You are truly gifted, I mean that sincerely. Trying to describe tonality differences to a viewer is difficult enough that they might understand it but they way you articulate the details of each speaker making distinctions that most people would never perceive can only be described as a gift. I's like to see a review on the Audio Note AN-J or K speakers. I heard a setup with AN-E's in Arizona on vacation and to say I was a bit shocked is pretty honest. They sound utterly amazing.
An interesting conclusion. I home auditioned a pair of Silver 100 7g’s three months ago, and I just couldn’t settle with them and I returned them. There was something about the sound stage presentation I couldn’t get on with, perhaps a little unnatural. I swapped the links out for a set of QED factory made links and there was a noticeable uplift in clarity, however I still couldn’t find the sweet spot. For the record I tried them with Audiolab 6000a and Hegel. I also tried the AE500’s and although sounding less sparkly initially and perhaps a little darker I found them easier to setup and live with, and they have remained for the longer term. To my ears and in my setup, the Acoustic Energy 500’s looked and sounded like a higher quality item than the Silver 100’s. Keep up the good work Tarun.
Still surprised that the Opticon MK2 haven’t received much attention/coverage from reviewers since their release a few years ago. Kudos on you for covering them in this review. My journey into hifi started with the Oberon 1 and while I have since moved on to experience many other brands, I still have a soft spot for DALI speakers so I’m glad to see the torch carried for their arguable sweet spot of the range.
The equipment on hand, the size of the room and the particular listening preferences of the buyer are definitive factors. The lack of audio showrooms away from major cities now make thoughtful, comprehensive reviews of greatly enhanced value. Thank you. No knock on those speakers but with a bit of patience great discounts can be had on many speakers (and electronics) whose MSRP is far beyond these £1,000 Speakers. For instance over time on a modest budget I've managed to put together a system of new components that 'punches above its weight'; MSRP US $5500. for just over $3k. This brings to mind the old chestnut; there are three main factors in all decisions. You can have or control only two of them: Time - Quality - Cost.
hi Geoffery hope you well, yes that's true what you said some will be good in small rooms, what amps or valves are used at the end of the day you have physics to bring into the equation so no matter what you get it will not be perfect whats is your set up
@@hamzatatta952 I have a number of systems. The system to which I referred above consists of a Yamaha PF-1000 Turntable, iFi Zen Stream, S.M.S.L. DO300EX DAC, Keces e40 Integrated Amplifier, Neat Acoustics SX3 Bookshelves on Custom Design FS104 stands and a Totem Acoustics Kin Sub8 subwoofer. All were bought new at a substantial discount, except for the Zen Stream and Kin Sub8, which were bought from the original owners in mint condition. I certainly plan on upgrades to the Stream, DAC and Amp. Never parting with the Turntable, near mint condition, original owner. Medium sized room, no acoustic treatments but a good mix of hard/soft surfaces. Moderate listening levels.
Thanks Tarun for this very nice and informative review. I have the AE500s combined with the wonderful Audiolab 6000A and I must say that although being partially deaf, the clarity in the treble and mid range of these speakers helps me hear music and the spoken voice ever so well. These audio treasures are truly something.
Very thorough and well written review as always. Lots of comments here about the supposed constant brightness of metal domed tweeters. I used to think this too but it is not true, the Triangle Titus has metal domed tweeter with a sort of horn wave guide and does not sound bright, airy and detailed yes, but not harsh with my amp. I tried the AE 500s in my system and while I would agree that nothing stood about the sound I would also say that they were pretty unremarkable and unexciting. Mind you I have tried 4 other big £1k price point (not from these brands here) and none came close to the Titus.
Another well described review. You should review their floorstanding versions because there aren't many reviews around, especially the Opticon 6 MK2. Monitor Audio have been reviewed to death in comparison. You'll get plenty of viewers if thete aren't many reviews elsewhere.
