I would recommend The Sopranos and The Wire, those are my top 2 shows of all time, breaking bad is good but not as good, I just started watching The Shield and so far it's pretty good

@@DiabolicalApostle no it’s because dexter was starting to be exposed to characters that were actually important like Deb and Maria, it was a lot more tense and was written way better, new blood did not feel that way because it was a bunch of new characters that the audience has basically no connection with finding out the truth about him, it would have been much better if it was Miami metro finding the truth about him and hunting him down, and season 7 is the closest thing to that (besides maybe season 2), season 7 wasn’t perfect but it’s highs are way higher than the ones in new blood were, new blood was still good but Miami metro should’ve been the ones to bring dexter down not Angela lmao
@@jpeg204 Maria's revelation was super underwhelming, and so was Deb's to a lesser extent. They didn't pack nearly the same punch as Doakes in Season 2. Felt too little, too late. Then there's all the actually interesting plot threads and characters that immediately became dead ends because the actors didn't want to commit and the writers got lazy. Totally ruins the season, honestly. Not as bad as season 8 but that's faint and damning praise.
MCH only agreed to make New Blood providing it ended how it did. But Dexter did make a lot of mistakes in NB that he never made in the original run. He went from a calm , cool , calculated methodical killer , to leaving a blood trail all the way back to his place.
Dexter was always smarter then everyone and was 10 steps ahead it kind of bugged me he wasnt like that in the newest season. First episode he is banging a cop that is just stupid

Dexter is a gateway drug. I quit watching TV decades ago. Watched one episode of Dexter and was hooked. The finale was a huge letdown with its ridiculous ending, but the reboot with Dexter: New Blood is an embarrassment: Poor acting, poor writing, poor direction, poor editing, poor CGI...it was ghastly. The ONLY redeeming part was seeing Jennifer Carpenter again. She really has that 70s vibe that I recall so well from my teen years.
I thought the acting (Michael C. Hall's and Clancy Brown) was quite good. The writing was hit & miss (big miss at the end) and the rest I pretty much agree with. Would've been forgivable if the end was fleshed out better.
im dissapointed in dexter, he could wiggle his way out of the claws of miami metro, and frank lundy, but a fuckin small town sheriff manages to take him down. he easely could've wiggled his way out from there. but did super sloppy stuff instead, and got himself busted. There is no season nine. There was also no season six, seven or eight. The only reason there was a season five is because of Julia Stiles. There's no point in acknowledging the rest of the train wrecks.

S7 is actually pretty decent, Isaac Sirko was a top tier character, and the debrah dexter storyline was interesting imo, but Hannah dragged the season extremely down. And s8 was one of the worst pieces of television i've ever seen. Imo the ending isn't even the problem. I kinda like the idea that dexter put himself in an environment isolated from the rest of the world and his loved ones where he punishs himself everyday with the sounds of chainsaws (which reminds him of the brutal murder of his mother) for all his misdeeds what led to the death of Rita and Debra and in the last scene you see a broken dexter who still has the urge to kill but will never give in to the urge again. But that's only my interpretation of the ending idk. Its not a good ending but we all knew that dexter doesn't get to live a happy live. Imo they had the perfect ending, the ending of s7. Everything happens exactly like in the last episode, but debra shoots Dexter and not Laguerta, s8 begins with dexter waking up in a hospital surrounded by the Miami metro, everyone knows who he is, all his friends in the police departement know that he is the BHB and that Doakes was innocent, the whole media goes crazy about this case, they could have shown dex in the court, dex one the run, the reaction of batista, masuka, quinn, the Kids and so on. And Debras mental breakdown would still makes sense, because she is responsible for dexters downfall. It's a shame, they had so much potential right infront of them, but they obviously hired disney star wars writers. S8 was so bad, BUT unlike NB it still feels a bit like dexter. NB was horrendous, they had nearly a decade time and they came with the worst script, with a boring and rushed plot, with a bunch of retcons and a last episode which you could think It's from Game of Thrones s8. New Blood was a disaster, shouldn't had happened. Can't believe they fucked up twice lmao But yeah, that's my opinion. Btw sorry for bad english
La Guerta was stupid for going after Dexter. You don't go after a serial killer who kills scores of other dangerous killers, including Marines, trained assassins, and other, more active cops.
Bruh, they give him a good ending, very forced the dexters mistakes, but actually they finished the dexter character development, remember dexter is not a superhero, they had a lot of problems with people making self justice based on the show. So they make the difference on this season

Angela solving the biggest case in florida within probably 1 day is the stupidest shit ever. She couldn't even solve the Curt Caldwell murders. Just doesn't make sense for me at least.

No, they weren't that bad at all!! maybe season 6 was somehow dull but 5, 7 and 8 weren't bad & 7 in particular was a magnificent comeback for the show with many interesting characters and stories...and it was nice to see Dexter's character development from an ice-cold monster who faked all his feelings to somehow sensual and caring.
The final season was such a letdown. It made no sense, Dexter was always careful enough not to get caught and suddenly he gets caught and the writers refuse to give evidence as to why?

Anyone who goes after Dexter all end up dead I get it's Laguerta's job to catch bad guys but if she and Doakes have left Dexter alone they would still be alive.

Bruh, they give him a good ending, very forced the dexters mistakes, but actually they finished the dexter character development, remember dexter is not a superhero, they had a lot of problems with people making self justice based on the show. So they make the difference on this season

Angela solving the biggest case in florida within probably 1 day is the stupidest shit ever. She couldn't even solve the Curt Caldwell murders. Just doesn't make sense for me at least.

I watched this entire series and I don’t even remember this. The last few seasons were just so badly written…
Season 7 actually was pretty decent
Season 7 brought life back into the show. It was 5 and 6 that kind of made it fall off a bit
No, they weren't that bad at all!! maybe season 6 was somehow dull but 5, 7 and 8 weren't bad & 7 in particular was a magnificent comeback for the show with many interesting characters and stories...and it was nice to see Dexter's character development from an ice-cold monster who faked all his feelings to somehow sensual and caring.
The final season was such a letdown. It made no sense, Dexter was always careful enough not to get caught and suddenly he gets caught and the writers refuse to give evidence as to why?
