Ticket has some of the worst takes on TH-cam my goodness. Lillard not on Steph or Luka's level. Not to mention it's not like Lillard playing with scrubs. He has Simons, Nurkic, Grant, and he had Josh Hart for a good portion of the season too. That's a far better roster than what Luka had up until Kyrie.

Luka averages more points, rebounds, and assists than Dame. Luka is shooting 50% from the field as well. The only thing Dame does better is shoot. The Mavs have also been above Portland in the standings practically all season. So the "winning" aspect goes to Luka. Luka is better.
Basically. Dame is a worse defender, worse passer, worse overall offensive player, worse scorer, worse rebounder , less impactful

Dame might be a slight better or they’re equal defenders. I feel like Dame gives more effort, I could be wrong though. I prefer Dame as a scorer, but it can go either way. Luka takes everything else pretty comfortably.

Dame has no "player accountability" because he has ZERO expectations, so he can shoot 27 shots to get 35 points every game, and no one will critique him. That can't be "the grind." That's the easy way out...just put your points up every night in a losing situation and take your big check and enjoy the offseason. I think it means more when a player puts himself in a situation to win because now you have expectations that you have to prove. KD could could easily go to the Pistons or somebody and average 40 for nothing.

It was Duncan (champ/fmvp), Nash (mvp), KG (raw individual statistics), Dirk (1st team) AI (made 1st team > Kobe). it was one of Kobe’s worst seasons in his prime. But the next season (05-06)… Kobe was a better player than Nash and that was one of his best individual seasons in his career.

If younuse a "production" advanced stat e.g. VORP, you'd see Luka has been better than Dame.
When you see that Luka's team loses at a higher rate with him not playing, you cant say Dame's production is better in terms of winning.

Steph curry? The best guard in the league. While Kyrie and Dame have comparable skill sets it's different because what stuff does makes everybody on the court better put draymond on those Portland teams with Dame and CJ, they don't replicate that same level of success. That's not to say that dame and Kyrie are in Superstars they are but Dave had an opportunity to play Steph in the playoffs where it mattered he came up very short with his performance in particular and stuff obviously cooked and as far as name and Kyrie Dame is a bit ahead of Kyrie as far as being able to consistently make playoffs and win and stuff is a bit ahead of vain where is he's been able to take his team over the top it's not even close
Draymond isn't the only player on the Warriors outside of Steph and Klay. They years where they were easily the best team in the league, they also had the deepest and best bench in the leauge.

I mean the Mavs outside of Luka are pretty obviously worse than the Blazers outside of Dame outside of the games post trade deadline yet Luka was winning more than Dame. I agree that it doesn't matter if you want to say a guy on a better team is winning more is better than a guy on a worse team, like if Fox was being compared to Dame, but if you can't win as much as another guy despite having more help for the most part, that is pretty telling.

In what way is Dame better than Luka this season? Cause it's not stats, it's not efficiency, and it's not winning. Those are three pretty major things when determining player success.

The Mavs (before the Kyrie trade) have a much worse team than the Blazers. I'm saying this as a Blazers fan, and somebody who has been riding for Dame for years now.

I said I have Luka, but Dame is putting up similar stats on a team that has been a shell of itself for since CJ left. Luka has played with a solid team all season, now it’s just a little less deep, if you knew anything about ball instead of just fixating on stat lines , you’d know that a better team means defences don’t hone in on you for fear of being punished, and yet Dame is still almost as productive than Luke in points and assists, sure Luka averages more rebounds but they average the same number of offensive boards…. And Luka is damn near 6’9”…. Both get largely unchallenged rebounds, so it’s a shit stat to throw up, which you did with your lines.
Their efficiency spread isn’t all that different either, Dame is lower due to more 3s a game and he has greater shot variety, but beyond that, they’re on par.
So yeah my guy, I can see why Chill and Ticket can have Dame over Luka even if it isn’t my pick.
I don’t know what games you’re watching, but watching both on the court, and they’re a lot closer than you’re giving credit.

People overuse the shifting goal post argument. It isn't a simple subject. There is a lot that determines a player's value. Player A can win more games than Player B and Player C but be better than player B while being worse than Player C. If you use winning as the tipping point between two players that are really close that's fine but you don't need to use it as the tipping point between two different players because there are a multitude of other variables that can determine each player's value.
