Smash 64 was the first game you played as him in-game not in his Blue falcon, they pretty much made up most of his moveset, the Falcon punch&Falcon kick were original to smash
Irony is a weapon he was also a semi clone of samus in the first game, using her model, tilts and some air attacks were reskinned (same frame data and hit boxes but different animation), the throws, b moves, jab and smashes were original. In melee he was updated and only his uptilt remained as a call back to his clone status.
I wanna see what the excuse is this time, and it better be a good one. Switch is the most unique console I've ever seen. Switch is more powerful than 3DS and Wii U. The demand for F-Zero is only going to skyrocket until they do something about it. F-Zero, like all things, CAN be improved. Just look at Smash Ultimate, Shigeru. I see nothing but improvements. Enough with the excuses.
I would love seeing another F-Zero game with the same physics as F-Zero X where you can float into the air and steer where you want to land precisely, they changed that in GX and put more weight into the cars so you always landed quickly and couldn't flow around freely once you got into the air, GX is the most awesome in the series but X has the best gameplay.

Ironically enough it's Sega who developed what is often considered to be the best F-Zero to date, F-Zero GX, so maybe it's Sega that should do another F-Zero (and preferably with online play but apparently online is usually bad on Nintendo consoles and I doubt that Nintendo would be ok with a F-Zero not only made by Sega but running on PS4 or Xbox lol).
+ Parallax Craze GX was developed by Sega's Amusement Vision which are sadly no longer around, and unfortunately the game sold badly. I'd take a HD remaster of GX with added online play.
Kinda knew my video of AX was going to show up in the video. So sad that machine is no longer at that arcade. Also, there was another version of F-Zero AX that they made only in Japan called F-Zero AX: Big Ride. The machine looked like it was on a giant arm that swung back and forth to make you REALLY feel like you where taking the corners. Not sure if there's any videos of it here on TH-cam but I remember seeing videos of it.
There were only two ever released in Europe. One in the UK, in London's Theme Park (which despite having been to London so many bloody times, have never been to the theme park >_
this is a beautifully made history! F-Zero did have a spiritual successor on the SNES, it was called Battle Cars, and it came out in 1993. It was basically F-Zero with the addition of weapons, and aliens. It was also 13 year old Strangulator42's favorite game EVER :)
BS F-Zero Deluxe is an amazing feat. I love the community! F-Zero doesn't have enough games but this makes up for a lot of lost time, imo. 3 games in one!
_F-Zero GX_ is a game I wish I was better at. I had to buy a memory card with a 100% save file since I couldn't beat it. Despite the great graphics and amazing gameplay, there is some surprisingly detailed world building in the game with space pirates, bounty hunters, space cops, space wizards, space cabbies, and even super-heroes in the universe.
It is not that hard except for Story Mode, just learn to Momentum Throttle, Quick Turn, and Momentum Turbo Slide, those 3 basic techniques will let you beat the game easily
I have so much Nostalgia for F-zero 64, 5 or 6 of us would play this religiously most nights after work! 1st, 2nd & 3rd stay on, loser hands the pad over! GREAT DAYS!

I managed to find F-Zero GX the other day for a good price at a used bookstore (along with a copy of Jump Super Stars, because I guess I'm lucky or something). It must have been fate!
I've had F-Zero GX since it came out, and I personally find it to be one of the hardest games on the GameCube, but still a damn good one, so be prepared to put a lot of time into it to get good, and you will be well rewarded.

No fooling! That diamond cup, I never managed to beat the FIRST track. It was not only narrow for the majority of the track, but very, very long. It's such a good game but man, that diamond cup!

Dan, totally wonderful work. One of my favourite franchises and what a homage to it. I just wish a full F-Zero came out on the wiiU. The tracks on Mario kart 8 were awesome. Best CH since Golden Axe.
I'm kind of confused, why is one of the reason that there hasn't been a new game because "what else is there to do?". Why is that a valid excuse when other racers get countless sequels that barely add anything new..... Why is it such a stretch to make a new F-Zero when we're still getting new Mario Karts?
I agree on both sides. I don't just want another F-Zero. It needs to be something extra special. And like you said they never have problems working out what to add in Mario Kart games do they!
I agree. The lack of Nintendo-based racer options is really infuriating. And they thought the F-Zero DLC in Mario Kart was good enough. It won't cut it.

