The second one seems like intended behavior to me. The boat and a player are both entities, and they both inhabit the same block space when you enter one. Of course you're going to take entity cramming damage if you set the entity cramming limit to 1 and put 2 entities in the same block.
Yes... but I think they should somehow recode it, so entity that rides another entity becomes kind of a part of that entity, so they don't squish each other.
@@sweetcornwhiskey if players want to prevent "stacking" mobs into one block of space (a server admin preventing animal farms of this nature for lag reasons is an example; it's also the intention behind that gamerule existing) it shouldn't suddenly break unrelated vanilla mechanics such as riding in boats. the current behaviour makes perfect sense from a code logic perspective, but not from a gameplay perspective.
@@moontravellerjul I firmly disagree. @@sweetcornwhiskey you're right that setting the limit to 1 is a strange decision. i decided to test these things in game to check it all; and turns out that entity cramming is based on the number of entities with overlapping hitboxes, not the block space they're occupying. A desert update would be wonderful. I would very much like to see nopal/opuntia cactus added to MC. It could bear cactus pears/prickly pears just like the real plant...and the other parts of the plant could be cooked to produce "nopales" as an additional food. There could be vultures that harass zombies, and they could be tamed with rotten flesh...but if you attack them or scare them by rushing at them too quickly, they'd vomit on you which would deal 1 damage and inflict nausea. They could add a new sub-biome called "Oasis" which could have date palms growing...which would grow clusters of dates just below the fronds (palm leaf blocks) that you'd harvest the same way you do berry bushes (just right click the bunches to get between 2-4 dates per bunch). Date palm wood is beautiful in real life...sienna-colored wood with dark brown/black striations and grain. Finally, I'd like to see a new desert-exclusive enemy that isn't just a slightly tougher zombie reskin...I'm thinking maybe a manticore? Not quite a boss, but powerful for a regular enemy...it would have wings, a humanoid-lion face and body with a scorpion's tail. It could use two different attacks...a bite that deals a lot of upfront damage, or a sting which deals less raw damage but inflicts Poison II. Give it the ability to quickly leap and glide at the player, but not full flight.
The Entity Cramming thing should definitely be a thing. You set it to one. As a person who do a lot of command stuff, that is funny, and it is precisely what you asked for.

„You know how you guys sometimes accidentally strip“ ~Phoenix probably - 2:10
what if I purposefully strip
The cactus tree reminds me of how young trees have green bark.
The Entity Cramming thing should definitely be a thing. You set it to one. As a person who do a lot of command stuff, that is funny, and it is precisely what you asked for.

PHOENIX, may I have your ATTENTION for a minute ?
- we can now resize mobs to a very small size, that applies to bats also
- we can remodel entities since 1.13+ or idk
- we can make custom sounds for them too
- we can guve them permanent effects
=> Bottom of line : remodeled bats as fireflies (or simply flies, that depends on their speed/slowness effect). Why bats ? Because they have the most insect-like pathfinding pattern when they fly, compared to phantoms and parrots and other useless flying mobs.

Fun fact: A Tractus is part of the Requiem, liturgical music for the burial of the dead.
