Can your channel be set to auto translate? I like your channel but I can't get auto translate to Indonesian. looks like you should set it up in your channel's studio.
Hi Mo, I have just started my journey to become a data analyst and your videos have been super helpful. Especially this one as I had no experience in tableau, but your explanation and guidance in this video was simple and easy to follow, it made a seemingly daunting task seem easy to do. Thank you
Hi Mo! I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time of your day to create a tutorial on how to design a beautiful dashboard. I learned so much and can't wait to use what I learn for my future projects.
Thanks so much for the help Mo! I've been looking for a quality step by step Tableau project. I've been wanting to learn how to use it and make a project to learn better. This was BY FAR, the best tutorial I've found! Extremely thorough and helpful. Just published it to the cloud!
Hi Mo, if you could translate into sql what the tableau does with every command you do and every change on the screen, it will be possible to understand more deeply how the software works and you will show a very high level of the way the tableau works? If possible, also explain the relationship of the columns and the content in the columns and why the data changes as it does after the changes you make. Let's take for example when you pull a certain field and put it in column or rows and then there are changes in the display if you can explain why the software displays what it displays or what action the software does in order to display what was displayed as a result of the action you did in the tableau environment. Thank you, I hope I was understood
Dear Mo, thank you so much for this tutorial it makes perfect sense!! I'm able to follow through & replicate your dashboard and use map as an additional filter for the 4 worksheets (heatmap, distribution of housing prices/bedrooms/bathrooms). For my own practice, I would like to pick another dataset that can do similar things like this one, do you have any recommendations?? Thank you again for devoting your time and energy on this, amazing Mo!!
Really wonderful and interactive viz. Just replicated it from your video, learned a lot by repeating all the steps, even after taking courses for tableau
Hey I appreciate the content man. I only discovered data analytics in my last year of my bachelors in business marketing, so I only have a minor's worth of experience... I actually did lots of assignments and projects in tableau and sql, but they were very guided. I've been trying to apply to DA jobs but have come to terms with the fact that my resume is not up to par. I've spent all of 2023 so far getting my hopes up for jobs and interviews only to get rejected every time. So since then I've been taking certificates and such but its very surface level and I feel like my skills have been going to waste. So I'm finally trying to make a portfolio because I feel like I need repetition and hands on instead of following a course. I've been sitting for hours trying to come up with my own project but I find it very difficult. I tend to find it very hard to mentally connect the steps. For example I'm not sure of what the "flow" is from SQL to Excel to Tableau or when its best to use which one and for what purposes. I tried to come up with my own large scale project, using SQL to build a database before importing everything into Tableau, but I found it overwhelming. I guess I'm good at doing specific things in SQL and Tableau but I lack a lot of the big picture context and structure, so when I'm just sitting in front of a dataset trying to find a direction to go down I feel kind of lost. It sort of feels like when there's a word on the tip of your tongue but you can't remember it. I feel like I'm so close to seeing what I need to but I just can't. My question is would you recommend doing smaller projects showing individual showcases like your channel suggests? One project for SQL, one for Excel, one for Tableau, etc.? Or a large scale project that shows combination of skills? Do you think you could make a project concept showing a scenario where you combine multiple things from start to finish? Like finding a dataset online and going through your process of drawing a project out of that? Thanks man. Watched your video of a day in the life of a Data Analyst and it looked like my dream life. I just unfortunately am a long ways off from there.
Hi there 👋 I'm glad you like the content! To answer your first question - when you're just starting out with projects, I'd suggest you do smaller ones so you actually get to finish them and do a good job and feel good about it 😁 On your 2nd question, I have a couple end to end analysis / project videos on my channel already, feel free to check them out. The videos will walk you through everything from start to finish. And don't give up and keep working hard, and try and enjoy the process 😄 Remember that it took me many many years to get to where I am right now, it wasn't just handed to me. I studied, learned and worked hard consistently for a long period of time!