I appreciated your detailed comparison of the 3 speakers. I have a pair of the 6G MA Silver 300s and my friend got a pair of the 6G Sliver 300s on my recommendation. My impressions are that MA's Silver series of speakers are a great value for people that expect to upgrade their amplification because the speakers seem highly revealing of the qualities of their upstream amplification. My friend's upgrade from Naim amplification to a Modwright preamp and Pass Class-A power amp brought the sound quality from his Silver 500 speakers to another level. As you mentioned, the downside of this is that the speakers are also less forgiving of amplifiers that lack warmth. Also, another vote for doing a review on Monitor Audio's Gold and Platinum series speakers. As resolving as the Silver series of MA speakers may seem to be, I've heard the MA Gold 200 speakers and they are one step up in terms of overall clarity and resolution.
Great review Tarun, thank you. And yes, replacing the links supplied with the monitor audios, and replacing them with decent jumper links, makes an actually noticeable difference !
Thanks again for a great review. The new Quad Revela 2 would a good speaker choice for your attention, as will be a speaker soon to be launched, the PS Audio FR5.
Thanks for the review Tarun. They’re always enjoyable. I’d be interested to see a review of some ribbon and electrostatic speakers, with class A and valve amplification 🎶🎵😎
Tarun thanks for another great video. Appreciate you comparing speakers in a similar price range. To answer your question, My top two suggestions for speaker reviews are speakers from Arendal in Norway and Ascend Acoustics in the US. Both make bookshelf speakers as well as towers. Both are direct to consumer manufacturers. Hope to see you reviewing their speakers soon. Rock on!
Nice review Tarun, thanks. I've had a pair of Silver 100 7G for 18 months and I'm very happy with them, but I'll change the binding post connectors to see if it helps. I'd like to see you review the new Leak Sandwich speakers, they're getting pretty positive reviews.
@abritishaudiophile7314 hi Tarun, I just got a set of new Audioquest connectors and installed them. Listening to Melody Gardots 'Preacherman' I can hear the midrange is boosted a fair bit so well worth the investment. Best regards, Andy.
Answering your question of the day: I would love to learn about the Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G. I have the Bronze 50 and for the money am very impressed. The Silver 200 has a small footprint, real veneer cabinet, the tweeter I love and at a good price. Nobody is covering them and I wish they would.
When I was down in South Africa late last year visiting my parents, I was able to (significantly) upgrade my Dad's hifi by finding a pair of open-box MA 100 7G, in the piano black like your review sample, for the equivalent of about £450~£500! And the dealer threw in 8m of "pre-loved" Van Den Hul speaker cable worth about £26 per meter! I also bought a Bluesound Node at the same time so that my folks actually had a user-friendly way to get digital into his Marantz amp.
I appreciate the reviews...great insight and information! One piece of information to consider incorporating when doing reviews like these is to add how the speakers perform near a wall. In my smaller listening area I'm only able to place speakers 8-10" away from the rear wall, so how that placement affects performance is a significant issue for me to consider
Thank you. With most speakers, close to wall placement will increase bass extension at the expense of fidelity and introduce time smearing in the mids. It will also adversely affect stereo imaging and soundstage. The exception are speakers that have been specifically designed for close to wall placement 😊
ATC SCM19, ATC SCM11 & Dynaudio Emit20 All these speakers have their own following, they deliver their own particular musical sound and especially Dynaudio Emit 20 are a classy bargain for their price. Also all these listed speakers can play with high end audio without frustration of any lack of sound quality, so maybe they can be fixtures in an evolving system...
Tarun, I absolutely love your reviews friend. You are always well spoken, clear and to the point I’ve made a couple purchases based off of your reviews. Your review of the MA Silver 50 7g had me somewhat curious. I had never owned a pair from the brand. I then decided to roll the dice recently on a new pair of the 50th Anniversary Edition Silver 100 in the Heritage Green found here in Japan. You nailed it with your description on these. Bass is certainly the star of the show and the transition from the bass to the midrange is quite impressive in this price range. The metal dome tweeters don’t bother me at all like a few have mentioned. Perhaps equipment pairing and/or ear sensitivity plays the larger roles here. Especially noticeable with this is their ability to keep composure at low level listening. Other speakers in my home are the Kef LS50 Meta(love), Wharfedale EVO 4.2(going up for sake)and older pair of Usher Audio V-602 floor standers that are hard to let go. The MA Silver 100 7g have brought a little something different to the stable and in a very competitive class. A Soulnote A-1 integrated amp and a Belles Soloist Series(3 pre-amp and 5 amp)combo are what I swap in and out to drive them all with. I saw that you reviewed a Belles Aria offering some time back. I’d love to see if you could get your hands on a Soulnote Integrated at some point so that more folks can know what they are about. They are built in Japan and are exquisite music making pieces. Similar to the Belles offerings in some ways. They’ve made a big splash in the European market recently. www.kcsr.co.jp/eu_soulnote.html Anyhow, thanks for what you do with your channel. Cheers
