"You are whole"... i dunno why, it made me shiver. The first ending is the exact mirror of the Good one. Shart can be a Whole with romanced Tav and her parents. But she can be a whole also as an evil person. Oh! And it's interesting her first victims are Sharrans and Selunites. She ends hating both the goddesses. And I think it fits better than the others!
I think it makes sense she can end up hating both. Selune is very hands off, “let them find their own way” in ideology. Allows child Jenevelle to be kidnapped along with her devout parents to be tortured for 40 years. She also leaves Aylin to be trapped by Shar and Ketheric for 100 years. Her own daughter. And Shar actively indoctrinated her and manipulates her like a puppet.
@waimarieheap5608 yup! This is why I find it interesting! But bear in mind a thing: in Forgotten Realms, Gods can't intervene in mortals' lives, not directly, at least. They can guide them, bless them, but never intervene. This is what Ao decided. But they can choose a mortal who acts for them. And this is what Elminster and Gale explain to us. Even God Gale, in the epilogue realizes it. And I think he also understood why Mystra wanted him to wait. Mystra was a mortal, before she replaced the previois Mystra. She learned she can't do what she wants. So she had to wait and be sure Gale really deserved what he was asking to her. Only evil gods, usually are source of troubles. I mean, they're evil, after all xD This is also why "Whiters" (Jergal) tells us he can't do anything. And I'm pretty sure he has ben sent by Ao to keep an eye on the Drad 3. After all, if they became gods... it's his fault lol
Every origin character has one special Absolute ending tailored for them (the first option). The other four are default options that everyone can choose.
@@MayaPatch Sure, but like Mystra does help Gale quite a bit. She has elminister deliver a halt to Gale’s orb consuming magical artefacts. If he purges the Shadow magic in Balthazars office, she grants him a temporary boon, if he promises to bring the Crown to her after reading Karsus’s Annals, she grants him another blessing. Seems like a lot of help. Selune empowers Shadowheart when Shar forsakes her, or has been all along, and forgives her for killing Aylin if she turns from Shar to save her own parents. But that’s about the extent of her help. She sends no Chosen to aid her own demigod daughter, nothing for two of her most pious followers and their young daughter. If your god can’t protect you from the machinations of her own evil sister, what good is she? What good is worshipping her?
I was kind of hoping the Evil Shadowheart ending would be “In Shar’s name you will purge existence of Selune and her followers. Then, all other gods until Shar remains. Goddess of All.” And then Shadowheart would say when sitting “In Shar’s name.”
This is kinda like Ascended Shadowheart. she's either a demigod that uses shar/selune powers with absolute autonomy or she eventually asecnds and devours them both
If not for the whole slaughtering of innocents, this would be my favorite ending for Shadowheart. I wish she had a good ending where she can renounce both goddesses.
Given how shit the actual city of Baldur's Gate is lore-wise, its really satisfying that Larian gave us some peak evil endings for burning that city to the ground.
If this was destroying Silvery Moon, Candlekeep, or even Waterdeep I would be upset, but Baldur's Gate is just a giant corrupt shit hole filled with cultists. It's loss isn't a bad thing.
Huh I'm rather disappointed it seems like this is mostly the same as non Durge endings, just replacing Tav with Shadowheart. I was hoping Shar herself would play a bigger role, like Shadowheart claimed the netherbrain for her. Wish they can flesh out what the first option is like. What would Shadowheart's new church be like, etc.
Ao is the overgod of the forgotten realms pantheon. They are essentially the Capital G god of gods, and can very easily rewrite reality as they please. The reason why the dead three are called that in the first place is because AO stopped them of their god status and cast them down to the mortal plane, leading them to be killed by mortal adventurers. Whenever there needs to be a massive setting rest, AO is usually the reason for it.
Could have been more evil if this is Selunite Shadowheart: Isobel being among the Selunites being killed and a Mind-Dominated Dame Aylin standing at her/Shadowheart's side being the new goddess' sword.
That's sad, could have been even more evil if Isobel is among the slayed Selunites and Mind-Dominated Dame Aylin stands there now being Shadowheart's slave
I mean I didn’t watch any of the other’s endings, but that’s kinda crazy 😂 especially the last one. & I wish they talked, I wanna hear Shadowheart voice this lmao
Honestly a Shadowheart who is still worshipping Shar should of had an ending where she basically kills the world given that is what Shar's ultimate goal is.
I think Shar implicitly tasks her with the destruction of the brain, since it hinders her schemes to expand her influence by claiming more followers... this often baffles me about Shar in the lore, how she's more of an impenetrable, petty, long term schemer than an entity which actively pursues the end of all things like Bhaal does (or at least, that would be the case in Bg3. DnD's Shar is way more unhinged and played a crucial role in most of the notable cataclysms that befell the realms).
If this is the Shadowheart's dark justiciar full Sharran evil ending, this doesn't make any sense at all. I was expecting SH to install a Sharran theocracy. Why should she go full rogue like that?
Well she chose to be dark justiciar because of fear , shes not made by her god like dark urge. She remembers how mother superior and Shar tortured her for years. Now shes got the power , hates both Selune and Shar equally.
Bit of a weird one. Considering there's a handful of mindflayer colonies on Toril in the underdark and they are all led by an elder brain. None of them are a sudden threat to planets and worlds. Toril would be Glyth 2.0 faster than you could blink otherwise. "Every god shall perish." Yeah... no. No. Not happening. Ao, the Overgod, which probably no one new to D&D even knows to exist, would immediately make that simply not happen. Literally.
I kinda dont get why you cant dominate them to follow either of your gods. Why not give us a mad Selûnite version and a devoted Sharran version. Shadowheart either dominates everyone for Selûne who then strikes her down for that madness or she does it for Shar and Shar rewards her for her ingenuity.

The tiefling girl laughing maniacally at the end while repeatedly stabbing her victim is just absolutely chilling.
You can pick that option with a normal Tav playthrough. The first option is based on the origin character.
So, magical Crossed.

She is now a God in her own right. Why play fealty to Shar
Once you dominate the brain, your power is the same as the god themselves. So theres no reason for shadowheart to follow shar anymore
Even the Durge ending is the same as the Tav one unless you sided with Bhaal.
Also, Shar wanted Shadowheart to destroy the brain, at least from what I gathered from Viconia's dialogue. Taking this route is obvious exile
