    Wow I’ve learned so much this morning having my coffee and watching your VC vids. I never knew or could imagine the Barenaked Ladies having 12 albums or more. Shocker for sure as I could not imagine their popularity being that high to allow for so much work. I never ever hear anything about them but those 2-3 old hits. I never followed them nor did I think they were so prolific. I love the colour vinyl you found and agree with the descriptive words used. My favourites were the “Burnt wood Black” ones you showed. I have had great luck finding awesome music on CD from Thrift stores, most I would never buy at retail prices. The vinyl selection is never good unless you’re completing your Burl Ives or Neil Sedaka catalog. Also the records are usually without sleeves and have move scratches and hacks than grooves. The CD’s I have stumbled on to are in good condition and help fill those catalog holes for $2 a piece. It’s never fun when a record fair is poorly planned and executed. It’s also very frustrating and tense 😬. Well enjoy the new tunes as I will mine ( spent way too much last two weeks on new and used) like WAY TOO MUCH 😝 LOL. Bye for now.

      I have had way better luck with CDs at thrift stores than with vinyl. The records, as you say, are usually dismal and poorly treated. I still don't know what people do to their records 🙂 Also, near me, there is too much James Last! Thanks for the nice comment 👍

    Excellent video Brian, and like the fact you share great info, stories/anecdotes with each of your finds. Those Ministry 12"s are pretty neat, and some overlap there with Buzzcocks and The Church. College days nostalgia for me! 😎🎶🎸

    Hey Brian, It was great seeing you at the Downtown Record Show. I completely agree that the lighting issues at the new venue were pretty annoying and that the crowds were an issue. I imagine that they're having problems finding decent-sized, affordable space in the downtown. I hope that they can maybe start using the church hall just off Pape again, as that was a pretty good size. It still had some lighting issues in the corners, but not as bad as the Tranzac. If they use the same space next time, I might try going at the end of the show rather than the beginning, to see if the crowds are any better. Maybe things will be picked over more, but it might be worth trying.

      @EmbryonicRobot  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey John - It was nice to see you too. At some point, I did come to the conclusion that going later would have been a better option. That will be my strategy if they repeat with the Tranzac Club! I agree that the church off Pape was far far better 🙂

    Some great finds there, Brian! Also, if one is from Southern California then playing the Dead Kennedys on Sunday morning is perfectly acceptable. 😃 It's also great to see the early Ministry singles represented - I also believe that Alain did play 'Work For Love' very recently - is that Ministry's "With Sympathy" peeking out over your right shoulder from your shelves? My old eyes might be failing me but I could have sworn. Very glad to see some nice additions to your collection at the same time you find yourself pruning some others. I haven't got there yet, myself - but I have way fewer than you do. Also, if I'm not being too nosy, how many records do you have? Seems to be a few. As ever, thanks for sharing with us.

      Yes, Rich, that is indeed With Sympathy in the background. The number of LPs is a good question. I put everything together on Discogs (and I haven't created folders), so the total with CDs, etc., is about 5300. I'll have to do some math someday 🙃

Or, not even thorough but at least more informed. Congratulations on the Ministry finds. Starfish! That's one of my time-tested records. Singles Going Steady should be a time-tested record - maybe I'll do that next. Wow - and Dead Kennedys. You've shown three in a row that I have. I notice that you called the record "In God We Trust". I will comment here the same comment I've made on at least 3 other VC people's videos - the name of the record is actually "In God We Trust, Inc." I hate to sound picky but it seems to me the "INC" part of the title is the most important part of the title. Thanks for showing the records - have fun listening!

    Even though I've been collecting for 50 years, I have yet to hit a record show. One day. I'm one of those collectors that will buy recordings of someone farting into a bucket, if it's by a Canadian artist, so you happened upon very desirable finds at that charity shop. I've found the Toronto Value Villages et al to be a complete waste of time for vinyl (a little better for CDs). I usually show up to bigger record shows in the last 90 minutes as deals can be had easily. I play it a lot and first came across them watching a Steve (wannabe Mike) Carlson video. But be careful, because I love it so much, that I tracked down and bought their first album called ‘Wednesday’. It’s quite hard to find and is expensive, but to be honest I was a little disappointed.