This was a great review. I have a Marantz PM6007 and looking for speakers. And for now, I've settled on Monitor Audio Silver 100 7g so it was very interesting for me to hear an unbiased review and you just confirmed my choice - thank you for that Although this Marantz is an entry-level amp, a lot of people recommend these speakers for it as well as several others (such as B&W 606/607, Wharfedale Diamond 12.2, Q Acoustics 3030i, Kef LS50 Meta) but these Silver 100 7g just caught my eye.
Yet another great review. Without a doubt my favorite audio channel. I would love to see you review the Wharfedale Super Denton speakers. I have a pair of the Denton 85’s and really like them, but I am intrigued by a 3 way bookshelf. I tried the Lintons, and liked them, but they overwhelmed my smallish listening room. Thanks for putting the time in your reviews.
Interesting comparison! I like the format - really value the amp-matching thoughts. I would love to see a group test of speakers with a point-source design approach, like the KEF R3 Meta vs Fyne Audio F500SP (as I know you like standmounts; I would prefer the floorstanding siblings to these myself).
It sounds like I could live happily ever after with any of these. But when it comes to small speakers I'm quite happy with my little Wharfedale Diamond 12.0 which I got on sale for only $250. It's amazing the performance at affordable prices that are available now, and I think this is the golden age of hifi.
Great review. It does seem like quality is trailing down stream these days. I like the eight inch two way, reminds me of the old days when eight inch two way speakers were the norm. I also noticed the clever way AE rounds their cabinet so only to large pieces of veneer are needed, It eliminates sharp edges that can separate. Only two pieces of veneer needed instead of six. I borrowed this style from AE when making a couple kit DIY speakers during Covid. What's the saying? "To steal from one is called plagiarism, but to steal from many is called research"
Hi tarun , another great informative video, I agree with your findings, the silver 100 7g looks a great speaker in audio in that price point. Regards mark
An excellent visual overview, there should be more of them on the Internet. I am personally interested in the AE500 based on the size of the room, although their limitations in genres make me think about the HECO in vita 3, a new model about which there are few reviews.
I bet the Q-acoustics 5020 would not have to be ashamed in this line up. I would like to see you review some DIY speakers from the likes of CSS Audio and GR-research to see where you what rank them.
Found the Monitor Audio a bit too lean for me. Checked out Q Acoustics 5020 but then wanted more midrange and clarity. Changed up to the AE500s and wow! Made my decision to go for that in the next 15 mins. Absolutely lovely!
Your videos are among the best in TH-cam, You are an excellent communicator!! I suggest to have a video explaining more about matching amps. I am currently (kind of) lost trying to find an amp for my Harbeth P3ESR with out too much help from reviews.
Thank you for the review, and in particular the speakers you reviewed. Regarding older hifi, I just bought an audiolab M Dac+ to add to my 6000a and CDT. I thought it was a big improvement all round and even better when I used it as a pre. On the basis of that I've ordered a 8300xp power amp😁
Thanks for a great triple review, Tarun! For the question of the day, a group test of affordable subwoofers (perhaps $1000 or $1500 and below) would be enlightening. I'd also love to hear your take on the PS Audio aspen FR5 when it's released.
Thank you, Tarun! Very interesting choices for a comparison, great! One wouldn't assume at the beginning that the MAs would take the highest award in this company, at least. For me, an idea for the next affordable speakers would be the new QA 3030c's. It would be interesting to see how they would fare in this company.
great review! There should be more reviews for the bottom of the pyramid - the low end which is what most people can afford. It's nice to look at 5, 6 figure systems but not that practical....
I've always fancied the look of Monitor Audio speakers, so its good to know they sound good as well. I am interested in you reviewing the Wharfedale Heritage range of Denton and Linton speakers. One day if I ever have the space I dream about having these big boxes in my system.