hey man, i can totally understand your pain, because I am in the same place, I spend to much time in learning Python, SQL, Probability and stats, and ofcourse tableau, Now i really want to do more projects as much as possible.
Again, such an informative video...could you please make a video on real life projects or work of data analyst..that will give us an overview on how many topics we need to cover in every module to become a good data analyst .. Thanks again for this video..much love and support 🙏❤
Mo thanks for the video, one thing I found was that some distribution of bathrooms on the x-axis would start with 1.8 instead of a whole number. I wasn't too sure how to fix it on the graph so I left it as it is. Maybe check the data and see why some bathrooms start with 1,8 :)
Hi Slinqee, I'm trying to start a porfolio, and read your comment, so do you follow @mo-chen step by step and you put this dashboard he did into your tableau public as your first practice? i hope not bother you with my question
Hello Mo, I just started Googles Data Analytics course today!! however i have been watching your videos for the last 2 weeks as i was looking for someone in the Data analytics space that hopefully would demonstrate portfolio projects. How lucky was i to find your channel!
Hi,Thanks for the tutorial I really enjoyed it 👏 and I added the evolution of the Sqft through time and a filter with zipcode.I have a problem with the bedrooms, I don't know why I keep on getting 212 houses with 0 bedroom 🥲 our graphs are similar but I have a lag.
Thank you for such an informative lesson for beginners. I have a question, is there a way we could add the Map as filters and make it more interactive? Any help would be appreciated.
After the tableau project is done, is it possible I can put in Powerpoint without losing all the dynamic visualization? What if I want to put in youtube with password to send to somebody to watch when I accomplish my future tableau learning.
Hello Thanks for this wonderful tutorial, I need help I got to the stage on how to create a parameter, I have an issue that has refused to go away. After selecting strings, add the values, I don't see the option to press okay for the parameter to be created. In summary, there is no ok option. Please help!
Hello, Thank you for valuable tutorial. May I know how can I ask the user to input the date when the hardware is changed. But that date is not used to filter the display graph. It is just to record for hardware information and later how can I retrieve that user input date information? Is it possible to store in one of the database's tables? The database was the one that I previously connected for the visualization purpose.
Hi Mo Chen, I enjoy your videos and I'm really amaze with your story too, it's inspiring 💪🏼 ok here's my question, you have a workbook with cases with tableau, for example, and I want to know if it's ok to replicate one of your analysis in order to practice and have something on my portfolio, please advice me? Thanks a lot for your content!
Hi, thanks for sharing your great work. In the sheet "calendar", What's the deal with the 'year' in the data? We already have 'Yr built,' right? In the square table, what do you want to tell with relationship between year and price?
Where should I save the raw data sheet? Should I save it in a random local folder or in the designated 'Datasource' folder in the 'My Tableau Repository'???
hi! great video!! I was working on a dashboard where I have month on month graph. Is there a way to put a filter for dates? so say, I select dates from 1 to 10, and the month on month graph will show graph for first 10 dates only for every month.
Hi mo, theres no better word to say than thank you for this dashboard, ive learn a lot about how to visualize data with tableu. But i just found out that my dashboard doesnt look interactive just like you. Like if i select any month , the right side such average month, map and the whole histograph at the bottom doesnt change, im very sure ive watch the whole video hopefully i didnt miss anything and i dont. And it happen with the british aircraft dashboard too. Is there something that you can help with this???
Hi Mo. I have a data set which shows the data in 5 year intervals so when I try and display the data in a line chart it shows huge peaks and troughs where the data is missing for the 5 year intervals. Do you know how I can show the trend over time accurately? This is in tableau also.
Hello Mo, Thank you so much so this step by step video tutorial. It was really helpful and I am surprised on how easy it is. But of c, with a little more practice (for me). Um, quick question, how do i publish or share my dashboard to the server? I tried that amd it says i should sign in to Tableau server through tableau cloud? I don't remember seeing a link for that when i activated it on my desktop. How do i get the link to my Tableau server
Can anyone please tell me about the key highlights and the things that are covered in this project in some brief amount of words to post this on LinkedIn
I'm using the free version of Tableau as well here. Maybe you're not using the latest version? We have a discord community where you can ask questions like this one and connect with others discord.gg/gYVBVrMh 😃

