This is why I've watched you for years. You explain stuff simply so it's easy to follow. You know how to explain each segment as you go along. Great video as always. Ransoms trot look great compared to the time he came to you. You are the definition of a true artist. Hi from the UK x
He is a great instructor . That is why a lot of non horse people from his other channel came to this one . I have grown to appreciate and love his but all horses in general . NEVER would have looked at the POV from the horse ... horses built this country ! 🇺🇸
For a horse that hasn’t been ridden in 2 years he did much better than I thought he would. But it helps that you see him every day, talk to him a lot, pet him, grab his tail/mane. So he knows who you are. ❤
Thank you, Rick 🥰 Buddy did much better this time. Do you think it was because you weren't in as much pain as you were last time you rode him? I love watching you working with horses 🐎 Have a fun live this evening, Rick 🥰🥰
You have such a good base on buddy that he did better than probably 90% of the horses out there would. When I was a kid I rode my grandpa‘s horse quite often. But there would be times when he wouldn’t get ridden for months and months. And he was always a little frisky when I got back on. But I was young and spry and hit the ground. Didn’t worry me. He never bucked me off. But as we get older that ground gets harder.
Thank you so much Rick. Very true - you're showing everything from start to finish without any editing, no 'working him' before the 1st video so Buddy performs perfect once the video starts... just real and truthful with the video. Really appreciate that. Plus hung onto every word you said, those that I could hear anyway when the mic wasn't playing up 😂 Thank you so much Rick ❤ Oops and thank you too of course Buddy Boy ❤ Still looking good enough for Hollywood ❤
Thanks for sharing! I think Buddy did pretty well for not being ridden in 2 yrs, and having the other horses as a distraction. Great job to the both of you! ❤
My blood pressure went up 40 points watching this. I’m in my 70s and watching you ride him with no one around in case you get injured was very stressful.
This video was good and interesting for me to watch. I’ve been part leasing a horse for a long time now, but I haven’t been able to ride her in several years. No one el. I pulled out her saddle pad a few mints ago - she looked at it, turned around and headed back to her paddock. When she saw that I was behind her, she too, off at a trot. Since then we have been working in the round pen, with her seeing the saddle pad on the pipe rails, then I walked up to her with it, then threw it over her back and off again. Later she graduated to having a soft saddle. Then I put a bigger light weight saddle on her and had her walk and trot with around the round pen. We finished up by hand waling in the trail with the saddle still on.
❤🎉😂 Thank you Ricky, I enjoyed both videos!! It's a pleasure to watch you ride or work with horses, you seem so natural and are so dialed into your horse, very fun to watch!! 😊❤🐴😍
Wow ! MY only 3xperience with horses is thru this channel ... NEVER seen buddy say NO like this ... but to be expected I guess . Great video Rick .. it's great to see the boys WE THE PEOPLE 🇺🇸
Great video! It's so good to see you riding again! This is the Rick & Buddy Hollywood & Ransome show I enjoy so very much! Thank you Rick, I could almost feel when I use to ride my Domino 🐎🐎
Horses are like cats in that they recognize immediately when something is different in their area. And to them, either species, it equals danger until they have satisfied themselves that it's not.
Now that’s “edutainment”! Really like the mic so we could hear you explain things as they happen. But mostly was hoping to hear you scream a little. Lol.
But he is definitely not his usual self when you write him but heck, it’s been two years. So I guess we really wouldn’t expect him to be completely the same.
If I tried to get the spunk out of my Arab mare at the beginning, she would be "hot" the whole time, if other horses were at a slow Trott, that would get her in this flight mode. So I always started slow, stayed slow, and then let her run. People always thought she was crazy, but she had good instincts, and was actually a really sweet horse. And like you, you get used it. And sometimes it meant getting off really fast, before she could go into flight mode. I have to admit that I had not mastered controlling her in those situations while riding her. Most little things yes, but weird little horses, being ponies, really threw her off. And I learned not to be mad about it.
Buddy did pretty darn good considering all! It's great to see the boys again. Did you lose some trees in the back of your property? It was looking a little sparse back there.
Hey Rick, you like spicy so this should be an easy thing for you and it will help with aches. Get some ginger, cut a 1" thick piece, minced it up, or juice it, pulp and all, and swallow it down. You can use raw honey to help it, which is what I do sometimes. Daily for at least 7 days. But, not if you're on blood thinners. Fevertree Ginger beer will work in a pinch too.
Great to see you doing a horse work vid again dude. I know you've given the % of carry load per body weight of a horse before in a passed vids. But I'm just curious. What do you think Hollywood's optimum rider weight is at this point in his life? (I'm guessing he's about what, 20yrs,& 1,200 lbs or a bit more) Could he carry a full grown guy like you or me around for a full day of say trail riding or bug out travel? Or is Buddy Boy getting a little long in the tooth for that kind of stuff? Again.. Really enjoyed watching you and Hollywood doing your thing together. It's been a while. 🫵😎🤙
Plow rains are known as direct reigning it’s clearer for the horse most people that say they neck rain, confuse the horse and are just yanking and pulling the horse don’t be confused when somebody says they neck rain. A horse should follow his head most neckers the horse looks the opposite way they go because they’re being pulled.
You have not road on your horse in two years and you’re retired. Wow wow like you said that’s what happens when you don’t ride your horse specially for two years really less Pickleball and more riding your horse like you would tell anybody else
Buddy did good and you did great Rick. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you not sitting in a chair at your desk. I miss these videos. You look great Rick 👍🏼
I guess if that left hip gives you too much trouble, you can get on him from the right side. Won’t take him long to get used to that. I’m sure you’ve done it before. My right hip would not let me try it. Getting older sucks. But it’s better than the Alternative
I don’t know shit about horses but I do like watching a master at work even if it’s just laying bricks. I have a feeling that there were many bits of wisdom in this short video.
too busy talking. back up and released multiple times when buddy was resistant, while saying at the same time, Oh i dont like this gotta fix it You reinforced it. And why run him right away if not ridden in a couple years? Go walk a trail..
I missed these types of videos! It's so good to see you riding again.
For not being ridden in 2yrs, he did very well. Omgosh, I remember him being upset with you when you rode Mr.T and not him. What a good boy Buddy 💙
Ransom looks like the jealous younger brother thinking that he’s missing out on the big fancy party!
This is why I've watched you for years. You explain stuff simply so it's easy to follow. You know how to explain each segment as you go along. Great video as always. Ransoms trot look great compared to the time he came to you. You are the definition of a true artist. Hi from the UK x