Hello Tarun! Thank you for this excellent review I would have loved to see you include the Focal Chora 806 stand mount or the Chora 826 floor standing in this review as they are exactly in this price range! But if you can I would love to see you review the “ more affordable Focal’s “! Love your reviews! Excellent work!
Nice to get some affirmation here. I recently had a chance to listen to Monitor Audio Silver 300's and 500's and I was taken with the Monitor sound. These are the speakers I am aiming for next, though the 100's seem great also. Nice reviews, as usual.
Thanks for a very good review -- I have the MA Silver 100s, so happy to see you recommend them. I'd like to see you review the new Rubikore 2 bookshelf from Dali, thank you! Very curious about that one.
Hi Tarun. I found that group test really interesting. Nice job. As for your question… I’m really interested in electrostatic and open baffle speakers - like Spatial Audio - with valve amplification and I’d love to watch a review of something along those lines 🎵👊🏻
The group test was great. When I heard the sound of silver 100, I was surprised and did not feel any shortage. Would love to review the Monitor Audioo Bronze 500. Thank You
I'm a big fan of monitor audio. I've owned many, from older b2 bronze to GS10 gold signatures. These are the two I've kept and I enjoy. They need a stand and a good AB amp.
@whatwewantAItodo yeah , the new mbd tweeters are nice, and the finish on the 100s is lovely . Perect set up for a smaller room , is that what you own? If so, can't go wrong at all . The new studio 89b are my dream, but I recently can't work due to a liver illness, so buying they isn't an opinion. I buy secondhand mostly or with the q acoustics damaged stock a mirror crack a the base underneath, but I got they are £300 the 3050i when they were selling for £475 plus in the UK. Would loves the 89 or platinum or even a DAC worth more than £30 lol , but health first speakers later :)
I enjoyed that comparison, great stuff Tarun! Excellent work a usual. As far as speakers I’d like to see you review, they would be some of the stunning Living Voice speakers. I’d really love to hear your opinion because I’m a fan of their design being an owner of a pair of ProAc Response 3’s with a similar configuration.
Just looking at the Monitor Audio Silver 100 Speakers makes me break out in a cold sweat. That metal tweeter pierced my ears…It was like Russian Roulette as to which recording would begin The Utter Torture! This was my first audio mistake! Thankfully, I sold them for my purchase price! The experience made me go way over my financial comfort zone and to drive 200miles to get a killer cash deal on a pair of DynAudio Contour 20s…my efforts have been rewarded with many blissful sessions with those incredible silk dome tweeters!!! 👉🏼😃❤
Fwiw metal domes can be superior if done right (sb26adc, jbl studio 200 series come to mind) The MA silver and bronze do suck though from what I've experienced.
Thanks Tarun. Interesting, entertaining and informative as always. I wonder why in the world would the Monitors come with two sets of binding posts and cheesy jumpers. Who actually bi-amps speakers at this price point. I'd like to see you review some of the Decware speakers. Designed to work with low-power amps like your Willsenton. But seriously, I'm always interested in reviews of high efficiency, easy to drive speakers. I realize the laws of physics mean such can't go really low, but most people use a sub anyway.
Fabulous review Tarun, thank you. I have heard MA speakers quite a few times over the last 40 years. Most impressive was a pair of standmounts like the 100's which were £1200ish (2006?) at the time, at my brother's house. With their custom stands and his Exposure 2010S - very impressive indeed! I tested some small ones about 20 years ago but chose Epos, it was very close. Maybe a bit pricey, but I would love to hear your take on the Kudos Cardea Super 10? 🌞
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Hi Tarun, Thank you. Something you said on speaker placement and its effects, too close to a wall, finally hit home. My bookshelfs are actually in a bookcase. Luckily they are designed to work 'close to a back wall'. I took your advice on filling up the space around them (with cushions hidden by album artwork :-) and it worked beautifully. I do love the bass my Neats push out, but it does get a much 'too much' sometimes. I had tried the 'pair of socks in the rear ports' therapy before, but could not live with it. This time I listened closely for improvements in midrange clarity, locking the musicians into the soundstage etc and even micro detail in the top end, as you predicted. The bass too has better definition of course, and it all finally really came together. Thank you again for sharing your deep knowledge and your great love of music, which is why we are all here of course. I look forward to more of the good stuff, will continue to recommend your channel, and wish you and your loved ones all the very best. Many thanks again, Steve
