GARTER TAB CAST ON TUTORIAL

The Garter Tab Cast On is a commonly used on triangular shawls which are knitted from the top downwards. This knitted cast-on technique allows you to create a beautiful flat edge for the centre of your shawl, before working increases downwards from the nape of the neck towards the three points - like on my Hawthorn Tincture shawl pattern. Don’t worry - it’s not difficult at all! In this knitting tutorial, I demonstrate how to work a Garter Tab Cast On, and explain how to adapt this basic method for the numbers in your shawl pattern.
