  • This video is a general guide to safely navigating under the Langstone Harbour Bridge, Hayling Island, Hampshire UK by Motor Boat with the Canopy's/Bimini up. When deciding to make this trip harbour to harbour rather than going out into the solent, I couldn't find any video other than a small dinghy sailor at low water going under the bridge, so I took lots of advice from experienced mariners of the Eastney Cruising Association before attempting it. With this in mind I thought it might help other motor boaters planning such a trip to see a video of the navigation. One important point is, It would help greatly if the bridge had tidal markers on it showing the clearance to water ..... may be something the two harbour authorities might like to address in time. Happy boating...!

And a 4.1m tide at Langstone is at the neap end of tides. You had plenty of room anyway (I’ve been under the bridge twice on sailing dinghies, once on purpose...). Happy sailing 👍🏻

The clearance is stated for Highest Astronomical Tide.
