we (in the UK) already can place orders for the Ora Cat
I like the patchwork of styles far more than most car styling these days.
Absolutely agree after 54 years of mostly German ‚premium‘ and some Italian beauties e.g. Alfa Romeo Montreal or English Austin Healey as well as Jaguar E-Type and Limos. Actually I own one of the most beautiful Korean cars that has some retro in that remind me Pininfarina Ferrari or some famous Lancia. Driving however like a very actual BMW M-Sports car. No wonder Albert Biermann former head of the division for 30 years took that job at Hyundai group and my Kia EV6 AWD is for me just as beautiful as the Ora‘s and no of their new products can be called outdated or boring. I hate all these looking uniform SUV tanks cruising around where you can change the badges at will. It’s boring anyhow if you put Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, Cupra or BMW on and it’s for uniform and boring people. I met so many people that already wanted to know more about my Kia and looked at the car and it’s design. Ora got their USP and as a former Marketing Executive I think there is a market great enough for stylish AND performant cars seemingly not from this world. As life is getting harder the people who can with something to enjoy and the forms of a well rounded lady comes back after the actual box designs. They just forget about creating emotions together with environmental concerns and so everything is so ‚politically correct‘ that it obvious that more and more people like to be different. The Oras are very nice cars even the 4 door Beatle copy that could sell like the original…😂

My feeling is this model was supposed to undercut tesla then tesla ruined the party. Launch was delayed in Thailand, curious to see model and pricing when it finally hits market here
Hyundai Ionic 6 look alike at the back, a guy that was working for Porsche helped design the Funky Cat I think so Jonny Smith said I think
I saw one in the flesh at the UK Fully charged show and agree with your thoughts on the back. I think they were trying for a Bentley Continental GT look at the back but failed. Some people liken the overall side profile and front look to a Porsche Panamera but since it bears a very similar look to the smaller Funky Cat at the front I think some people will avoid it as people may mistake it for the smaller one. I test drive a Funky Cat so I know how nice the interior is and can be to sit in. If it costs the same as a Polestar or Tesla model 3 new, for me it would be the 3rd choice out of the 3 for that sort of money.

A slightly pre-production Ora Lightning Cat came to Fully Charged South LIVE Farnborough 2023 just recently. I expect it to be at the North show at Harrogate in mid-May. I thought it looked impressive up close, but... would I consider one over a Tesla M3? Hmm... What do you think? 😊
I drove a Funky Cat and liked it but was sceptical at £31K in the UK. The interior was nice and was impressive, however I since found that They sell them for $15000 in China so decided to forget them for that price. I also saw the Lightning Cat at the Fully Charged show, if they pitch the price as the same as a Polestar or Model 3 the Cat comes third for me.
I actually really like it, hopefully the cat noises on the touch screen are a setting connected to face id, so that my wife for example could have it meow she would love it, and when I drive it could just umm not.
I would get one just for the meow noises and pink colour!

Funky Cat already in UK but priced over $40,000! If the Lightening Cat gets the same makeup from Chinese prices it won’t standard a chance of selling here.

@@willmac5642 Spot on - it’s the distribution network that’s the issue with everyone getting a cut meaning the final price is ridiculous. I’ve seen a Funky Cat - nice car but no way is it going to sell at £32k plus here.

I would like if it was affordable. It's a shame it's not a hatchback, I don't get why these companies keep making saloons (sedans) they are just not family friendly or practical. I need a car that will take 2-3 kids in the back and a dog in the boot (trunk).
They need to fix the body roll and make it feel like a good sport sedan. And they need to make it about €5000 cheaper than a Model 3. And the cat sounds? Leave them shut off by default. I mostly like the styling.

The only reason to buy this over the Model 3 is because of price. But some of these companies are getting a bit greedy and thinking they can stick a 10k premium in export countries, only to find that no-one will buy them at the sort of prices demanded.
Looks way better than the model 3...and has way better autonomous driving capabilities. Teslas are level 1 max.

You are wrong about the level of autonomous driving being real, Sam.
Autonomy in vehicles is divided into six levels, according to a system developed by SAE International (SAE J3016).
Meaning the level 3 autonomous driving (eyes closed) is real.

The Chinese cars are a bit funky and to me don't follow western preferences in style . Kind of like those cheap Chinese tablets and gps units you can buy . Yes they work ok . They just seem to be if lower quality at first glance . I don't think paying top dollar for them is a good idea with the risk of the vehicle not holding up very well .

Pretty sure they have lithium ion batteries, that plus the looks is a no thanks. Their smaller cars look better, but same batteries.
Front drive is a drawback. Otherwise OK but not exciting. I'd prefer a VW Buzz. More versatile.
