      I think it may has something to do with her vibes. Her videos remind me of the stereotypical american-teenage-years settings, which were at the epicentre of my youth, as I grew up with american teenage movies (and games ex. life is strange). Those movies were all about freedom, love, ingenuity, growing up in a bubble and discovering new emotions. The reminiscence for something that never happened may be connected with the nostalgia for times that didn't actually exist anywhere except in your mind. And they are distant, non-tangible. Her music choice/videography helps with that.
      At least, that's me. I wonder where are you from.

  • @GriffinMagleby

    felt these same feelings and emotions not too long ago. but something i try to remember is that just because i’m an adult and i’ve moved away from my childhood, doesn’t mean i have to stop having fun or playing like a child. I try to continue to do the things I love and feel like a kid as often as i can. we don’t have to grow up or get boring. life can always be fun. :)

    • @trevorperry11
      @trevorperry11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      For me it's my forced isolation from my toxic and emotionally abusive mother. I never experienced what "hanging out" with friends felt like and actually "having fun". I'm always fearful and full of anxiety because of the toxicity all my life and because of that, I am socially awkward and don't know how to talk to people. People say that adult years are trash but for me now, and in my case, it's one of my brightest hopes

    • @daveforz
      @daveforz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Depression is rough, no denying that, but sometimes jumping in your car and driving somewhere new makes you forget it about it momentarily, and those memories you create give you moments to look back on when the days get rough.. I’ve only ‘lived on the road’ for weeks at a time. Not in a van, but in whatever car I had at the time (Corolla/Prius/etc). Those trips were definitely worth it for me. I think if every person experienced life on the road, the world would be a better place.
      Hope you take the jump into vanlife one day :)

    3:03 - 3:23 I had this exact same feeling the other day. I am four days away from finishing college and it crept up on me. I was sitting in my last lecture when I noticed that it was my last lecture as an undergraduate. Despite knowing that we don't have endless days we often treat life as such. I only notice "my last days" when they're happening, which I guess is still better than not noticing. During the last week I had my last time in the library, my last walk home from college, and I am about to submit my final assignment. It's a weird feeling. I'll probably move out soon so there are more “lasts” coming up and many that I’ve already had without realising. Of course I can do these things again in the future but as you've said it'll be different.
    Quote on the right moment: “If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything is ready, we shall never begin.” - Ivan Turgenev

    As a young van traveler too, my only advice I could give to you : always park for the night somewhere you feel safe, even if it means driving to another spot. No safety feeling is the worst thing to experiment at the beginning in vanlife.
    Have a nice trip guys

    Natalie, it is abundantly clear that you are wise beyond your years. The changes happening in these early days of your life may feel overwhelming and challenging, but they are merely marker-stones on your million-mile path. You have so far to go. You are only just beginning. I see the same wandering adventurer in you that I had in myself when I was 24. Nothing and nobody was ever going to stop me from seeing the world and exploring new places and new things. Cherish these days of your fleeting youth, because you will never again be as young as you are right now. Happy trails! :)

    I'm glad other people are going through the same thing as me. I relate to this so much since I'm graduating high school in a few weeks and I'm planing on doing a gap year next year. This is what feels right for me in this moment but I can't stop thinking about my teenage years and childhood and even though I have so many plans and I'm so exited for the future, I'm kinda scared of starting adulthood. I've never travelled on my own and it's something that I always wanted to do and I'm finally going to make it real, but having all these experiences that I've been wanting also means growing up and leaving home in a way. So I also have this bittersweet and nostalgic feeling, but I'm exited to see what the future holds :)

    Your introspection for your age is quite remarkable, and admirable, and will serve you well in the years to come. Your twenties are a time for learning about and understanding about who you are. Enjoy these years, they pass even more quickly than the two decades prior. And thank you for sharing your journey with us!

    "You cant waste alot of time waiting for the right moment"Im 30 now and have done the exact same thing your doing (which is amazing beautiful!!! I Love It!) I can garentee 100% there NEVER is a right moment. All you can ever do is just go. Youll never meat meet your expectations for prep or saving to do it. you just gotta go. Just send it! Its all about life. In the end the only thing that matters is the memories and good times. Always and forever "Happiness is only real when shared".

    As an art major in college right now who feels very boxed in by society, you are such an inspiration to me. Like you are living your life your way, while still hustling, while not giving a fck what anyone else thinks. And you have connections with other people, genuinely. Meaningful ones. I envy your life, honestly. I hope to have friends like this one day who would be willing to travel in a van across the country with me lol

My son is around your age and I wish he had your passion to travel and take on projects. Makes me with is was 28 again. Build a van and do the same traveling. Keep up the good work. We all support you and your journey.

    When one of your friends said how you girls are all in a totally different space from when you were 13, youre so right. I had to smile because when you're 28 like me, you'll have come so much farther and have another different view of the world. I still have plenty of time to do what I want in life, I just wish I had taken advantage of it when I was your age. Your video made me all sappy and nostalgic now. Best of luck to you Natalie! I was genuinely emotional watching this. You've thoroughly encompassed and reflected your passion in philosophical concepts of happiness in such a romanticized manner and I couldn't be more in love with the creativity and aesthetic of your videos. Congratulations on new beginnings - and good luck on your adventure :)

    This feels so surreal. I’m 18 and I graduate tomorrow. I’ve been homeschooled, I don’t even have my license yet, and I’ve just found out that I’m going to go to a special school this fall. Meaning I need to learn to drive (oops lol), get my license, get a car, and maintain a stable income for gas so I can travel to said school a few times a week. My life has been comfortably the same for about 4 years now, and everything is about to change. So you posting this when I literally graduate tomorrow is so timely, and I can’t wait to watch you embark on a whole new chapter of life. Here’s to growing up, and to change, and to this brave new chapter.
