Meanwhile, Brits crumble under mass illegal migration, delirious housing prices, criminality and drugs, and a Stasi-like thought police in muslim-infested areas.
Less slam dunk, more “giz a job”. Sunak will be out of a job soon so this looks more like a fluffing exercise - ref: Nick Clegg’s journey to Facebook. Not one question on security! How is this code tested & released into mainstream life? How is the Data collected? Who will it be shared with? How will it be used? What tools, will use it? What Companies will be managing our Data & how will it be used?
The "human" test mentioned around the 34:00 mark seems like it should be something a human can't do but a robot could do perfectly. Like draw a perfect circle or draw a straight line. No human can do this perfectly by hand however a robot would have no trouble doing it. The test isn't prove you are human, the test is prove you are not human.
It's cool what he said about his kid. A kid who can't make friends at school who instead grows up with an A.I. friend who helps him develop into a far more intelligent and capable human being would really expose how dumb the idiots who didn't want to be his friend were in the end.
That's incredibly unhealthy. An AI will not a an authentic friend. Won't give you real feedback when you are being a way that is off-putting. Real humans will give you real human feedback. If a kid grows up with only AI as a friend, they won't develop the social skills to function with other real people
I expect the AI would pass all the qualifications for best supporting all the child's activities desirable for healthy development including social skills and developing friendships with other kids too.
I think we should approach AI like a mother would. "Don't hurt others, don't hurt your creators and don't hurt yourself." Mom wants you to learn and explore, but there are rules. Jeannine
Absolutely not. Protection without equal measure of progress is in fact a recipe for stagnation. Don't over promote sanction / regulation. It never ends well, as indeed the reverse rarely does. Regulation and progress / risk must be in balance.
That often works. Sometime it doesn't and we end up with a mass murderer or even a diktator. If we screw this up a mass murderer/diktator will be a cute little kitten in comparison.
@@paweld I always amazed by those people who want to convince me that the car I'm driving every day doesn't exist. And I guess those rockets are mass hallucination too?
I am personally very confused. As a business owner and an educator where does that leave us if AI is tutoring doing our jobs? I’m definitely going to do more research into this as being an educator and teacher. I love to learn I love research. I will say that, sounds intriguing, but it also leaves me a bit apprehensive.
Not really cause students will always need human teachers and for teachers it will be great to have a teaching friend . It’s great for both as students will get your main teacher but also every student will get private 1-1 tutor on top and for teachers you could get additional info so quick which you might not even thought about for example if you’re a science teacher and you let you mind wander some of the why questions might sound really stupid but it’s a very clever question and you would now get those answers immediately whdih you can then pass on to kids like why does everyone call big bang that creates universe but big bang wasn’t actually a bang there was no explosion it’s a misconception and you can get your full answer at the same time students who constantly ask us why question on everything can also get answer at home now when teacher isn’t around . So it’s good for both but students will always always need real human teacher specially at a younger age
Imagine Liz Truss having a convo with Elon Musk …. Musk will be like we don’t use Windows 7 anymore ….. Liz : oh okay , so how does AI differ from Windows 7
One of the biggest dangers to society from AI is exactly the AI "friend" Elon described where the AI will know you better than anyone else. Its quite scary that this is the bit he joked about. Your questions and interactions with the AI "friend" form a model of yourself, your thoughts and detailed interpretable history of them. If you asked a friend or person these questions, the interaction would be encoded their human brain - which is impermanent and not (easily) accessible to anyone else. The history of interaction with the AI however is permanent and can be interpreted by anyone who has access to it - forever, assuming the data isnt lost. It can be analysed for insights about you that you might not even have ever considered. Its another step towards the obliteration of intellectual privacy. To benefit from these tools you have to risk your privacy, and its not clear to anyone yet what the pyschological and societal effect of that will be. But without a doubt, if someone suspects they are being watched - they will behave differently. And, in the UK, 1 in 4 young people now have some mental health condition.

