thought chasing her out of the camp would save her but nope😂 no i feel even more terrible.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Dark Urge"
Does she ever come to your camp if you're not playing dark urge?
Nope. Even though pretty much everybody wishes she did. I played my first character as non Dark Urge and I thought she was simply a noncombatant bard, and I made my peace with it. But this scene when she comes to your camp and insists she can fight and wants to adventure with you... what a damn tease by Larian. This could be the bard companion everybody asked for. Unfortunately it only happens if you're Dark Urge and then she's destined to die. Here's hoping that if they ever consider adding more companions, Alfira will be among them for a regular playthrough.
@@Veloziraptor111 well that's some bull. It makes zero sense why she'd only go to a DU characters camp, and it's make it painfully obvious she's only there to die. That's some sloppy writing just to try to force an event for _one_ type of playthrough. 😡
I didn’t know you automatically kill her. I just killed her after telling her to piss off lol.
first I thought she becomes a companion because of the first patch. And well then I remembered I'm playing as dark urge...
Yea, I thought it was because I'm playing as bard and I helped her finish her song. That is so cruel.
ugh i accepted alfira into the camp even tho i knew this would happen, cuz i thought durge would get a possibility to resist it. my durge is a bard so he and alfira played some nice music together and then went to bed and then.. ye shes dead.. oof. so sad! sorry alfira :(
"I'm The Dark Urge. Nice to meet you." LMAO
I was really, really hoping this was a fucking dream!! 😢😢
The murder hobo character path.
It's also the greatest story of redemption in the whole game.
This scene made me feel ill hahaha just started a dark urge playthrough
Definitely not for me, but glad it is there for others to enjoy.
ok Dexter
Не Дитя ли Баала наш дружок?)
Так и есть
This chick has a habit of dying horribly. In mine she got Shadowed.
These scene doesnt play to me when playing as the dark urge. I sleep and then it cuts straight to the questioning and Alfira is dead. Is my game bugged? I've tried to go back some saves but the same keeps happening
Same here! I was wondering if it was my mods breaking something
I was so flabbergasted when that happened ngl
I killed all my saves for this, I'm in love with Alfira 🤣
is there any way we can save her?
If you're playing the Dark Urge origin. You kill her regardless. Chase her away or welcome her to stay. Regardless the Dark Urge character murders her.
@@Xxsorafan Actually Timbers death kicks it off... rest in peace little fella
@@Xxsorafan And her death isnt the only forced one
That’s hysterical. Guess she won’t be hooking up with the flirty girl near the end hehehe
When did she come to tout camp I am still waiting her
I’m being damn near as evil as possible in my play through and I smashed her lute for fun so it didn’t make a whole lot of sense why she would show up at the camp of the sadistic lunatic that smashed her most treasured item just for the fun of it.
So. I going to create a char with same look as Alfira and make her Dark Urge
what's even worse? my friend was playinbg dark urge, i was a bard, when i saw her join the camp i got SO excited.... played a song with her and gale, was thinking of all the adventures we were gonna go on. then that scene happened, we had share private scenes on and i fucking screamed xD
meanwhile my crazy friend who loves killing shit was laughing the whole time.
but you know what?....that's fine......cause i know something. he saw the companions for this game and he says he likes karlach...that's all i need to know
Havent played dark urge yet. When do you see the dark urge as the character you created? Every time ive seen someone play as dark urge theyre always in that form
Not sure what you mean, but the Dark Urge can only be the main character. It's suggested form is a white dragonborn, you can make them as any race or gender.
Maybe a stupid question, but ... will the Dark Urge in this cut scene always be shown as a dragonborn or will it show as the appearance that you created?
It'll show as the character you've created.
Thx!@@thegamerpillar
@@thegamerpillardoes this only happen if you save the grove or just after meeting alfira as a dark urge
It only happens if you help Alfira with her song.
Currently playing dark urge and resisting the urge leads so interesting story specially if youre romancing someone. Spoiler ‐--------
On chapter 2 dark urge thirst will attack again and you can resist it or you will murder your partner 😂.
My 2nd playthrough will be full on evil path as dark urge again and I can't wait lol
If u want her to live knock her out she will be replaced by a random npc
Maaaan I really wish you could have recruited her
i just had this scene ahaha that was so crazy xD
So the background music doesn't really change??? This is so annoying the bg music that plays when you find a dead body is the soft mellow camp ambient music.
Bro did not select "Admire" 👹
I really want her as a companion 😢
There is something interesting with Alfira if she is alive?
imagine this happen to Shadowheart......i cant endure the pain just from thinking about it
I beheaded karlach when i first saw her and got a shiny sword for it. Worth it.
Imagine keeping that sword and Karlach....
Oh wait.... @@foulXD
@@Rem55_ i dont like karlach. She is written like a MCU character. Too stupid for my taste = beheading, easy peasy.
She never showed up for me wtf.
I just want that cloak, sorry alfira my girl lol
One of the biggest complaints I have fir BG3 is that unless you go the Dark Urge, the PC has no story to tell and is just a blank insert. Sure the Dark Urge is one too but at least they have something, and actual character driven goal to be rid of the Dark Urge, but no, this game will appeal to the degens and murder hobos of dnd the most. I still liked the game but the wasted potential...
Well, yes, the main character is basically caught in the crossfire of a cosmic gith and illithid war.
I rolled a Dark Urge Half Orc barbarian...too bad the voices are absolutely terrible for orcs not menacing at all.
Half-Orcs and Dwarves got the short stick in this game. No good voices for them. No good beards for dwarves.
@@XarkoCZThere are several glorious Dwarf beards in the game. You must be drunk or something.
@@Foogi9000Those are passable female dwarf beards at best. Not a single one for a man.
How do I unlock this cutscene?
Maybe there is a way to keep her alive
Brutal
I got the same cutscene as a lolth sworn drow cleric
I'm not having scenes like this. Is this only in dark urge?
Yes.
Watching this online because I will never play Dark Urge.
You are missing out. The character introduction from the character creator shows with great clarity that it can be a seeker of redemption.
