I played this in the Viola section under Leonard Slatkin at George Mason University years ago, I still tear up every time I hear this piece. So unbelievably beautiful.
I wonder how many people know Christian Lindberg is one of the most celebrated virtuoso trombonists ever? I listened to many of his recordings as a young trombone player, of course people have varying opinions on players but he's pretty much a legend in the trombone community
Oh my, I have to disagree, the precision is there, totally works at this speed when the precision and dynamics are there, which they are. Really loved this.

Lord knows what went into Mr Tchaikovsky head while composing this masterpiece. Hats off!
I hear this as The Flood.
Fuego para plasmar que el destino si es quebrantable
@@afifahhamilton8843 I can see that being the case now.
We played this for highschool state competition. 1974. No strings just percussion woodwinds upper and lower brass. Hardest piece I ever played.
My orchestra played this, my very first piece with the top orchestra of my high school. It stole my heart, I love this piece so much ❤
Tchaikovsky rocks!
Same, and one of our drummers dropped a stick during one of the dramatic pauses. It rattled around on stage and was awesome.
Tchaikovsky is SERIOUSLY trolling us with that triangle ending!
enjoyed watching this conductor work, and listening to this music.

tremendous, bravo

My youth orchestra is playing this for our spring concert this year and as a violinist I’m terrified 😭
let me tell you, practice that section after H, the runs are killer
Uhh.... which youth orchestra?
This conductor obviously loves Kousevitzky's stunning performance only here we have superb sound.
Wow amazing!
Lmao the conductor doubled the tempo speed, but it doesn't sound bad, too much adrenaline
Lol is that Christian Lindberg conducting?
It was perfect!
Fucking legend
Hysteria at its peak!
🤣
That conductor looks like Bob James, jazz composer
I think the tempo is too fast. Russian does not mean rushin'. I know it's meant to be allegro con fuoco, but that does not mean prestissimo.
Sound is seriously muffled.
It means “with fire” 🔥 as you probably know, so I think it’s a matter of interpretation, but this is probably amongst the faster tempos around…

You’re no fun 😂
@@ArcticPhilharmonic I have to agree. Our orchestra plays the same tempo as this one.
👏👏🎶🎵
Did tchai ever considered the cellos feelings 😢 although the music is quite good

1:00 PINK FLOYD REFERENCE?????
Better than Bernstein's and NY Phil- smoother, lighter, more lyric, less hard!❤
I beg your pardon, but it does not say prestissimo....
I cannot follow the conductor at all in the coda, he looks like he is just flailing
Good thing YOU didn’t have to then? 😉
Yes!
This movement doesn't have a "coda." But yeah ... he was flailing. The jacket is too distracting. Dress up, dude. Jesus.
The orchestras tempo just takes off at the end. Good grief!
way to fast!
