    Always install a new driveshaft bellows after this seal failure, as the gear oil will have contaminated the bellows with oil, and the oil can quickly rot the rubber bellows causing it to split. Your bilge can then fill with water and the boat may sink rapidly👍

    Very helpful video, I have a Beko DFN16420X, and was able to pull out the old lower door seal, and replace with the new seal, without having to unscrew anything, very easy. The dishwasher hadn't gotten to the stage of leaking, but after pulling out the old seal which was in very bad shape, I think I have replaced it just in time. Thank you!

  • @philippatten2766
    @philippatten2766 ปีที่แล้ว

    Be very wary of this solution. The hinge has two set screws which fix the hinge to the door. When you remove the screws the end of the hinge pressed against the thin stainless steel door pressing with a very substantial force and deforms the pressing. When reassembling it is only possible to reinsert one of the two screws. I eventually had to dismantle the spring assembly behind the side panel and enlist the help of my son. I believe the seal can be simply pulled off and replaced as it's a push fit. BEFORE UNSCREWING ANYTHING TRY PULLING THE SEAL OFF.

    • @MrRossYoung44
      @MrRossYoung44 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure why as I didn't have a problem just make sure you support the door properly, I note also a number of people have said they've slid the seal in without the need the slacken off the screws to the hinges to much.

    It is just a push fit on a Zanussi (which I think is the same manufacturer) with the simple rubber strip (no complex metal bits). Just pull the old one out check the orientation and push the new one into the slot. 3 minute job. Mind fingers on the sharp metal slot edge. This video at least tells you what’s what but helped to confirm that no need to unscrew anything. The Zanussi video shows how to replace the main door seal in the same way.

  • @gonville1964
    @gonville1964 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a note that on a Zanussi, check model, if the seal is a simple strip (as in this video for the BEKO) then it just pulls out of the slot and can easily be pushed in in about 5 minutes. No screws need removing. Other models have a complex metal/rubber seal that may need the front panel off. There is a zanussi video that shows the main door seal being pulled and replaced in 3 minutes. No screws. The lower door seal is the same. Pull and replace. Just make sure you check the orientation.

      Easiest way is to tie a line outside of the boat to the one you remove extracting it from inside the engine bay pulling the guide line through with it so to install pull the new line back through with your line, there is a bit of a dogleg in the sump area so you may need help to wiggle the new feed but it will come through 👍

    Thank you. I have a 1998 Bravo engine that I was trying to adjust today after having removed the distributor. Your clue that the "Denso unit" tries to adjust the timing if that lead is not ground out just gave me an idea with something I was struggling with. I did not ground out the purple and white lead, and the engine kept surging. Was wonder how in the world the engine can possibly surge without me touching anything. Well, if the TB unit is adjusting timing on the fly, then that would explain it. Will try it again after grounding that lead. Thanks.

    • @MrRossYoung44
      @MrRossYoung44 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you don’t set the distributor at 15 degree BTDC the density would try and correct causing your engine to surge .. did you mark your distributor before removing so when you reassembled you were so where in the right place. You will need a strobe light and earth the purple lead to reset correctly 👍
