I'm 38 years old and I recently bought the crawling dragon baggy jeans, a bomber jacket, sneakers and a cap and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I think especially the baggy jeans look just amazing and cool and I don't even care what people say or think and that I 'should dress my age and not look tacky', but fuck it at least I feel good, comfortable and HAPPY !!!!! :-)
This video shows how fashion 100% relies on perception. If high status celebrities start to rock ed hardy gain for whatever reason, it's gonna get really popular again
I think it depends on if the person actually cares about fashion or not. You can tell when somebody is actually into clothing or just pretending to care. Most celebrities get money and feel like now they have to look the part.
Reminds me of when celebrities like Justin Beiber and Kylie Jenner started wearing vintage band t-shirts, which made other people want to wear those shirts too, even places like forever 21 and H&M started selling band t-shirts.
Ed Hardy shirts and soon Affliction shirts were huge in the mid 2000s to early 2010s. I disagree that any one person or event killed the popularity of Ed Hardy, because Affliction and other brands with similar designs fell off around the same time. That late 2000s aesthetic just got old. Technology, fashion, music and reality TV all changed in the 2010s. Jersey Shore stopped airing in December 2012. The baggy pants look was out and with it everything that went with it, whether that was basketball jerseys, bowling shirts, or shiny graphic tees.
I think every trend at one point will die and head Hardy just like any others trends was on his way out but I think the gosling scandal rushed it’s demise.
I think the brand has settled into a comfortable niche, it still has a dedicated fanbase and while it may peek back into popularity every once in a while ppl who do fw the brand will still wear it regardless
in y2k culture in my country there's a lot of hype with 2000s clothing that people wore in the us, and now we can find them in thrift stores (ed hardy, christian audigier, affliction, mma elite, tapout, rawblue, dcshoeco, jnco, etc.) so it might not be popular in the us or social media in general, but if someone offers me something of that kind i would love them and take care of it with my heart 😻🫂

@@1981EST Absolutely. I was just trying to say a lot of people just want to fit in and look cool by wearing whatever is "cool" at the time.

@@Maudtattoos exactly. That's why a lot of companies use celebrity marketing
"Fashion" literally means following everyone else. People forget that. Uniqueness is a part of it too but only a small part.
Pretty nice vid my guy !
I remember the Ed Hardy/Audigier craze in the late 2000s, it was a weird time for fashion indeed lmao
Thank you man
