Keep in mind that there were indigenous people in BRITON. the Saxons moved there. And so they had to tie their language to the original Celtics and thus OLD ENGLISH WAS BORN. SAXONS are Germanic tribes of old Saxony like the jutes, angles ( hence ENGLISH), Friesian. There were indigenous people in the UK.