I also see that having Blue Falcon, F-Zero-based tracks, and the amiibo suit alone is very much a punch to the gut when you have Villager, Inkling, and link--those that have nothing to do with racing at all--in the game. I seriously get the feeling they don't treat F-Zero with respect because they can't "casualize" it or make it suddenly appeal to a larger demographic without significant backlash. Another reason they had Villager, Inkling and Link is because of Association with the Familiar. Most people buy and support things they know. Sadly, we're outnumbered by the mianstream gamer demographic. Shoot, we already had some people saying Falcon is a Smash Character.

Nintendo should definitely release a HD port compilation of F-Zero GX/AX with online multiplayer to gauge interest. If that goes well, do a full on modern remake of F-Zero X with a stylised comic book artstyle similar to Boarderlands, online multiplayer and most of the bells and whistles from the N64 DD expansion kit. Maybe get Sumo Digital (Sonic and All-Star Racing) or Shin'en Multimedia (Fast RMX) to assist with said hypothetical remake.
I can think of tons of things they could do with a GX remake or new game: - new tracks based on more intricate locations, more buildings, surface of a dyson sphere, space station inside a nebula, weaving through an f-zero car factory district, more underground, through theme parks, through "guest" tracks from Mario Kart, or themed based on other series, on an actual rollercoaster track (cross promote with a theme park) etc - tracks that move. not just branching tracks that change like sonic & all stars (although that too), but like tubes that strech into flatter sections, undulations that actually undulate more or less based on the speed you take them, also different triggers than just lap numbers, so maybe just time, or hitting specific trigger points or wall objects. - branching tracks that use transparency more. you could race on the inside or outside of a tube, and see the people on the other side. the inside is impossible to fall off of, but the outside gives you potentially a shorter racing line. - Mode based on checkpoints with multi track open levels, how you get to the checkpoint is up to you - Updated track and vehicle creation tools, let vehicle parts have actual functions rather than just three stats, allow fully painting vechile skins (i dont care if people want to race in a penis car, just let me customise mine) - Mario maker style track and vehicle sharing, also ghost leaderboard with download options (download worldwide or friends ghosts etc) - Easy and normal modes for scrubs like me, remove rubberbanding and actually simulate racers - New charachter based story events. maybe sub stories for charachters other than Cpt. Falcon - out of car explorable area as a menu. actually be the charachter, and go to garage to customize, the bar to look for online games, museum to see your unlocks, cinema to watch cinematics etc. - a proper hand holding tutorial. teach noobs like me everything from when to use the airbrakes, to how to do S-Curves - Bring back elimination last man standing mode if I thought of all this so easily, Nintendo & SEGA could easily make something 10x better than i've thought of!

