you can tint your binder as well. for example, burnt sienna mixed in with the binder, then you can paint a sea green wash all over, and when you wipe away, it may resemble rocks and water.
hi jinx yes I did something like that in one of my experiments a couple of years ago also the same as what Gerda is doing here. Great effect.

Ich verwende eine Acryldispersion, die etwas gebunden und deshalb nur zähfließend ist.

I would like to paint over one of those mass-produced prints on stretchers. It's either oil-cloth or canvas (I'm not that well-versed as a painter). To cover and prepare the surface, can I use primer such as you'd put on walls before painting? Or should I use a colored gesso mixture instead? I want iit to be ready for whatever I do to it afterwards, whether it be watercolor, tissue texture, or texture created with a gel or gesso medium. Anyone know the answer? Will either work?

Hello, I use acrylic medium or acrylic paint or a mixture of both. you can do it with nearly any medium or paint, but the texture varies depending on the consistency.

I put it in a little squeeze bottle with a long tubelike dispenser tip that tapers so it can be cut to different sized holes.

Hallo liebe Gerda. Hab ich auch mal gemacht, aber mit der Heißklebepistole...ist für mich jetzt von der Handhabung einfacher. Ich glaube, mit meinem Binder würde das nicht gehen, der ist zu flüssig. lg
+leoQueen23 Ja, mit der Heißklebepistole geht es auch. Es lohnt sich aber auch, mit etwas flüssigeren Medien zu probieren, das gibt wieder andere Ergebnisse, wenn aber alles ineinander läuft, macht es natürlich keinen Sinn mehr. Viel Spaß beim Ausprobieren!

Gesso ist eine Grundierung, kann man auch fertig kaufen im Fachhandel (z.B. Boesner oder gerstaecker)

+leoQueen23 Ich benutze wirklich für dieses Video boesner guardi Binder. Der ist allerdings schon länger im Gebrauch, dann verdunstet das darin enthaltene Wasser und er wird zähflüssiger. Falls es bei Dir mit Binder nicht klappt, kannst Du, wie ich schon im Video erwähne, auch Gesso oder einfach weiße Acrylfarbe nehmen. Ich hoffe, das war jetzt genau genug....? LG

+leoQueen23 Nein! Bitte nicht den Binder offen stehen lassen, dann hast Du flugs eine "Haut" drauf! Bei mir verdunstet das Wasser auch, wenn der Deckel drauf ist (ist nie hundertprozentig dicht). LG Gerda