Thanks for the laughs, Mr. Hollywood did great for not being ridden for two years.
❤️🇨🇦
Poor Ransom . Could be that seeing a saddle brings back bad memories from long ago before he knew Rick . Now he is in good hands .
I was thinking that too.
Best horse educator and teacher. Thank you for all the time you give for us 🤠🤠🐴🐴
Buddy out of retirement💥🐎
Rick out of retirement!
Whoo hoo! 🥳 👏 🎉 👍💖🤘
I was thinking Buddy figured since Rick is retired that he must be retired too and that he (Buddy) just gets to roam around and do horsey stuff. 😊
Rick, missed you all!
he's so desensitized to your shenanigans he wasn't even fazed when you started getting after him when lunging. 🤣
I remember Buddy running in the big round pen with Mr T. They had fun that day!
OMG-I loved watching them together in the round pin too…especially when he had Mr. Hollywood lay down 🎉
Mr. T was the man
Thank you, Rick 🥰
Buddy did much better this time. Do you think it was because you weren't in as much pain as you were last time you rode him?
I love watching you working with horses 🐎
Have a fun live this evening, Rick 🥰🥰
Buckin Buddy and Ride it out Ricky 😆.
Thanks for sharing this. It's Awesome to see you in the saddle.
Hey 🤠, not a bad ride after 2 years 😊! Glad to see you back in the saddle again. See ya at 7 Texas Time. Lots of love to you and the boys!
I wonder if Rick will be saddle sore at tonights live????? LOL!

