Dude, you need to please redo this video and explain things MUCH MUCH clearer and without using your own custom ways. Just do it from scratch using the code shopify already has.

I was having problems because in my Shopify there was way more code for language options, but I followed step by step, paying attention to every single little detail, and it worked with no problems, my problem was that I only copied and paste the names, at the end, I typed them instead and pum, it worked !!!

Hey Scott, I have added several sections from your tutorial and they work great - THANK YOU - One issue I am having is that the section I created from the banner section isn't displaying the same way it does on the homepage. The image is a different size. Im using the Brooklyn theme, any thoughts on why this might be happening?

When I finally got to the point where I had everything ready, I looked at the price for an eCommerce site and the ugly generic website the template, etc offered, amnd said, screw this. I bought html and css by Jon Duckett on amazon and watched some utube vids on the subject, including one by you, and after three weeks I can make a much much nicer website than most any i've seen 3-D effect borders around images, blocks and the page itself (ridge), colored backgrounds, images for backgrounds, precise font sizes. CSS is easy and awesome. Now I am studying javascript. Next month I'll be ready to get a hosting plan for less than 1/4 the price of a content managed site that gives me full control over m y content and no hidden extras in price. I highly recommend everyone interested enough to be watching this vid, to invest the time to at least learn the basics of html and css. It will open doors even if you use shopify or wix etc.

Just a question... Im able to put sections on almost every page/template type. Except for the article.liquid one. Would be great to built the blogspostst using a section like feature row and rich text here and there. But the elements somehow all show up UNDER, or ABOVE the tag. Any ideas how to get custom elements into the article.liq files?

Issue I'm having is that we are using the UFE Cross sell & Upsell app, but as it's not part of the template, we're having trouble implementing the app into the custom page. Any solutions for this? Thank you very much for this, I managed to create a custom page following your instructions which looks great. One question though, as soon as I published the new page, my front (hero) page disappeared. Does that mean I didn't correctly change the "image with text overlay" part? CTRL-F'd them all, but since you made this video it appears that Shopify has added in a whole bunch of different language variants for "image with text overlay" which I didn't change. Should I have done? Any idea how to get my front page back?
This is probably because you did not change the name of the file. Did you figure it out?

HI there thank you very much for this guide. Quick question though, if I wanted to create multiple pages using the same sections and I used your code {% section ‘My-Sections-Name’ %}, when I make an amend it is changing all the pages. Is there anyway round this?

I did the same thing and had the same problem at first. Then created a different template for each page, and edited the content of each page individually. Try doing the same. For example, you can name the sections 'custom-page-a', 'custom-page-b', etc, and create a new page template for each one.
I don't know if you're still reading:
Why can't I reuse the .liquids? Actually tried it with the default hero.liquid and works perfectly fine and didn't change the other page as well. Would love some feedback on that.

I copied the original hero section and pasted it to my new one and changed the name 2 times. Everything copied but doesn't let me add anything from the left hand side menu

The page template that you created using these sections, can you used this same template for multiple pages on your store? or do you have to create a template everytime you make new page? Is this template reusable multiple times?
I'm asking cuz some time ago I did something similar but then everytime when I changed something on one page, the other page that was using the same template I created, the contents of that page was also being copied or changed. Somehow the contents of template were being duplicated on all the other pages that were using the same template :/ I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Hi,
I'm using debit light theme for my carpet and rug store. And I will have variations for each product for that I need specific title for each variations because want to add variation details in my title. eg. *Xyz Shaggy Rug Red Color 3x5*. and this product has muti variation so whenever customer selects any variation the title should also be changed according to the variations. Plz suggest any option so I can optimise my product page.

I am using the Debut theme.I was attempting to edit the "hero section of code"..When I went to find the "name" in the code it wasn't there or I'm not sure what I am looking for.......In addition there was code like language about 500 lines...I don't know if that is useless or not....in your video there was only 100 or so....I did see the tag "name in that section but there was this multiple line of code between the parenthesis

If you can show me how to create a "Hero" slideshow section that loads and displays pictures directly from the product file, I'd be happy to pay for your service.
So, in theory we are basically copying the code of those sections but changing the name so it will show?
How about an intermediate html/css . Something like 3 hours of instruction. I'd also like to see some practical JavaScript. The basics one might use for a simple eCommerce website. It would be extremely helpful to many to learn at least enough to edit the code you use on your mock website you create to teach us. My personal interest is selling physical and digital copies of the books I write (novels and children's picture books) For one thing, I would like to have movement in the background. Maybe kids playing. Maybe movement in the books themselves. Any thoughts? If you aren't interested in teaching this, can you lead me to where I can learn this type of stuff?

I followed word for word (and letter), but the Template doesn't show up in the drop down when I edit a new page. Not quite sure where I went wrong. I'm guessing it should work with premium themes?

Please help!! I am able to follow the tutorial and get the page sections into the template like I want. But all of the formatting doesn't work and can't be adjusted. For instance, I am able to add a slideshow section, but instead of the text being able to overlay the image and display to the top right, bottom right, etc., the text does not overlay at all and just shows up below the image slider no matter what option I have selected for that section. Also, the button does not display as a button at all, but just as text. I also tried to add a different type of page section, this time dynamic Rich Text, which I also follow your instructions and was able to add. But then the formatting does not work, it is not centered or anything like on the home page when I use the Rich Text, option, instead it is just default formatting and left aligned, so it looks weird and does not match the website. Can you please direct me to how to make it to fix this issue? Thank you so much!!!!!

Thank you. For a new page template, you just need to click "add a new template" then it will ask "Create a new template for" select "page". Then type FAQ. Let me know if that helped

In the second part of the video, you created a "CUSTOM" page from the "my_custom_affiliate" file. I didn't follow where/when you created or found the "my_custom_affiliate" file.
Would you be able to elaborate on how I can create a custom file like you did?
I was just copy the code over. You won't have that one as I built it myself. You theam has built in all the standard functions. Just copy them over and change the name.

I'm using the Narrative theme.
@@meganramwa3729 I think "my custom affiliate" is just the name of a custom section he made before based on the "custom-content.liquid" section I suppose. That made it very confusing for me as well. You should note however that even the "custom-content.liquid" may not exist within your template or has a different name. Not sure if this method is applicable for different templates. I'm still trying to figure it out myself :P
