I just love how forward thinking this bond car was. I mean they didn't even have touchscreen phones but still had a touchpad controlled car, Fingerprint scanner, Voice assistant, Obstacle detection, Speed alert etc. This scene did amaze me at the time, like a glimpse into the near future.
My father used to run a security automation company. I remember 25 years ago, touchscreen controls for DVR cameras existing, for ''High end'' customers who found such not really refined tech very class in 1996, instead of good old joystick control unit. The technology was there, it was never imagined to be in mobile phones for certain.
Love the fact at 7:25, Bond casually drives his car off the roof onto someone's place of business, and surprisingly no one's hurt and he is mighty proud of himself. Also only the sharp-eyed would notice the rivalry between Bond's BMW and villain's Mercedes at 5:08
Well for one, what’d you expect, it’s James Bond! There was no one to get hurt, everyone cleared the way, and he’s just way too lucky and for two, he just infiltrated an enemies’ base, remotely controlled a BMW and that too like Michael Schumacher himself, and you think he wouldn’t be even proud of himself?
I also found it amazing that the BMW jumped from a high roof and crashed in the rental car agency but no one got hurt...It was hilarious because...Well... You're supposed to return the car anyway...I miss those Bond movies where things didn't always make sense but it was pure entertainment...Sure, there was a bit of violence here and there but who cares ?? These movies were so enjoyable...
Q division is so advanced that they knew Bond would encounter a steel cable in this mission and just at the right height for the cutter to be used. Brilliant!
Tony A well most petrolheads say that the E65 is the worst car BMW ever produced... I really can’t disagree. I had the chance to drive another BMW recently (318i F30) and I must say it’s not as shabby.
@@HS-PGX E65s are pretty good for the time they were made. The styling was controversial but that's about it. The design looks alot better as its aged.
He was suave, confident and his rapport with Q was the best as well. My favourite Bond 'followed by Dalton actually. To each their own preference as they say. Thanks for the clip.

This is interesting... When a good guy wants to open an electronic locking device he shoots the device... and when he wants to block the locking device he... shoots the device! Works just fine both ways!
@@Firemarioflower It would not be a technical challenge, tanks with tires use such systems, also the Humvee and agricultural tractors (to change tire pressure fast)for street/field use. Rally cars also use a tire inflating system inside the axle. For a street car it's probably too expensive

I remember laughing so hard with my brother when this car was revealed. You usually think of some cool sports car or supercar that Bond would drive but instead you see a crummy BMW sedan. Such a hilarious moment.
This is the only BMW I'd ever buy. Its just a very pretty car that still looks good today. I'd engine+gearbox swap it though, something simple and reliable (volvo 2.3L redblock maybe).
The day they gave James, Mr stiered not shaken, a beamer and I was the only one in a 200km radius cracking up laughing and litteraly falling of the sofa. God for saken, I was on my own.... #MODInc
Brosnan was charismatic, handsome, suave & had the X factor to play Bond. A true British agent. Craig is too crude, lacks charisma & feels vulnerable. People say he brings “dark” shade to character, while that might be true but in exchange he looses many things which Brosnan bought to the table. Brosnan is the best!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