The tories are the opposite, they infight constantly, until the final run up to the general election when they all band together to keep Labour out. Then after the election, they go back to infighting. This has been the pattern for the past 2 decades.
Maybe this time Labour will win, but considering that the infighting has already started over Israel/Palestine, I wouldn't put money on it.
It's more like the PM envies the life of Elon Musk...
Even telling public that GM is the world leader in EV😢😢😢
Wow! Is this a Prime Minister or a seasoned well informed science jounalist?. This prime minister is incomparable to any . Very very impressive Rishi Sunak
Musk never stops impressing me in these interviews.
100%. Salient.
In what way?
When you find out he's no different
Excellent conversation. Hats off to Mr Sunak for being so open. Viva London and San Fran...
My respects to both gentlemen. Brilliant conversation, wonderful personalities.
Great deepfake
Ya I agree 100%
They couldn't give a monkeys about you mate, with the weather and power they have between them this is just an attempt to sooth the public further into thinking we are in good hands
UK is blessed to have such a humble, innovative and smart leader....
Very rarely I think someone could really educate key politicians on something and may actually be influential in policy making. Thanks Elon.
Musk will go down in history for many things for sure.
Like he educated American politicians to subsidise many of his companies that he'd otherwise work into the ground after buying or stealing a leadership role from the original founders.
This is great! I think more and more conversations like this should happen between tech drivers and policy makers
Sunak could do himself a lot of favours if he did more of these long form convos...he seems to be quite good at it
He has an alternative career as a podcaster
I think we'll see more of this now...
Sunak's job isn't hosting interviews with billionaires or even having a good reputation, as a PM his job is to make the country function properly

Unfortunately his priorities are wrong. He is intelligent enough too know better. He has lost all trust from his votes. Don’t be fooled
😂😂 shocking prime minister
I wish we had a person like this in Canada🇨🇦
Yeah he’s great cosplaying a techbro but a shockingly bad prime minister. U-turns on a daily basis and can’t control his own party and their sleazy behaviour (sexual assaults, rapes, drugs, corruption, to name a few just in the past week)
So many of Rishis bots in here
I don't think I have ever watched a Pol actually dig down like this. He was better than most interviewers I have seen. He understands the broader and granular challenges with AI and seemed to want to be proactive instead of reactive. Wish we had a guy like that running the show.
@@JimmyPepper Like it or not, the people voted for Brexit. I happened to be visiting the UK when it happened and it was striking to see the difference in mood between London and other parts of the country right after the vote. A vote like that inevitably leads to differences between the UK and the EU - the UK is charting its own course.
Musk is a businessman first before anything else, majority of his prerogative towards AI is superficial lies. He stands to gain, profit, and benefit by the stoppage of AI development. As Mr.Musk himself was one of the early investors into advanced algorithms and this is merely his continued effort to retain his yearnings for himself. Typical greedful businessman looking out for himself rather than the betterment of humanity. Don't believe what your told, do your own research and decision making or else you will be led to a belief of a greedful businessman rather than having made your own educated informed decision.
@@JimmyPepper being out of alignment with the EU is both good and bad. Depends on the topic. @BrutalInsights - I'm not a Musk fanboy, but he already is the richest man on the planet. Money isn't motivating him. There is no-one else to beat. He sold off all of his mansions, he never had a superyacht, I don't see him even buying sports teams. I don't see him "Stopping AI"- he already has a separate AI company from Tesla.
Great interview, and probably the best thing Sunak could have done. There is just no comparison between Sunak and Starmer.
Lol Starmer's background in the legal profession would probably make him too twitchy about AI replacing his profession.
I actually despise the UK government and I do have disdain for rishi but after watching the full length I reluctantly say that he's one of the first politicians I've seen that can have an intellectual long form conversation with real substance and engagement, hats off 😶 still hate him as a representative of a corrupt and obsolete form of governance
Thanks for all the work cutting the video, super helpful specially whenever elon is speaking ahah
An extremely valuable conversation about AI. PM Sunak is probably the only head of a state in the world that can actually a hold a coherent discussion on this topic. He's impressive.
This is probably the best interview of Elon I have seen and heard.

