"It really felt like we were leaving on a hunt. We didn’t have any certainty of the outcome of the trip or whether we were going to find our supposed prey in the Walker Arm..." Paul McSorely, Tony Richardson, Joshua Lavigne and Crosby Johnston travel to the remote Baffin Island with the goal of a first ascent of the North Face of the Beluga Spire in "Climbing Beluga".
Another outstanding!!!! Film from Arcteryx. Thanks for the continued inspiration. I'm of to my local climbing wall. It's the closest I can get to Baffin. It'll do just the same 🗻👍
Not even that's a pen flare. And i'm not even sure bear bangers would work against Polar Bears they are vicious. You're only real protection is a 12 ga shotgun unfortunately.
I really struggle when I see 'adventurers' pushing the limits of a community like this. You were told not to come. that is not a vain statement, clearly Levi knows his stuff. You must have known that you might have to be "rescued". You must have known that federal search and rescue teams don't respond before the locals feel (perhaps reluctantly - and rightly so...) pressed to respond? You must have known that the locals would be risking their lives and equipment if a rescue was needed. Can we hear about your plans for that? Did the team discuss it with Levi and his team? Did Arcteryx discuss ways that they could contribute to the community to make this less of a "take" venture and more of a benefit to the community? guiding fees don't cover it. Perhaps it all a lot less dramatic than what the film suggests. In this case please don't promote the type of epic trip that forges ahead at the unconsenting cost and risk of others, as some noble ideal.
interesting point of view. We have volunteer rescue here in Squamish and a ton of climbers. Your're right, it is very risky on many levels here or there. More so I suppose up north. Thankfully they sent it, but I did not consider your angle.
The best of the best have to do crazy shi*. Risk is always there but I do understand that you don’t want to but the locals between a rock and a hard place to go rescue them. Interesting thought.
3:40 Not the best for your brand to show your "athletes" strapping up into Helly Hansen gear because your jackets couldn't keep them warm or dry enough!!
These arc'teryx videos are always so damn gorgeous I can't believe it.
Not just the location but the cinematography of it is just unreal.
Damn this is still an all time adventure even after all these years.
The final scene was so well done. The music and the cloud soaked peak drifting into the distance. Breathtaking!

Wonderful and inspirational film. Thank you.

RESPECT!
Amazing!
that's epic!!
Please don't tell
Me I was the only who seen that wall in the beginning and was like " so many fucking grips !" Looks like a blast
What is the big blue and venom arcteryx down jacket worn in the video ?
Do I see Helly Hansen gear being worn or is that just me?
***** That was just the boat gear.
Arcteryx doesn't make boat survival gear, same goes for climbing equipement, they don't make everything and they are pretty cool about it!
whats is he holding at 1:48? Bear banger.

how do they charge the cameras?
These climbers are no Mark-Andre Leclercs 😂
The one with the white helmet has an ego that’s beyond irritating.
Nice scenery though.
Does anyone know the difficulty of the climb
To me, it looked like a 5.9 crack system, but they didn't show all (or most) of the pitches. I would guess it is harder than 5.9.
what is he holding at 1:48?
A pen flare
what's the bgm in 10:24 ?
Wondering the same...
Loup Solitaire They didn't provide the list at the end it's not professional at all (
rc'teryx is professionnal about mountaineering, not music ;)
I know, just so eager to know that bgm

I love seeing brave adventures but hate seeing dumb escapades. Hope to see more of the former and less of the latter.

+Christopher Zatzke Survival Suits are standard safety equipment when navigating arctic waterways.
Christopher Zatzke lol and the locals wearing The North Face jackets... you know what they say...locals know best
Just saying... From a marketing standpoint...
