Now this is rediculous !! Where did this tummy time thing come from anyway ? Kids in my day never had scheduled tummy time, they slept on their tummies and played on their backs. When it was time they rolled over onto their tummies. Please explain to me why a 1 week old baby needs tummy time. Their poor little bones aren’t even formed yet....give them time to at least form a bit ! There’s plenty of time for ‘’tummy time’’....good grief.

Babies were always put on their tummies 24/7 until the early-mid 1990's, when it was shown that sleeping face down raises the risk of SIDS. It isn't too young at all but it should be for limited periods of time.

As long as they don't do it for too long the baby will be fine, its never too early to start building up a child's muscles

It helps them build their neck and core muscles which will eventually help them crawl.