I'd be really interested in seeing you review the Dali Rubikore 2. It's coming out soon and it might be like a "Menuet SE with bass." Alternatively, a Rubicon 2 review would be helpful since the price on those might come down when the Rubikore is released.
Although I agree with you with reference to the quality of Tarun's reviews, I have to defend his correct use of orientate as a verb (past participle included). It's an alternative to orient, younger perhaps in usage, but widely used nevertheless.. A search in any dictionary will show this. Not my wish to criticise your comment in any way, just to state Tarun's correct usage!
Thanks Tarun, very interesting. Heard lots of sub thousand speakers (but not the Dali's) and my favourites are the Dynaudio Emit 20, they have tremendous weight and a very refined and musical tweeter for the price point, they do need at least 75 watts of quality power though. Wharfedale super Denton please.
This was a useful video for a potential upgrade. I tried your recommendation of the AE-100s and the Cambridge 35. It sounded nice. But there was a problem with uneven frequency response. Some parts of a track sounded good and other parts didn't, which was strange to hear. Also it was underpowered with the output from my DAC. I ended up with the Rotel A11 Tribute with PSB Alpha P5s. My system has to do triple duty as digital piano monitors, general purpose, and hifi. The Alphas were balanced, pleasing and neutral. That was at first. But with time the reticent sound which lacks realism and liveliness has become tiresome. The B&W ASW608 subwoofer was just enough to fill out the lower end under the Alphas. Past 50Hz the sub is very coloured. But it was a good buy in this combination.
Hi Tarun, as usual this was an excellent review. I would love to see you review the Audiovector R1 Arrete with grounding cables. Reason being is simply because there are little to no decent reviews of these lovely looking speakers and it would be great to see your thoughts.
Great review, as always. Would love to see some reviews of the higher tier Dali speakers. The floor stander models dont get much attention on this channel, although the most popular models in general?
Enjoyable and interesting review and comparison. I would like to see your review on the Neat Alphas (following your review on the Iotas) Can such a small profile be classed as floor standing speaker? Great channel and keep the reviews coming 👍
Excellent balanced review as always Tarun. I have a pair of MA Silver 100 6G paired with my Exposure 2510 and I think they pair excellently. Since you are taking requests 😊I would be interested in your take on the Wharfedale Super Denton which comes in around £1k. I’m intrigued by whether a similarly priced , similarly sized 3-way speaker might provide any sonic benefits over the more common 2-way. Please keep up the great work.
These reviews are more meaningful than the high priced stuff. To your point, spending $1500US on bookshelves get sound quality that just wasn't possible 20 years ago. My old Paradigm 3se did sound good at the time, but compared to this stuff, it's not even in the same conversation. Thanks for your thoughtful review and comparison!!
Had the Paradigm 7se and while better than its siblings from more bass and impact, the same holds true. At the time, Paradigm produced leading speakers at their price points, todays offerings albeit more expensive, are smaller and produce a big stage with lots of detail, resolution , etc. The 7se could make the cabinets shake a little but everything else is improved. Still, the Paradigms 3,5,7se, etc would still play very well. In today's money, adjusted for inflation and more expensive shipping costs would probably be roughly $1300 US, if not more. They were larger and heavier back in the day. Having Dali Opticon and Focal 807W, I think these more modern speakers are better in certain respects. The Paradigm managed more bass but the Focals bass is faster and more textured with more extended highs and upper mids. The tiny Opticon is better than similar sized Paradigms I had such as the SE-1 in every respect as well even thought he SE-1 was a nice small speaker. Can't say how the new Paradigms sound but expect they improved over the years in both design and tweaking the desired presentation. Really like the Opticon 1s, and work better for me than the Menuet SE I also had. More versatile without giving up too much of what the Menuets did well. But the Menuet was refined and hard to beat nearfield, say within 1.5 meters away, give or take. Further out I feel the Opticon 1 would be preferred by most and its a notable difference. MA Silver 100 6th while I liked it alot, found it too difficult to get a volume right to hear the wide swings in dynamic range comfortably at lower SPLs, constantly turning the volume up of down to achieve balance. It also muddled the upper mids and highs a bit but perhaps proper