Buddy boy looks great by the way
Thank you so much Rick.

Wow Rick, Ransom is moving so much better now!!
❤❤❤ The Hat! That was the last thing I grabbed when I left Commie California ......I ran back and grabbed my Stetson! ❤❤❤❤
Buddy is SO beautiful! Prettiest Palamino I know!❤️😀⭐️🐗
This wasn’t in his contract 😂😜
He did really well for not being ridden in 1,5/2 years. You did great as well😉😄
Danger Will Robinson ….😂😂😂
That was fun to watch. Buddy did pretty well considering it’s been two years. Thanks Rick. ❤
I really enjoyed seeing you ride again. I always enjoyed your horse videos. Good to see Buddy behaving himself.
Love seeing you back in the saddle Rick!! And Ransom wants to “help!” lol two crazy boys
You need to do more videos like this no matter what the age the horse is people need to realize this❤❤
This video was good and interesting for me to watch. I’ve been part leasing a horse for a long time now, but I haven’t been able to ride her in several years. No one el. Great video! It's so good to see you riding again! This is the Rick & Buddy Hollywood & Ransome show I enjoy so very much! Thank you Rick, I could almost feel when I use to ride my Domino 🐎🐎
Not bad after 2 years honestly I was expecting the Ricks rodeo extravaganza. 😂
Horses are like cats in that they recognize immediately when something is different in their area. And to them, either species, it equals danger until they have satisfied themselves that it's not.

A fantastic video. A comment for the algorithm. Thumbs up! 👍Ransom didn't move an inch while you were working/talking to Buddy in the camera😂
❤❤ it was good to see you again Rick and the horses❤❤
Now that’s “edutainment”! Really like the mic so we could hear you explain things as they happen. But mostly was hoping to hear you scream a little. Lol.

I’m riding Maverick my Mustang Monday . Weather is great in Illinois
I have missed seeing you on your horses. This was nice to see. You are a good teacher 🍎
But he is definitely not his usual self when you write him but heck, it’s been two years. So I guess we really wouldn’t expect him to be completely the same.
Been thinking about you and the boys. So good to see ya! What a great video. Great job Buddy.

Hey Rick and Buddy great video
Buddy did pretty well of course he was going to resist, any horse would after such a long time
Buddy did pretty darn good considering all! It's great to see the boys again. Did you lose some trees in the back of your property? It was looking a little sparse back there.

Maverick looks just like Mr T
Im curious...how do you feel riding again?....great instructional video. Buddy rubbing on you at the end...great!
Buddy is thankful to 🥒ball for making Rick lose weight🤠
Go Ricky!
Hey Rick, you like spicy so this should be an easy thing for you and it will help with aches.

Great video
Good boy buddy
I forgot, did your neighbors ride Ransom or was he just there in the field?
i guess that i should have asked if you always plow rein
Plow rains are known as direct reigning it’s clearer for the horse most people that say they neck rain, confuse the horse and are just yanking and pulling the horse don’t be confused when somebody says they neck rain. A horse should follow his head most neckers the horse looks the opposite way they go because they’re being pulled.

Buddy is getting old. He had more spit and vinegar to him when you were riding him a few years ago.
Hello
Buddy did good and you did great Rick. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you not sitting in a chair at your desk. I miss these videos. You look great Rick 👍🏼
👋👋

are you neck reining or plow reining?
why are your hands so high? curious....
I don’t know shit about horses but I do like watching a master at work even if it’s just laying bricks. I have a feeling that there were many bits of wisdom in this short video.
Where'd you get your shirt?
❤🥰👍💯🙏🇺🇸👏🏻👌
too busy talking. back up and released multiple times when buddy was resistant, while saying at the same time, Oh i dont like this gotta fix it
You reinforced it.
And why run him right away if not ridden in a couple years? Go walk a trail..
This man knows what he’s doing!! He’s very educated in horses!
