I love this song. Love this genius! Once i offerted this song for someone narcisist. They took many things from me. But i imagine how sad is his Life. Listen this and fell anything. Be empty. As while it's make me cry and grearfull for being alive
awesome!!!!! a secret masterpiece, I´m just 23 years old and I think there´s a few people who knows about this song and the movie, I´m glad. I wish the youth of my generation realize there´s a lot o good music than they think. Thanks
This might be one of my favorite Nick Cave songs. I especially love the stately old-fashioned piano and organ; they - and the backup singing, too - give the song something of a '50's feel. This is one of the more "conventional-sounding" Bad Seeds songs ever recorded, but I really do love it, for all that. It's a throwback to '50's-style R&B, I think.
I do love this song. I found the record in SF, went back to the hotel and listened to it so many times, felt like Jesus’son and an angel. Those days are all over now. But I still love this song: vagabond or misfit who meets an angel and feels like one
Empty out your pockets, toss the lot upon the floor. All those treasures, my friend, You don't need them anymore. Your days are all through dying, They gave all their ghosts away, So kiss close all your wounds and call living life a day. For the planets gravitate around you, And the stars shower down around you, And the angels in heaven adore you, And the saints all stand and applaud you. So faraway, So faraway and yet so close. Say farewell to the passing of the years, Though all your sweet goodbyes will fall upon deaf ears. Kiss so softly the mouths of the ones you love, Beneath the September moon and the heavens above. And the world will turn without you, And history will soon forget about you, But the heavens they will reward you, And the saints will be there to escort you. So faraway, So faraway and yet so close. Do not grieve at the passing of mortality, For life's but a thing of terrible gravity. And the planets gravitate around you, And the stars shall dance about you, And the angels in heaven adore you, And the saints all stand and applaud you. So faraway, So faraway and yet so close.
wow i wanna see the film now, love this song and the duet with anita lane-are both those songs from ana lbum or something and is it bad seeds or..? cuz i want it!
same song practically... same chorus with a different hook and perhaps one verse that's different. I haven't hear the other version in a long time though.
I'm questioning the same every time a see a comment of this type. I fear that this people are the same type of justin bieber fans... just another style of music.
@Alboid Agreed, at 17 I am growing increasing frustrated with the generic drivel that dominates the charts today. They don't know who people like Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan etc are. It's embarrassing :| I haven't yet seen the film, I'm tracking both Wings of Desire and Faraway so Close down though (Y)
One of the best singers ever
Wim Wenders we salute you!
I always come here to listen to and sing this song beneath the September moon!!

In my father's memoir. Happy birthday my beloved one. The angels in heaven adore you. 💚☄️🌕💚

I have chosen this song to be played at my funeral.
It won't be in a church and I'm hoping it will be in the distant future.

It's from the homonymic movie Faraway So Close in 1993 by Wim Wenders. Anyway, I've been searching this for a long time and it's great...

Ah, this is 'What can I give you in return?' in a past life.
VERY NICE!
Thank you for uploading this.
they have a similar song on a b-sides album called ' what can i give you'
This is the song I'll have in my funeral
genius!
This shares many lyrics with the Bad Seeds' B-side What Can I Give You.
אין דברים כאלה אמיתים
יש רק אותך קייב
Zero is also a number is his best song.. i think so :))
xeltupyreli: "Fifteen Feet Of Pure White Snow" and his interpretation of "Stagger Lee" are amongst my personal top-fav 5-star tracks of his.
