  • Alignment videos are difficult to accurately capture all of what's going on this is a pretty lame attempt at a very difficult complex tasks that often results in the most boring of videos.

    I have a new old stock fujia reel to reel tube tape recorder from 1959. it still works great. it was one of the cheaper japanese recorders back in the day. it has a 35w4 rectifier tube. the caps seem to work fine. It's great to see somthing like you have still a new set never used. I would love to find a tv like that in really awesome shape. 😊

    @30:47. You mention copyright detection on youtube. Just to let you know. They watermark the shows with an invisible/inaudible signal that youtube looks for. It's an extremely low bandwidth signal(about 2 to 4 bit per second.) But it's very robust, able to survive most analog processing and distortion. That's how youtube detects copyrighted meterial.

    It's a shame that you haven't got any analogue T.V. stations on the air anymore to give the receiver a real test.I guess you folk across the pond used Vestigal Sideband A.M. for the video carrier like we did here to save spectrum space."Modulators" in consumer electronic products would usually be Double sideband A.M. video carrier and I'm guessing that this would be true of low power homemade analogue T.V. transmitters also.

    • @joyange1
      @joyange1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! RF modulators in consumer equipment did produce a double sideband signal. To add the HP filter that's needed to trim off some of the lower sideband would've just added more to the cost. Besides, feeding a double sideband signal to the TV had no effect on it performance. All it did was just bleed a little over into the lower ajecant channel.

    Can you offer any insight on a RCA CTC 16LX?
    ( I still gotta track down a bk sweep/marker generator model 415 and somehow make cables for it :/ )
    I still can't work out what the heck this means... in the SAMS about the IF video alignment , :o
    generator coupling
    “ Connect high side to ungrounded tube shield over Mixer-osc low side to ground “ huh?? :o
    I am still a LONG way away from the alignment point, I first must un-do the effect of it sitting in storage since the mid 80s, but since now that I found that the 21fjp22a is OK, ( long story ) I'm starting to restore it and sooner or later will need alignment help, as I have never done it before :/
    tks..

    • @shango066
      @shango066  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have lots of videos on that you need to spend some time looking through and watching. It probably doesn't need an alignment unless something's wrong, alignment is not nearly as important today as we don't use over the air signals

    • @suzakule
      @suzakule 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shango066 where as I am pretty sure IF coils, tuner and audio were not messed with, who ever had this before me, DID mess with the bandpass coils, so my only options, after I get this back up and and showing a raster ( and hopefully a BW picture again ) is to try and tweak them and pray they start working, or find a model 415 someplace, bust as stated, the cables are very hard to find, and I don't know how to use it, and the directions on the SAMS are a bit cryptic :/

    • @suzakule
      @suzakule 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Been looking and asking all day, and not even B&K has any info on the demod probe :/
      but I DID find this...
      is there any reason why this would not work?
      Like bread board it into a metal tube like a solder-sucker or something? :o
      www.nostalgickitscentral.com/heath/schematics/heathkit_schema_337c.pdf
      it's at least something that may work with the 415s that are out there for sale :/