biwiring could have improved this. Also had the Martin Logan 15i which gave alot of the desired aspects of the Silver 100 without the mentioned issue but stil muddled up the upper mids a bit, both excellent for movies but less so for music IMO. Rock might be fine but classical not so much. The Dalis are a good compromise for well articulated playback of both movie soundtracks and music. Never in your face and natural sounding for the most part. Don't know how the old Opticons differ from the newer models but suspect the newer ones achieve a bit better resolution and stage but speculating on what I have read others seem to hear. Never tried AE speakers but seemed to think from others' opinions they could be more oriented toward music rather than an all rounder.
Enjoyed the review! I very nearly bought the Monitor Audio Silver 100s but ended up going for the Focal Chora 806s at half the price. Happy with my decision but would love for you to review the Focal's, Tarun.
Hi Tarun and thanks for the review. I was surprised that the wharfedale super Denton wasn’t included. This speaker would be my selfish choice for a review as it caught my ear at the Bristol show and have been waiting for a trusted review since - hope you can help out.
Would love you to review the arendal 1723 line monitors or bookshelves. They get great reviews, have exemplary build quality and are direct to consumer so have great value as well. Eager to hear what you think! I owned the silver 300 7g before upgrading to the 1723s towers and think they are clearly a step up!
Great reviews and very informative as well as helpful advice. I’m trying to choose right speakers for NAD C 3050 integrated amplifier, I would really appreciate your advice. There are three speakers that I’m considering, I’ll be having my setup in small living room with busy furnishing and speakers will be close to a wall. I won’t be able to test sound my choices unfortunately, therefore your advice would help enormously. Also need to mention that I will be listening fairly close range (2.5m) from sofa. Also I won’t be able always to put volume very high (neighbours) and therefore sound needs to have clarity and tonality in lower volumes. Importance is also in soundstage, for using them with movies from time to time. I have decided on NAD C 3050 because of one system with BlueOS streaming and because it also has DiracLive. So to my speaker choice: PMC Prodigy 1 (most likely as it come in a good deal), second choice is Dali Menuet SE (size and your good review), and third option ELAC Uni-Fi2 UB52 (great budget option, good reviews). Lastly I must say that I would like to avoid over analytical sound, I prefer warmer harmony with room filling sound that can be listened for longer period of time with transparency even in lower volumes. Your feedback on the choice would help a lot. Will you be doing review of PMC Prodigy 1?
@@cobviktor thank you. I haven’t heard the Prodigy 1s but really like the Prodigy 5s. The Dali Menuet SEs are the most resolving but may be a little small for your space. You may want to look at the new Rubikore 2s 😊
I have the Monitor Audio Bronze 50's hooked up to my Cambridge cxa 61 and I love them, especially given that I picked them up new for £249. I'd like to know what the Audio Physic Step 35 sound like on the Exposure, and perhaps the LUMINA II AMATOR. I'm told these perform particularly well in confined spaces.
Its amazing how Tarun maintains his reviews unbiased.
Thank you. That is appreciated 😊👍
Thank you my friend. It is great to receive feedback like that 😊👍
Watch this space for an Audio Note review 😉
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I suspect synergy and personal taste may account for the differences 😊
Anothe great one Tarun! New Dali Rubicore 2 look interesting😉
Thank you 😊
Rubikores are double the price of Opticons.
Just purchased a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 100 7G, love them. You notice that base response immediately.
@@HM55-77 cool 😎
Still surprised that the Opticon MK2 haven’t received much attention/coverage from reviewers since their release a few years ago. Kudos on you for covering them in this review. My journey into hifi started with the Oberon 1 and while I have since moved on to experience many other brands, I still have a soft spot for DALI speakers so I’m glad to see the torch carried for their arguable sweet spot of the range.
I own opticon 2 mk 2,got 40% off so i grab it,amazing sound quality
Thank you 👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 not a problem,aww i forgot to subscribe,ok done✌️🔥🔥🔥🔥
hello I'm an Opticon2 MKII user! Which amp are you using the Opticon2?
Thank you for sharing Geoffrey 😊
hi Geoffery hope you well, yes that's true what you said some will be good in small rooms, what amps or valves are used at the end of the day you have physics to bring into the equation so no matter what you get it will not be perfect whats is your set up

