this song is for Zhang Yimou 's live show"impression west lake". the West Lake is located in the city Hangzhou, the capital of China in late Song Dynasty(1127~1279). The West Lake is known to all Chinese people for its countless legends, among which the most famous and touching one is the story of a romance between a scholar and a snake fairy. Zhang Yimou choose West Lake to give this show just because of those legends, as well as its fantastic scenery. That's why this song sounds so magical :)
Had the chance to watch the opera live in China. Despite having no understanding whatsoever in the language, it is still a beautiful thing (the set and the portrayal) And when this song was sung... It was just... WOW.
