Create a background with the Decalcomanie technique - beautiful organic textures!
Für diese seltsam wundervollen Texturen benötigst Du nur eine glatte Plastikfolie/Glasplatte/Kunststoffplatte, etwas Kleister (oder Retarder) und wenige Acrylfarben. Diese alte Technik nennt sich Decalcomanie (Abklatsch-Technik) und es lohnt sich, damit zu experimentieren. Den entstandenen Hintergrund habe ich in diesem Video zu einer abstrakten Landschaft weiter ausgearbeitet. Die Strukturen der Decalcomanie eignen sich auch sehr gut, um Landschaftselemente wie Bäume oder bizarre Felsen anzudeuten, aber auch andere Deutungen sind möglich. Der Künstler Max Ernst hat diese Technik in einigen seiner Bilder ebenfalls umgesetzt.
For these strangely wonderful textures, all you need is a smooth plastic sheet/glass plate/plastic plate, some paste (or retarder) and few acrylic paints. This old technique is called decalcomania and it's worth experimenting with. I have further elaborated the resulting background into an abstract landscape in this video. The structures of decalcomania are also very suitable for suggesting landscape elements such as trees or bizarre rocks, but other interpretations are also possible. The artist Max Ernst also used this technique in some of his paintings.

Hallo Verena, ja, das geht auch auf Leinwand. Um gut Druck ausüben zu können, kannst Du unter den Keilrahmen ein Buch legen. Außerdem wird die Struktur der Leinwand die Strukturen der Decalcomanie ein wenig verändern.

What kind of plastic cheet do u use technigue?
It is a strong, smooth film that does not wrinkle. The material is called RENALON. You can perhaps look for document covers in stationery or office supply stores, but they should have a smooth surface.
