I'm glad to have found your vid but in my case it is the silly "system" process. Which is ping ponging between two threads on one of my cpu's ... I think one of the services might have had a crash but how can I sort out which one ?!
In my case, it was no surprise to find it was Edge since that is what is freezing. Firefox also freezes, and I've reset both back to defaults more than once. Super annoying that in 2022 browsers still are stuck as single-threaded processes. I have 52 cores (although only at 2.3GHz), 256GB RAM and a couple of NVMe drives and every so often, usually on TH-cam, the entire browser freezes and 1 core will be maxed out. I would understand if it was one tab or one window, but it will hang all instances. At least they open all tabs after I kill the process but it's an annoyance on an otherwise high-end computer. Wish I knew what it was in the browser that was causing the lock-up. I suspect a plug-in like Grammarly or Lastpass, but other than a long-ass process of removing plug-ins that I otherwise use and waiting to see if it happens again, I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to troubleshooting this.

I was playing around oc my 10900k and now is stuck at 1 core .78ghz locked clock speeds. Help? :/
so I have a different interesting issue... If every program on my computer is set to use CPU 0-15 then scheduler makes them ALL use the same 2 and my games start to freeze and stutter
When I set games to only use 8-15 they run just fine does that mean I have a CPU failure or is windows just broken

My task manager was only showing 1 CPU I thought it was because I have my cores Sync'd. But Not so. I clicked on "show all cores" like you said. I didn't know task manager had that option. But you have a lot of cores and great overclocking results. I have 16 cores on a x99 motherboard. so it is a bit old. But I just upgraded my processor to a used one for $40. I think 8/16 cores is the max I can get on a x99 motherboard. I have Sync'd all my cores in bios, with a target of 36x. My processor is a Zeon E5-2667 v4 with a max turbo freq of 3.6ghz. So technically, I do not have it specified above the factory turbo rating.. Maybe I should increase it to 42? or 40? what do you think?

It was system for me so i cant kill it.
It also lagged my pc for some reason i was hardly able to move my mouse gpu was arround 5 percent and spiking up to 95 90 97% while nothing open.but cpu was 1 core pegged
This is extremely helpful. But my problem is a bit different. I have a i9 -12900k and everything always pings the 8th,9th,10th core to death. EVERYTHING. All the other cores barely have any activity. The problem with this is when I use my music software which does the same thing as every other process, it runs poorly because, let's say, core 9 hits it's max easily because everything is using those cores already. I found a work around, but I would love to know why is this happening? The work around is to use Process Lasso pro but even it shows that most of my cores remains parked while those four take all of the load.

@@shareall3893 at the time I was using windows 10. I went on and upgraded to windows 11 pro. And I use a third party software called process lasso. I made some changes in there and it helped 100 percent.
I noticed when playing games my 9 or 10 will hit 99-100 and stay up there how can I fix this
i havent seen watched the vid but if it doesnt work my pc has 1 core i logical processor its dell core is i5 8th gen and it was workng fine but then i just lost some cores (my hardrive was removed but it was working fine even after a year from that if that affects it then i understand)
For me it was system, 1 treadh was pinged at 100% and sometimes stuck mostly when playing online games, so i found out it is the EASYANTICHEAT, they had a new update and many are affected. so if your system is pinged 20% or more when gaming ONLINE games you can be sure it is the easyanticheat, i found out be exploring what coused the 100% treadh useing a program called windows performance toolkit.

System will always be on top, disregard that one and look for any other process beneath it.
This doesn’t help. I have a fresh install of windows 10 and it is still doing this.

Hmm this didn seems to help me.. I have this problem when gaming i have one core running 95-100%?? and causes a bottleneck and makes GPU hickups. I have a 8 core I9 9900k, and core number 3 runs high when gaming in all games, when the others runs normal about 15% give or take.. Have any one a solution how i can fix this problem?? PLEASE HELP! Im lost and have tryet along time to find a solution?

Play multi-threaded games. If the game is single-threaded, there is nothing you can do to make it use multiple cores.
beamNG uses 1 core a vehicle and core 10 stays at 100%
In my case, it was Prime95 from CoreCycler.
