It's good to see people still enjoying my uncle. We called him snooky. I play bass so I play along like old times in the 80"s when he was staying here in Philly. We would get our jam on.

I was a DJ back in the early 2000s for the most popular jazz station in the St. Louis Metro. Charles Earland was one of our most requested artist. The Mighty Burner was a personal favorite.
Where is his final resting place, I'd like to pay my respects if I'm ever anywhere near there!
I wasn't able to attend the funeral. He was buried in Chicago but I will ask about the exact location and get back to you.

Bought this CD when I lived in LA, 96 or 97. This groove is especially tasty. Thank you for dropping this magnificent recording for all to hear. The Mighty Burner lives on, always and forever!!

Percussionist on this cd is listed wrong in credits! It's Gary Fritz on percussion. This was my 1st recording session with Burner that lead to me being the percussionist on his last few albums before he passed away. They got my name right on the rest of the recordings after this one and this cd got decent airplay when released❣️ Thanks again Charles Earland for the love❣️ Back at ya❣️ Gary Fritz 🎶👍🏽😎❤️🌈

Gary, you did an amazing job on this record. And it was a great Idea to put the percussion loud and clear in the mix! I like it. I never had the chance to see the Mighty Burner live - but I really would love to at least on a video.... !!! Even there are no live footage on you tube (beside of the one organ summit clip). I think somebody must have some VHS Cassettes? Please load them up

I been a Charles Earland fan for years. Before this Coronavirus pandemic 😷 came on the scene, you could take a female friend “with the night on the town” as my grandfather would say and go to jazz clubs. Good food, good drink and great service. You dress in suit and tie with dress shoes. (NO SNEAKERS and SWEAT SUITS!!). His music reminds me of San Francisco Jazz Scene on North Beach.

What years was there a Jazz Scene in North Beach please? I was hanging out there in 1997 and there was only 2 Jazz clubs at that time...... Must have been great in the 1950's and '60's? I wonder about the'70's and '80's there?
@@ignorecorporatenews, it was the San Francisco Jazz Festival. This was around 95-97. (I don’t know if it’s still around because of COVID.) However, it was at different venues around the city.
Most baby boomers (the old and young end ones) knew about Charles Earling by 1971 which by the way, was wwwaayy before the pandemic. 😒 No one seems new here to me.
@@boomerang905, I think you missed my point. I was talking about the 90’s and 2000’s. My wife and I were regulars at jazz clubs. Before I met my wife, I tried to get young women I dated to go to jazz clubs. But hip-hop were their favorite.

This is the EPITOME of cocktail lounge jazz. A solid funky Groove that swings from beginning to end! Definitely one of my all-time favorites. I have the original 12-inch LP.