DJ Slopes! Top notch production values on this one. I played F-Zero around 1993. I was a Sega kid, but was giving the rival a shot. F-Zero blew me away ! There weren't any racing games I played on Genesis with this sense of speed, control, and animation. It sold me on continuing to give Nintendo attention. I went on to explore every nook of Pilotwings, and even appreciate the Mode-7 map in Zelda A Link to the Past. Ironically, Nintendo succeeded at what Sega attempted - being the most technologically superior at the time of its release.
Some funfacts to add: The DD F-Zero had the Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64, with a rock version of the original song. The Triforce Arcade Board games used Dreamcast discs instead of the GC minidvd. And technically the entire AX version is on the retail GX version, this was found on 2013, an entire decade since it's launch. You could play F-Zero AX on the Gamecube, but you need a cheat device. And there's kinda of a "spiritual successor", Fast Racing League and it's sequels are inspired mostly on F-Zero. Fast Racing League was available on WiiWare, the sequel, Fast Racing Neo is on the WiiU, and Fast RMX on the Switch. If the inspiration isn't too obvious, since Fast Racing Neo, the race announcer is the same as F-Zero GX. But... It's like missing something, more "character" that F-Zero X and GX had. Also. THE F-ZERO GX STORY MORE IS HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER PLAYED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Still trying to completing on all modes to this day ;_;
I'll say this, F-Zero is legitimately the only racing game series I buy and play solely for myself. Anything else tends to just be killing time with friends or some Mario Kart with a group, and don't own any of those other than Mario Kart.
Man, the N64 Fzero is one of my favorites. Your right though, I never even noticed its simple graphics because I was always so into the actual racing and speed, i didnt have time to think about the graphics, i had to race darn it. And while (maybe unpopular opinion) I do like the Anime a lot, I kind of agree their game's were the same thing. Different tracks, updated are of characters (and like 4 anime exclusive people).. but nothing too crazy in uniqueness. Still, very good games! I would love for a GX/AX HD, I have been hoping for one, especially since I cannot find AX anywhere anymore :( Lets hope. This was a really interesting video! In an age where competitive gaming is more popular than it has ever been (at least in the mainstream, I know it has existed basically forever), a game like F-Zero, where skills are very important, the ability to race a bunch of people at the same time and a extremely fast and hard gameplay, it probably would do really well nowadays.
That was a really sweet feature - memory cards interchangeable between arcade and home 👍 That's what Nintendo has been more dynamic, innovative - they don't always succeed but they're less hesitant to take chances.
F-Zero is a series I've always wanted to like but have never been able to get in to, I never had it back in my SNES days and seemingly neither did any of my friends. Then when I finally did get round to playing it I had my mind and ears blown away by the WipEout series. I did get the one of GameCube but again I really couldn't get in to it - but then I think WipEout Fusion is a bit shit too.
I still want an fzero game with online play which the series has yet to do honestly I was always shocked they never did it on the Wii u whilst brining back the track editor that hardly anyone got to experience
Great vid, I played Fzero AX at sega world in tokyo in 2004, it was an 8 player simultaneous race with 8 sit in cabinets! And they had these weird card slots where you could improve your machine and bring it to other arcades etc (as you showed :)). One weird thing I noticed was the turbo from FZero GX was missing (maybe because I hadnt upgraded my car thinking about it?).. I won :) My wallet also fell out under the machine but someone got it for me ;)
I'd say the only three things you missed here were the F-Zero X Expansion Kit, the F-Zero anime (F-Zero Falcon Densetsu, also known in the us as F-Zero GP Legend) and certain features of F-Zero Climax that make it really stand out from GP Legend.
Good'ol F Zero, easily one of my favorite series in gaming. Just a shame we haven't seen a sequel in years. I mean get wanting to do something fresh and not just more of the same, but it's been so long now that I feel like even if they just HD remastered GX with online play it would almost feel like a new experience even for people who played the gamecube original to death. Hell F Zero has always been a series that usually shows off what each new system is capable of, and in my opinion that's all it needs to be, a once a generation release that shows off just how much each system has been improved, just with added racers, tracks and a new campy story mode. No more, no less! But Great work as always Daniel, you're doing Gaming God's work!
GX was easily the best, gotta agree with you. had a friend who managed to beat the story mode for me on all difficultys, then lost the memory card a while after he moved, couldent get past that boulder falling race on the easiest from that point onward =(
See, I dont think it NEEDS to improve any further. GX was and still is incredible. So why not just take that.... and not improve it but expand it. More back stories, more characters and vehicles, more customization, etc. Kinda like a series such as Forza or Gran Turismo. Just pump up the graphics, add more tracks and vehicles, and maybe throw in some online element. At least, thats what I want out of a new F-Zero.

I'm glad to actually say that I beat F-Zero GX even if it's on Normal mode. Glad that the new 3ds had the original one on the VC, so I can finally play all the console ones. I'm honestly surprised that Captain Falcon made it into Smash as one of the original 12. I'm glad that the whole Star Fox racing game rumor wasn't true. I couldn't imagine a war between F-Zero and Star Fox fans. A port or enhance port of GX on the Switch will hype me up as much as Smash Ultimate and Metroid Prime 4.

