  • I know, I know, I probably did a million things wrong. This was kinda a rushed job but I’m still super happy with it. I guess that means Frenchic paint must be pretty damn good!
    I bought this unit from Facebook marketplace as I wanted it for some extra storage in my kitchen. I thought I’d paint it to make it suit the decor in my kitchen and not look super out of place.
    I lightly sanded (not sure it really needed this), then washed it and then sugar scrubed it. I painted it with 3 coats of Frenchic Smudge paint and it’s come out beautifully. There are some areas that could do with another light sanding and repainting but I’m actually not feeling that fussy about this project. I just wanted that STORAGE!

    Hello, your cupboard turned out Great! 😁 Love the colour 💕 I can't wait to see your Kitchen cupboards 😁 can you add the link for the Frenchchhic paint you used & where you purchased it please? 😁 Also that's my next job in my house, the Kitchen Cupboards & the rest of it 😋 I have brought some Kitchen cupboard paint from Wilko in a Slate Grey. Hopefully I will like it 😋💕 Erica x

    There are a few things you could have done to stop the chips, if you would have used an primer like, 'Leyland Trade Acrylic Primer' that would have helped a lot, also you could give it a wax, where the wax doesn't stop it chipping, it gives it a smooth finish, less snagging in on the paint that way.

      Ah, that’s super handy advice, thank you!

      Frenchic doesn't require a primer. It takes 3 weeks to fully cure. That's what caused the chips :)

      @@lauramccarthy8339 Lot's of things doesn't require a primer, then you would get less chips if you had. As I'm sure you know it very much depends on what you are painting and what it's going to be used for afterwards, if it's a display cabinet then no I would not use a primer, then if it was a table in use all the time yes I 100% would.

      Aw thank you!!! It's still in my kitchen and it just feels part of it now; like it's always been there. You can get the sticky back plastic/ vinyl wrap from so many places now. Search online or B&Q or B&M!

    Hiya would you recommend paint over dc fix on kitchen cupboards? My kitchen desperately needs an update but I've just bought new external windows and doors so wanting to do a cheap transformation on kitchen for now, also do you still have dc fix on worktop and would you recommend? thanks!

    • @MissMoogle
      @MissMoogle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve used dcfix on the cupboard doors before and it’s worked well! I like using it for just the top of stuff now though - especially the wood effect ones :D Yep, it’s still on there and I’ve just recently done another cheap kitchen makeover and the video should be up soon! :D

    Great job. Why didn't you use a Mini roller kit. Brushing is a faff. Try a roller, it's faster looked neater. No brush marks 👍

    • @MissMoogle
      @MissMoogle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I quite enjoyed using the brush. I had a roller ready but couldn't be bothered haha when it was dry you couldn't see the brush marks. As I said, it could do with a light sand in places and touch ups but I'm happy 😁
