As a salmon run player I can confirm there is always a flyfish on the screen.
Wrong, they are always somewhere but they got stealth until they lock on you

fly fish are literally broken in this game, you can land the bomb perfectly and then it’ll have a collision bug and shoot out of there completely. glad i wasted a full ink tank on a bomb that did nothinf
Fly fish are legitimately the worst part about this mode

if chargers could pierce their cockpit it would singlehandedly give the weapon class better usage + be a very easy nerf to flyfish. fighting it is not fun at all either

Fun fact: at higher hazard levels, it might be worth it to just cripple all 3 flyfish so you only need to deal with 1.5 of the fuckers rather than having a fresh new one appear with every kill you make. Kill stingers if you can though, they'll always be inking your feet if not outright killing you
Yeah tbh i should do that more often, but Overfishing requires me to get every egg for that extra stonks and points. 🗿

It really feels like there should be hard caps on how many of each boss salmonid can be on the map. 3 flyfish is a nightmare in solo...
There is a hard cap on flyfish. That hard cap is 3, lol
There is a hard cap of 3 for every boss salmonid.
As mentioned, there is a hard cap for bosses (Three of each) Its actually a strat in the higher levels ot just leave three flyfish with one bucket each (Either the red or blue one, whichever one shoots randomly) so you can have other bosses spawn and only have to deal with 3 buckets worth of missiles.
@@Swarming-LanguendoIt doesn't matter which launcher you take out. Once it only has one launcher it always aims at whoever is closest.

Here's a few "fun" facts about the fly fish
1: A single fly fish firing once can one shot your entire team more than two times
2: fly fish are the only common boss salmon that requires more than 1 full ink tank to kill
3: fly fish are 1 of 2 salmonids that can't be killed with your main weapon(except Explosher).
The other one is the mud mouth
4: they are 1 of 5 salmanids that can't be hurt at all times.
The others are Steelhead, Big Shot(briefly), Drizzler, and Maws
5: while the fly fish isn't crippled it will target the closest player + a random other player. If the fly fish is crippled it only targets the closest player
6:I think they should be nerfed
7: they're my least favorite Salmonid to see
8: Nintendo doesn't think that they're a problem because there has been many updates released and fly fish haven't been touched
9: fly fish are the embodiment of evil

Flyfish and Stingers are actually the most painful part about Salmon Run. Ironic…
Flyfish are by far the worst boss lol, global range, most ink required, not always available hitbox… and to finish it all off they’re also the most dangerous! Wow complimentsations nintendo for the incredible boss balance! 👏
No okay but seriously tho all bosses are equally annoying, Stinger a bit more than all of them a tier higher and then Flyfish being even more 2 tiers higher than every other boss in the game even worse than the Salmon King or Horrorboros. 💀
Why the hell are stingers even in the game the special they were based off of was literally removed

A thought just occurred to me
In salmon run, there's a limit of 3 flyfish on the field at once, right? No one's ever seen 4 of them. But according to the salmon run database, 4 is the actual limit in the game's code.
Is there a chance that there actually can be 4 flyfish spawned at once, and the fourth one is just waiting to come out? Is that why so many times, a third flyfish respawns the exact moment you kill the last one, it was literally waiting for a slot to open up?

It doesn’t make sense that the stingers still fire stingrays at you; they should fire wail beams instead, because then it won’t paint your feet while it’s damaging you, not to mention the lack of Ink Resistance.
And the target area for the stinger should be a circle, with target player depending on the condition, being the closest to the edge of anyone in the circle, or the closest in general if everyone is outside the circle, rather than whoever is furthest from it throughout the whole map.
Also, I’d like the Flyfish to fire chumps instead of missiles, or maybe give us more ways to take them out other than tossing two ink-hungry bombs, hoping they’ll stay in the baskets, all that, only to “reward” you with spawning more flyfish.
I remember DDee bursting onto the scene in Smash Ultimate when he played online with a since disgraced top player. Cool to see him playing Splatoon at such a high level too.

This is pretty much why I stop playing Salmon Run every time I try to restart playing it. We want to fight, and the Salmon want to hover near the edges of the map and spam us to death knowing we cannot get in range to toss a splat bomb.

@@trickygamer555 i agree but there should be a way to deal with flyfish faster. Stingers and big shots are ok because you can just deal with them but flyfish are extremely bad because you only have a small window to kill them and theres a lot of times when the bomb just wont stay in, other salmonids jump to defend the flyfish, etc. and now you gotta waste 10 seconds waiting for the flyfish to open again. Its just not fun.
Edit: gotta add, they were actually fine in splatoon 2…….when missiles didnt have a ridiculous splash radius. But thats not the case in 3, so yeah.
Genuinely just add better and more frequent night-waves and this could be a better mode.

I once had a rotation where I had 7 flyfish in one wave. 2 spawned at the start, 3 spawned in the middle, and 2 spawned and were left there at the end.
yeah flyfish and stinger need a limit of 3 per round, and 1 on the map at a time

I swear Chara juat has the craziest Salmon Run RNG. It feels funny to me (and I'm guessing to any of you how sees this comment), but I bet it very hectic for him. Also imo, the Inkjet fling was the best part, and it's really cool to see SR and some of erailer Big Rins too. Idk if it was either Oliy's or Chara's decisionto include them, but either way, great choice.

I've never thrown an egg at a boss or teammate as if it were a bomb but I have thrown bombs like an egg
The amount of Fly fish reminded me of that one stage from octo expansion, and got me thinking about how you have featured to every part of splatoon, but the story modes. Which are excruciatingly bad compared to octo expansion. And with side order coming around the corner, maybe you could play!

I think the Big Shots don't spawn nearly as much as the other globals, like Fly Fish, Stingers, and Drizzlers. It's ridiculous how many spawn and you can see in this video its like 5 per wave minimum at higher levels. I already really enjoy Salmon Run a lot, but I think better and more frequent night-wave events would make Salmon Run more interesting, as it's really stale and once you get to Eggsectuive it feels like you're just practicing dealing with globals so that when Big Run or Eggstra Work happens you can get a higher score, but the main mode shouldn't feel like that. More and better night-modes would make this mode feel more diverse
