It's amazing how everyone's sense of smell is so different! All I got from Velvet Vanilla was tuberose, which I can't tolerate and doesn't smell anything like bubble gum to me. I do want to try Gentle Fluidity Gold, I have heard so many great things about it.
I love MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold! It is one of my most fav elegant vanillas.🥰 I have to stop myself from wearing it daily. And I’m so happy to see V&C Boris Dore in your haul. I think it is such a classy feminine leather/suede fragrance and very underrated. I smelled Bois D’Amande too and I also find it very beautiful. I don’t understand the reference to BR540 (it seems like almost everything gets compared to BR540) because to me it is a smoother, toned down, daytime version of Hypnotic Poison.

Velvet Vanilla was my first niche perfume. I bought it because it had a discount in the store and because of the reviews, I was new to the world of perfumes. I tried but it was too much for me, too strong, too much tuberose. I ended up selling decants and when I was down to half a bottle, I sold it. 🤷🏽♀️
I still need to test out my Velvet Vanilla sample. Already wearing a fragrance today, but maybe I’ll remember to try it tomorrow. Love the way the full bottle looks.
Hey boo! 💜 Yes I definitely wasn’t expecting that w Velvet Vanilla.. I thought it was gonna be super sweet like cake 🎂 but it’s straight Bubble Gum Tuberose.. I have to be in mood to wear it cus it’s strong… the last one that was compared to BR540.. were they referring to the Extrait version cus that was has a almond note.. it’s wonderful 😍 but nowadays everything is compared to BR540.., BUT that new Sol De Janerio cream does have the DNA of BR♥️
Went with gentle fluidity gold for my first MFK scent. I'm so back & forth on 540 because of all the dupes. But I love how it smells layered!! Would love to see your opinion on the MFK oils! I think Oud satin mood or aqua universals would be a reallly pretty base.
From Van Cleff you need to try Rose Rouge. It is the most delicious raspberry rose you will ever smell. Not a heavy or vintage rose either. Very young, modern and addictive.
Velvet Vanilla reminded me a LOT of Angelique Noire by Guerlain which I love. Must be the vanilla with the angelica note in both. But like you it gave me a headache... so I'll stick with my Guerlain despite the hefty price tag.
