I miss my Malamute I lost. I will miss him for the rest of my life. He was like a giant bear with a mane like a lion. He was 70 kg. You can never get another,as they are irreplaceable. And the bond with them is like no other dog. Once you have experienced that love, you will never forget it.

I had a German shepherd cross Malamute, got him a as rescue. He'd been abandoned chained to under a house and left to die. Lucky we go to him in time, because another couple of days his major organs would have begun to shutdown from starving.
Once he was fatten back up he became my first beloved working Dog. And took to it with basically no training at all. I barely ever had to given him a command, as he was already doing it before it could leave mt lips. When he went off everyone in area knew about it, he had such powerful commanding bark. Got a good 13 years of work from him. He was still going strong, but his heart was not. Heart failure had set in, so we had to retire him. But got to living in side with us for his remaining 2 years. Unfortunately the pain from his condition got too great and so we put him to sleep.
I miss him, best damn Dog I've ever had. R.I.P Fuhrer I miss you buddy.
I know that these are just words coming out of my mouth and I always say if I ever run across ANY ANIMAL being abused in any way I seriously believe that I wouldn't be able to control myself from killing that asshole or assholes. If your not going to take care of the animal, we'll it's a simple answer DON'T GET A FUCKING PET THEN.

I have a husky who's part Malamute and he's the sweetest boy. When he's hungry he'll go up to me (since I'm the one who feeds him) and just stand there with that dopey smile on his face.
He's so big and fluffy he's like a giant teddy bear and I love him.

Yes all the Spitz breeds are stunning. I had a Malamute and a Samoyed. I now have a little German Spitz and have found them to be such a beautiful dog and so smart.

I have two mals, and a mal-husky hybrid. The one thing that wasn't mentioned is stubbornness - you can't get a mal to do something they don't want to, you can only try to convince/bribe them into it.

Huskies are known as dramatic, talkative, noisy dogs. Are malamutes the same?
@@lawrencedoliveiro9104 They can be, but usually they're just independent-minded and don't react well to being asked/told what to do. They won't get dramatic so much as just grumble at you like a sullen teen-ager ("You can't tell me what to do!"). Unlike huskies, who tend to bark/shriek, Mals seem to prefer howling (like the classic wolf howling at the moon image) and if one starts vocalizing the others will soon join in.
My grandma's old malamute was a sweetheart, big, fluffy, and strong.
I remember when I was a child, the dog took off in the winter. I was holding the leash, needless to say, dragged along the path!

Enjoyed seeing info on Malamutes!! You always see info about huskies any time. Not so w/)Malamuts You can easily see why they are so large & strong. When they were needed as a draft animal they were a perfect fit. Never having either, I am 'guessing' that the Malamut was the best for hauling, while being a safer dog than huskies. Also, they appear to be a good animal to provide warmth when needed in severe weather. Remember, I stated I am going on what I've read. Too bad you cannot get same animal minus the coat for use in warm areas. I have seen a team of huskies & every other type of dog hitched together to a person's wheel chair. All the dogs even the smaller ones were keeping their "tugs" tight pulling down the paved shoulder of an interstate. Saw them multiple times. Ingenious use of "mutt" type dogs when vehicles could not be afforded!!

My old man’s ex had a wolfdog malamute mix, she was a beast of a dog and the most anxious cowardly thing I’d ever met, soft as hell and super lovable tho and so so pretty
Love my boy. 145 lbs and massive
They are not always good with children. We got one from a breeder and raised her around children but when I had a baby. She showed signs of aggression which was odd but just saying not all of them are super friendly with babies or lil kids. I still love this breed!! ❤
