Hey thanks for watching this one too. I appreciate the comment. It helps with the algorithm and November was my best month ( financially ) with TH-cam I’ve ever had.
@@buxtonautosales Just keep information flowing like this and there will be more better months in the future. You know there are car lots all over the country with a little repair shop in the back where they fix their own cars for resale. But fixing up a car you bought for resale is a losing tax proposition ...your own labor is never deductible. Bit paying another shop for the repairs (even if you own the other shop) is genius. I wonder why I never thought of that ;-) (If only I was as smart as I think I am ....)
I think this video was spot on. I've owned two separate locations on small used car Lots and a separate lot and repair shop. I always bid and bought late model nice vehicles that were Broken, no start, or something major wrong with them so I can get a good price . And I did well .I'm retired Now bit watching this video made me want to come back because of the thrill of chasing down the good finds. Great Video of actual gross and expenses.
Glad you like them! It’s been great picking up new subscribers and trying to grow my channel. There’s a playlist full of behind the scenes of a certain lot and our flips etc.
Man it’s work, and there’s a learning curve. You might want to check out the video I made titled 5 things I wish I knew before I opened my car lot. And there’s several other behind the scenes type videos on that playlist as well. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Awesome. If you can learn from someone else’s mistakes or mentoring it’s less mistakes you have to make on your own! Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Appreciate the insight on selling cars as a small business. Eight cars a month is less than I would have thought. Btw picked up on your channel after it was suggested by the algorithm when I watched a Flying Wheels video.
Man, I love Craig. He’s in a whole other world than my little cheap car lot. Appreciate you watching and thanks for the comment! Yeah, remember most of my overhead is split between two businesses which helps tremendously. And that’s not growing that’s just paying the bills.
@@buxtonautosalescar lot and repair shop at one location go hand in hand. I can’t imagine how bad it would be trying to outsource repairs to other shops as a used car dealer.
@ I have a couple relationships with other shops before I owned a shop. They’d give me a break on price because I gave them work regularly. And I would do my own brakes, oil changes, and things like that when I first started out. But since I bought the shop, yeah, that’s been a big help. Thanks for watching!
I get your point but the reality is it’s been going on long before I was born and will continue. I encourage these people to transfer their title and pay their tax. Beyond that, it’s up to them.
@buxtonautosales Encourage them to get licensed in their state! Breaking the law is never ok until you get caught. Your State disciplinary codes would not endorse street sales.
Appreciate the realistic insight into operating a small business and the financial considerations.
You’re welcome. I’d had people asking about it. Thought I’d knock one out real quick and see how it does. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Wow, there's a lot more going on behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing.

Good insight
Thank you and thanks for watching! I’ve got a playlist with a lot of car lot material of that interest you.
This is exactly why you should despise illegal car sales and not encourage it.