Thanks Tarun for this very nice and informative review. Great one. Would love to see more reviews like this.
Thank you 👍
Nice too see a group test, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Very thorough and well written review as always.
Thank you for sharing your experiences 😊
Monitor Audio appears to be producing good value loudspeakers. Have a pair of Monitor’s from 2004 ish. Still going strong. Well done.

Thank you very much Tarun. I would really love one day a test of acoustic energy ae309 if it's possible. 😊

Interesting, I want to check the price, and they have the same price everywere in Europe.
Excellent and honest review. Thanks Tarun.

Another well described review. You should review their floorstanding versions because there aren't many reviews around, especially the Opticon 6 MK2. Monitor Audio have been reviewed to death in comparison. You'll get plenty of viewers if thete aren't many reviews elsewhere.

@@abritishaudiophile7314 I know that, have seen it ! 😉 Very nice speakers, I own them with a Luxman L31, sounds perfectly !
Thank you. Great to learn about your experiences 😊
Thank you ! Your reviews are professional yet enjoyable and easy to digest

Great review Tarun, thank you. And yes, replacing the links supplied with the monitor audios, and replacing them with decent jumper links, makes an actually noticeable difference !

Rock on!
Thx. I appreciate the suggestions 😊
Nice review Tarun, thanks.
I've had a pair of Silver 100 7G for 18 months and I'm very happy with them, but I'll change the binding post connectors to see if it helps.
I'd like to see you review the new Leak Sandwich speakers, they're getting pretty positive reviews.
Thank you. I would get rid of the supplied links. Please let me know how you get on 👍
@abritishaudiophile7314 hi Tarun, I just got a set of new Audioquest connectors and installed them.
Listening to Melody Gardots 'Preacherman' I can hear the midrange is boosted a fair bit so well worth the investment.
Best regards, Andy.
Excellent review as always!

Thank you for the suggestion 😊
Great review again Tarun! Would love to see £3k and below group test and specially a Sonus Faber.
Thank you 👍
When I was down in South Africa late last year visiting my parents, I was able to (significantly) upgrade my Dad's hifi by finding a pair of open-box MA 100 7G, in the piano black like your review sample, for the equivalent of about £450~£500! And the dealer threw in 8m of "pre-loved" Van Den Hul speaker cable worth about £26 per meter! I also bought a Bluesound Node at the same time so that my folks actually had a user-friendly way to get digital into his Marantz amp.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you for sharing 😊

This was a great review. I have a Marantz PM6007 and looking for speakers.
And for now, I've settled on Monitor Audio Silver 100 7g so it was very interesting for me to hear an unbiased review and you just confirmed my choice - thank you for that
Although this Marantz is an entry-level amp, a lot of people recommend these speakers for it as well as several others (such as B&W 606/607, Wharfedale Diamond 12.2, Q Acoustics 3030i, Kef LS50 Meta) but these Silver 100 7g just caught my eye.

That would be a nice video to do. Thank you for the suggestion 😊
It sounds like I could live happily ever after with any of these. But when it comes to small speakers I'm quite happy with my little Wharfedale Diamond 12.0 which I got on sale for only $250. It's amazing the performance at affordable prices that are available now, and I think this is the golden age of hifi.
That is great. No point in changing if you are happy 👍

Well yeah, there is no logical point, but there is nothing logical about this hobby, lol.
Thank you Jim. Great points 👍

@@Ricky-cl5bu Not my experience. Harshness in higs killed the experience for me. Hard pass.
Fwiw metal domes can be superior if done right (sb26adc, jbl studio 200 series come to mind) The MA silver and bronze do suck though from what I've experienced.

Thank you again for sharing your deep knowledge and your great love of music, which is why we are all here of course. ...no such word in the English language as "orientated" should be "oriented"... another solid review...thank you
Although I agree with you with reference to the quality of Tarun's reviews, I have to defend his correct use of orientate as a verb (past participle included).
Thank you. Watch this space 😉👍
Thank you for sharing your experiences 😊

Thank you. Much appreciated 👍

Thank you for the suggestions 😊
Great review. Thanks.
Thank you 👍