That was a fascinating conversation. I was very impressed with Britain's new prime minister Rishi sunak. He seems to be a hell of an intelligent guy. I enjoy the videos you post on your Channel. - I watch them daily. Thanks for posting this and best wishes.
Do some more research into Rishi Sunak and his and his parties policies. See if you are still impressed…
@@TubaTonesWhat does Rishi Sunak's intelligence and eloquence have to do with politics and party policies? You may not like his policies, but that has nothing to do with his intelligence .

Ignore all the commies in the chat 😂. Sure, Rishi is trying to be ambitious but he also comes off as clueless middle-management who just downed a redbull before the interview. He's not really a good standard-bearer for our country and we can do much better.

Rishi Sunak is possibly one of the most educated Prime Ministers the UK has ever had. I see him doing intelligent things in the world. And Elon as always is doing some interesting things in multi-faceted ways. 👍

I'm not a great fan of Rishi but compared to Trump who's vocabulary extends to "very, very, very bad", and Australian PMs who believe we should remain in the 19th centuary, Sunak speaks intelligently and doesn't deflect too much.
So saad, so saad, everybody agrees....

One of the best interviews I've seen! Have not heard a spoken word out the british primeminister before this and my first impression is awesome. Elon seems to actually be enjoying interviews like this one a heck of a lot more where the questions and return comments are highly relevant, engaging and have substance of their own. Elon is some man for one man. He did the Joe Rogan Podcast well past midnight local time, had a pizza, smoked a cigar, seen him yawn a couple of times, then tells Joe 'Sorry, gotta catch a flight to go talk with the Brittish PM' :)
It's rare to see Rishi in a room with someone even richer than himself! 😅

Hi Farzad, I am a great supporter of your work. You are one of my go to sources for info.
I live in London I am not a conservative voter. However, I have always been impressed by Rishi and I wish he was leading a different party.
I think he was able to interact with Elon and the crowd better than most journalists. He is also quite a nerdy guy (compliment). I heard a story about when he was the chancellor of the exchequer (Finance minister/Sec of state for Finance). The nerds came to him and said that they didn't have capacity and needed some extra time to produce some analytics for him and he said give it to me and I will do it over the weekend. They almost had a heart attack.
Good story thanks for sharing that

An excellent marketing opportunity well excecuted… for Sunak. He gets Musk soundbites, can show off his verbal dexterity, can imply Britain’s position in the forefront if tech, can sell the logic of gov oversight, speaks to the younger generation in the back of Musk clout… in the political world this is called a slam dunk 😂
Musk extolling the virtues of Banks’ anarcho-marxist Culture series, the destruction of jobs and obsoleting of money. Sunak nods and smiles as though it’s his viewpoint too. I thought he looked sycophantic and desperate.
More dank slum than slam dunk.
Its not that simple. He could have made a buffoon out of himself, theres huge PR risks involved. Imagine Liz Truss doing this or even Boris. He outdid himself really

Really brave and commendable of Rishi Sunak to engage in an open conversation like this. Biden is even afraid to utter Musk's name. It was impressive to see how he handled Musk's utopian projection on abundance of resources and not having to work and put out his own politically acceptable point of work providing purpose and discussing what might be the use of human potential after general AI takes over.

Rishi (and prime ministers in general) should do more of these. Not just question and dodgy answers, but rather a discussion forum. It will help with that connection between government and the populous. People crave long conversations, despite our attention span shortening. Joe Rogan popularity is testament to this. Great interview-thank you!
It's nice to see two guys who know a little more about AI than I probably do having a discussion about it...
I really appreciate you editing all of these videos. Ty
FANTASTIC talk! Chapeau to both of you! INDEED, TRUST and INTEGRITY are.cardinal under the new, historical development of the mankind!!!
Imagine having the British PM as the interviewee!
AI can be an authentic friend, in fact it could be your BEST friend. Think of it as simply information input and output@@04dram04
Simplicity and thier level of thinking is really impressive...❤

So it’s good for both but students will always always need real human teacher specially at a younger age

lol....oh, wait......you're serious!
We tend to forget Rishi is a multimillionaire businessman before he became PM. He knows his shit.