Ah F-Zero, truly great sci-fi futuristic racing game, I always play it on my SNES till Gameboy Advance release (I didn’t own N64 and GameCube) and played the arcade once when I was travel to Hongkong which was a blast! Nintendo please bring this IP to Switch, would love to see Captain falcon in Nintendo Switch action!
Really love the F-Zero series. I feel like this is a franchise that Nintendo needs to give more attention to. Oddly enough, a really great future racer that is a good time is the Wipeout Omega Collection for PS4. Hope Nintendo does an F-Zero along those lines one day!
Man, kids back then really got knocked around in video game commercials. Sega and Nintendo trashed family rooms and broke the bones of future child stars. Later on they just had someone yell at you. Nowadays our instruction manuals are 4 pages long and are called Epilepsy Warnings, and our video game commercials all have so/so hip hop. All of them. Loudly. Makes even the most brotherly scene in Modern Warfare feel like just another Saturday afternoon living Fast and Furious. The 90's, they were a bloody but glorious era 🤗
Great video, but I'm not in agreement that there isn't anything that could be done in a new game. Off the top of my head, a few things they could try: - An online mode where people can play together online on the Switch. - An improved story mode; where I felt like was the only thing about GX that lacked. A better story and missions. - Incorporating weapons, similar to Extreme G, make the game even more chaotic, make it optional if it isn't recieved well. - A multiplayer battle mode; could be similar to Mario Kart or more related to the Death Race on F-Zero X. - A track editor for the U.S. since we missed out on it the first time. - More customization options for the characters and ships. Do what Overwatch does and give them unique outfits. Those are just a few ideas, but surely there could be more done with it to enhance the experience. They definitely at least have the potential to. They have no reason not to at least try.
Many series have done "more of the same" countless times and still keep going strong... Besides, I see plenty of possibilities for a racing game like this. New tracks with new mechanics (gravity, jump tricks, kills, boosts, etc... maybe even a mode with weapons if done right), awesome new soundtrack that change the tone depending on the track segments, new racers and options for customizing the vehicles, a more detailed story with the characters, championchips and planets backgrounds, online modes, multiplayer modes, all-new story mode (maybe with branching paths) including some cameos, perhaps even more speed. I don't know if all those possibilities could work, but there's definitely potential here to be explored.
F-Zero GX is one of my all time favorites. Good luck finding an AX cabinet though. I'd love an HD port to switch, online play, all features intact and working, extra content. Maybe an F-Zero anthologies and include everything (lost SNES and 64DD expansions even) with online play. Any new game would seem sub par, especially with DLC and such considering how much content GX had in one purchase. Fingers crossed they go all out but I'd be happy to play all the games on the go and online/local wireless.
One thing that I would like to see with the next Fzero yes besides the ability to make your own cars and customize the cars is to release it with a track and order all the Mario maker kind of thing and then also give us online play
Shin'en should make the next f-zero. Their fast racing neo was good. Wasn't f-zero but pretty dam good enough to be one. I think they can do the series justice. This is my first comment on TH-cam ever and this video made me a follower. F-zero is my favorite series, it created great memories with my friends and was the first game I bought with my own money when I started working.

I used the Action Replay to get the stuff I couldn't unlock myself, including the AX stuff. :)

Dan, totally wonderful work. One of my favourite franchises and what a homage to it. I just wish a full F-Zero came out on the wiiU. The tracks on Mario kart 8 were awesome. Best CH since Golden Axe.

I'm kind of confused, why is one of the reason that there hasn't been a new game because "what else is there to do?". Why is that a valid excuse when other racers get countless sequels that barely add anything new..... Why is it such a stretch to make a new F-Zero when we're still getting new Mario Karts?
I agree on both sides. I don't just want another F-Zero. It needs to be something extra special. And like you said they never have problems working out what to add in Mario Kart games do they!
I agree. The lack of Nintendo-based racer options is really infuriating. And they thought the F-Zero DLC in Mario Kart was good enough. It won't cut it.

customracer209 I consider that insulting to F-Zero. Considering the fact that now there will be people in comment sections asking for certain F-Zero tracks to be in Mario kart. I mean now you'll have people claiming and thinking that F-Zero tracks originating from Mario Kart instead.
I also see that having Blue Falcon, F-Zero-based tracks, and the amiibo suit alone is very much a punch to the gut when you have Villager, Inkling, and link--those that have nothing to do with racing at all--in the game. I seriously get the feeling they don't treat F-Zero with respect because they can't "casualize" it or make it suddenly appeal to a larger demographic without significant backlash. Another reason they had Villager, Inkling and Link is because of Association with the Familiar. Most people buy and support things they know. Sadly, we're outnumbered by the mianstream gamer demographic.