I have a question about the Bedrooms and Bathrooms Histogram, the number of bedrooms (bathrooms) should be interger, right? it's like 1room, 2 rooms, 3 rooms. How to Bins the data to show that interger
I'm glad you liked it! I don't think I'll be creating Power BI projects anytime soon as my preference is Tableau which is why I chose this BI tool on this channel 😃

Definitely intermediate because of the calendar widget 😃

Thank you Thank you!!!!
Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Sir, thanks for such a great video. Could you please share the dataset for this tutorial? I want to follow with dataset. Thanks again
@mo-chen
How is date for the line chart done the way you have shown.
I am not getting the drop down box?
Please help
Thanks man.
I'm glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
sorry if this is a stupid question, in the third chart, wouldn't it make more sense to change the price (column) into a dimension?
Hey Mo, can you make a video on how Data Analytics is used in Finance domain? Would be very helpful :)
Great idea, I put a note for myself!
hi! great video!! I was working on a dashboard where I have month on month graph. Is there a way to put a filter for dates? so say, I select dates from 1 to 10, and the month on month graph will show graph for first 10 dates only for every month.

You could show average values and opt for longer intervals like quarters for example. Thanks a lot for watching!
Suggestions for other data sets to make a similar dashboard with?

Very thorough tutorial ! Thank you !
This is usually done after data cleaning in, say jupyter notebook, correct ?
Yes, data visualization would be the last step. And yes, you could clean your data in a Jupyter notebook using Python. Thanks a lot for watching 😁
25:44 I don't know why the month filter doesn't impact the other visuals.
Can anyone please tell me about the key highlights and the things that are covered in this project in some brief amount of words to post this on LinkedIn
I've never seen a filter of this sort, I can't wait to make use of it! How do you get inspiration for dashboard styles like this?
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video 😁 I get a lot of inspiration from looking at others' dashboards and visualizations.
this is a fantastic tutorial but several options were not available to me, is it because I am using the free tableau version?
I'm using the free version of Tableau as well here. Maybe you're not using the latest version? We have a discord community where you can ask questions like this one and connect with others discord.gg/gYVBVrMh 😃
Hi Mo, I love your content and thank you for this amazing guided project. If someone actually creates this project, Is it okay for the person to send it to you? Just for a quick review.

Hey Mo, how did you drag your finalized dashboard at the end ?
Hi there 👋 I’m not sure what you mean by dragging the dashboard. Could you please rephrase your question?
I have a question about the Bedrooms and Bathrooms Histogram, the number of bedrooms (bathrooms) should be interger, right? it's like 1room, 2 rooms, 3 rooms. How to Bins the data to show that interger
You can easily create your own custom bin sizes by right clicking on your measure and clicking create bin 😃
How did you collect this data? I'm looking to create a dashboard like this for the Orlando and Miami areas
kaggle
You must have loved the purple iPhone
Haha I do actually have a 'Deep Purple' iPhone
We'll done mo👍🏼 doing really great job ❤️can you show the python one also
Thank you! There will certainly be more Python stuff coming as well 😃
great video!!!! I learned a lot in 30 minutes
Glad it helped 😃
Can someone explain at 25min, how did he drag and dropped the dashboard
Nice information vid but also you are crazy handsome !
Thank you 😃
Great and amazing video 👏 Would you please also do a power bi project?
I'm glad you liked it! I don't think I'll be creating Power BI projects anytime soon as my preference is Tableau which is why I chose this BI tool on this channel 😃
Dear Mo, where did you source the data from?
Thank you for making this video! Really enjoyed watching it. Is there any chance you can share where you got this data (like Kaggle link)?
I'm glad you liked it! The link is in the description box 😁
Hi Mo, appreciate the content! May I know if you will be keen to do tutorials on numpy and pandas in the near future?
I'm glad you like content! I will for sure have more Python videos coming and I will try my best to focus more on pandas and numpy. Thanks for watching 😃
Hello sir, i want to ask you about this PC : HP elitebook i5 8th 830 g5 , 16g RAM 256 SSD, if it is good to buy or not ?
I'm a beginner web development learner, i wanna learn this domain and everything related with, also graphic design and videos editing
It's good enough to start with for sure. It won't be a powerhouse but it'll certainly do what you need.
