  • Yep, it's long but I got it all.
It doesn't get any better than this (when everything just comes together!)

Seems like the horse knows within a second what your intentions are Bill before you even bump bite her with the flag.

It's when you spend enough time with your 🐎 he becomes a real companion

Bill this was great! I loved how you showed us your body language and explained it all.. this is what I’m trying to learn! In your next video can you show us HOW you train the horse to step toward you laterally? Not sure how to go about it. Thanks!

Bah,ha,ha some things I need to keep a secret :)
It won't be fair to the ones that have bought my videos!
Like catching & some other things. Besides a lot of the answers are in other videos that I have on there.

Am I missing the video on how you get them to back up and move towards you? Love that. Just curious how you train that. Thank you.

It's interesting for me to see what looks like good respectful training for horses, although I am working with my donkeys who are different. , I'm new to all this so I m not qualified to say. I would definitely need to make some adjustments for my riding donkey. He'd say those are big bites, so I'd go smaller. But I do get a lot out of how you position your body to theirs. I need to watch it a couple of times more to really understand, but when I used the angle bringing them in from pasture yesterday, they were more responsive than when I just make an indirect route keeping my gaze averted. But like I said, I'm not sure what I'm doing. I just try to understand what they communicate, and try my best to make it two way.

First off "it isn't 2 way"! You're either a leader or a follower in the equine world.
You adjust your bite according to the horses sensitivity. Donkeys & mules are usually more thinkers than reactors. Yet they can be more & even worse aggressors than a horse. You have to assess the animal you're working with.

Bill Campanelli , thanks for your reply and reminder to assess each individually. And they change as well. I think about donkeys are stealth reactors. They don’t react as much outwardly when they are surprised by something or it’s new, and so I have to try to develop a better sensitivity to what they are communicating as a response to me , and then be clear about my communication. I agree that they are thinkers. I’m just not sure when processing speed allows for what might be a disturbance or a bite. But maybe I’m not thinking about right. My processing speed may be delayed as well. I will try to assess theirs without losing any trust. So I will try to take what you show and then go a little slower and down a notch. I also want to check out more of your older videos to understand better.

Absolutely watch some of the older videos. A lot of the answers are in there (one just needs to be very observant) because I don't spell it out for you.
