    I would like to add as someone who is Elite in Exo, it is a general rule of thumb that atmosphere landables with less than 0.27g will have good value biology, as the majority of high value exo requires this. I also recommend searching for water thin atmosphere landables with < 2g and

      @@PaSt1984I would like to add, that you don't need to engineer an Artemis suit at all. I have been using the stock suit and it works just fine anyone that feels they need the bonuses you get from an engineered suit, isn't doing it right.

    Great guide - I'd like to note for anyone out there recently returning to the game that this is actually a great accompaniment to D2A's previous videos for the plasma charger AX build which requires a permit lock. I used the Xeno biology and Exploration data gathered in this guide to unlock the permit locked system required for the AX build video.

    Thank you (as always) for the video Astro. I've never done any biological scanning in ED and after this video I went out and tried it with your guide on Commanders Toolbox. I did it for just one afternoon, the first three planets you listed and returned home making 100,000,000! Excited to try more and start saving up for a fleet carrier. Thank you!!

    I have to get myself a PC … I’m still on console playing Elite Dangerous. This game is truly remarkable. One reason I love it because this game Community majority is so mature. The kids can’t handle this game here. You really need to be patient and truly it takes time to get from a to b.

    1:40 it actually kinda does matter what colour of blue, Fdev made the shading really large and a lot of species that you'll only find on flat ground will have some steep mountains shaded in, or vice versa. I'd recommend learning the types of terrain that you find something on, so you don't waste time looking in a mountain range for Bacteria.
    I'd also recommend looking in the Codex for the colony distances, helps to get the right distance every time :)

      I would say, for any plant selected in the filter, what you are looking for is the lighter blueish green, thats the Hotspot for that selection and often will have more than one variety present there.

    When you're flying over the planet looking for plants it can be useful to turn on night vision. The plants then tend to show up as bright green blobs (even if the planet is lit by the sun) and it can be easier to find them.

  • @aaronhowe3523
    @aaronhowe3523 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Great tutorial as always. The only thing I'd add is I don't really think you need the list. I just tend to jump about 1200ly out from the bubble in any direction and usually most systems that far out have been scanned so the system map shows which planets have atmospheres. You can then check to see if the planet is mapped and if not I then usually go over, scan it and then land if there is Exo on it. This way you know nobody has already scanned those before.
    I find that the first report bonuses are so good that it's well worth doing Exo on new planets rather than doing old ones. The bonuses I get range from 4 million for bacteria to 50 million for some of the others. I had a session today and made 585 million in about 4 hours so well worth it. I'll be able to afford a fleet carrier eventually :D

    4:26 I noticed that blue areas are shown for some plants, but you won't find any of them there unless you search at/below/above a certain height. I once had to land my ship at the foot of a mountain range (after finally spotting the plants from the air), drive up in my SRV, and at some point even continue on foot. A two hours trip or so, but I loved it. At one point I even slid down a ravine, not sure if I could return to the area where I needed to go. It was great. Also I could never leave a planet without having collected the genetic data for all the plant types there.
    That said, exobiology is otherwise terribly boring except for the beautiful screenshots you get on every 5th planet or so. It's a nice guide, but I just cannot imagine to follow it just to earn a few billions. Like all other money printing or fast material farming methods out there, it kind of kills the fun for me just to think about them.^^

    • @Runescape.
      @Runescape. ปีที่แล้ว

      yes its really boring but a new player can make 500m easily fast that way to buy any good ship they want.

    • @joetuktyyuktuk8635
      @joetuktyyuktuk8635 ปีที่แล้ว

      One thing I'd like to add, even if you are an old hand at Exo, if you should find yourself getting tired with hunting down that seemingly fungoidia in the steep mountains that never seems to grow anywhere. I tried this the last time I was in the bubble, and the first landing site there was tons of 4 different high values all around the ship... I just ran around in a circle, trying to decide what to sample first, even though they weren't first discoveries, was still a bit of a rush.

  • @badbadger8002
    @badbadger8002 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great guide as always. A couple of tips I've noticed while collecting xeno-biology samples are: some of the more valuable plants only grow in mountainous regions, a small ship like DBX is easier to land; within the blue regions there are different tones, the lighter tone within the blue has the higher concentration of plants; haven't found bacterium worth more than 1m yet, so if you're struggling to find it, move on.

    • @joetuktyyuktuk8635
      @joetuktyyuktuk8635 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree on the bacteria, most are 1 million base to 1.6 million... the higher value ones must be pretty rare because I haven't found any of those. I have to admit though, I am stubborn... I spent 2 hours looking for one type on a dark ice worlds, only to find if you are more than a few meters away with the srv, it disappears, even with the overhead camera suite. It became a matter of principal with me that I find it, not about the money, because I knew I was in the right area.

    One thing you forgot to mention is the right click scan. This could be handy for new commanders and can save a good couple of minutes on planets with 3 or 4 plants.
    Also the Spansh road to riches site also has exobiology now with a few good filters and is good for those that don't have a great jump range right now. As long as you have an FSD that can get you just over 10Ly in one jump then Spansh is the ideal starting point.

    Saw this and had to try it out as a wing. I put 3 accounts on a Krait MK2 and found it to be a very effective way to make credits.
    Each account has to juice each plant, but it yielded 3x the credits. (I really do wish they would make exobio scans count for everyone in the wing, that way a team of exobio could scan a planet/system and credit everyone in the wing.)
    The MK2 has a small enough footprint that I could land it in the mountains, but it was very tricky.
    Be prepared for random crashes and disconnects though. OMG the bugs.

    I guess I get just following a list. But it's still better to just go out in a random direction until you find a unexplored area for the 1st scan bonuses.
    Now unless they're flying a big large/medium ship on mountainous or rocky surfaces. The srv is 100%slower.. takes 10-30secs to take off fly 1km and land on top of the next bio.

    It took me about an hour to scan 3 target plants (+1 plant on the list) and grant me around 60mil credit. Certainly I may reach the 100+ mil/hr goal if I (can?) double my proficiency. But the problem is that these plants are scattered only in their own areas, which means I have to super cruise and get back to find another species. Even though I tried to find areas where they overlap on heat map, never had I found to target species in 1 area.

    no water
    no cloud cover
    no atmosphere
    and just how are there plants ?
    it looks like they just spawned them on a barren rock.

      Ah but according to the apologists this is a scientifically accurate 1:1 galaxy and space is boring so the boring plants are realistic. Somehow only our solar system has planets with weather

      I moved from PS5 to PC, I am loving it so far, oddy only cost me a tenner so its a no brainer, if you like the game that much anyway.
      I still cannot accept that fdev cannot get this to run on PS5.

    If they would have just let us scan everything in any order, without having to do the 3 by 3 bs, more people would have been doing it without the pay increase.

    Using SRV for Exo-Bio is a waste of time. It's much better to fly in a small ship like SW, Eagle, Hauler or Adder - they can land pretty much anywhere and you'll be able to see the organics from way further away than you ever would in an SRV.

    This is the problem with this game. Exobiology is a laughably bad game loop that is the apex of uninspired and mediocre game design. It doesn't matter how much it pays because it sucks.

      I'm not 100% sure on the wing exo- biology mechanics.
      I think if one person in the wing has made all 3 scans the rest only need to scan it once to get the full effect. But don't quote me on it