Nintendo should definitely release a HD port compilation of F-Zero GX/AX with online multiplayer to gauge interest.
If that goes well, do a full on modern remake of F-Zero X with a stylised comic book artstyle similar to Boarderlands, online multiplayer and most of the bells and whistles from the N64 DD expansion kit. Maybe get Sumo Digital (Sonic and All-Star Racing) or Shin'en Multimedia (Fast RMX) to assist with said hypothetical remake.
That's the dream
I can think of tons of things they could do with a GX remake or new game:
- new tracks based on more intricate locations, more buildings, surface of a dyson sphere, space station inside a nebula, weaving through an f-zero car factory district, more underground, through theme parks, through "guest" tracks from Mario Kart, or themed based on other series, on an actual rollercoaster track (cross promote with a theme park) etc
- tracks that move. not just branching tracks that change like sonic & all stars (although that too), but like tubes that strech into flatter sections, undulations that actually undulate more or less based on the speed you take them, also different triggers than just lap numbers, so maybe just time, or hitting specific trigger points or wall objects.
- branching tracks that use transparency more. you could race on the inside or outside of a tube, and see the people on the other side. the inside is impossible to fall off of, but the outside gives you potentially a shorter racing line.
- Mode based on checkpoints with multi track open levels, how you get to the checkpoint is up to you
- Updated track and vehicle creation tools, let vehicle parts have actual functions rather than just three stats, allow fully painting vechile skins (i dont care if people want to race in a penis car, just let me customise mine)
- Mario maker style track and vehicle sharing, also ghost leaderboard with download options (download worldwide or friends ghosts etc)
- Easy and normal modes for scrubs like me, remove rubberbanding and actually simulate racers
- New charachter based story events. maybe sub stories for charachters other than Cpt. Falcon
- out of car explorable area as a menu. actually be the charachter, and go to garage to customize, the bar to look for online games, museum to see your unlocks, cinema to watch cinematics etc.
- a proper hand holding tutorial. teach noobs like me everything from when to use the airbrakes, to how to do S-Curves
- Bring back elimination last man standing mode
if I thought of all this so easily, Nintendo & SEGA could easily make something 10x better than i've thought of!

F-ZERO should come back on the Nintendo Switch! Imagine it as an OPEN MULTIPLAYER GAME of F-ZERO with an arcade mode.My favorite F-ZERO game is the SNES one.
This shows what can happen if Nintendo will pull their heads out of Mario’s ass and make different games.
DJ Slopes! Top notch production values on this one. I played F-Zero around 1993. I was a Sega kid, but was giving the rival a shot. F-Zero blew me away ! There weren't any racing games I played on Genesis with this sense of speed, control, and animation. It sold me on continuing to give Nintendo attention. I went on to explore every nook of Pilotwings, and even appreciate the Mode-7 map in Zelda A Link to the Past. Ironically, Nintendo succeeded at what Sega attempted - being the most technologically superior at the time of its release.
Some funfacts to add:
The DD F-Zero had the Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64, with a rock version of the original song.
The Triforce Arcade Board games used Dreamcast discs instead of the GC minidvd. And technically the entire AX version is on the retail GX version, this was found on 2013, an entire decade since it's launch. You could play F-Zero AX on the Gamecube, but you need a cheat device.
And there's kinda of a "spiritual successor", Fast Racing League and it's sequels are inspired mostly on F-Zero. Fast Racing League was available on WiiWare, the sequel, Fast Racing Neo is on the WiiU, and Fast RMX on the Switch. If the inspiration isn't too obvious, since Fast Racing Neo, the race announcer is the same as F-Zero GX. But... It's like missing something, more "character" that F-Zero X and GX had.

THE F-ZERO GX STORY MORE IS HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER PLAYED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

I'll say this, F-Zero is legitimately the only racing game series I buy and play solely for myself. Anything else tends to just be killing time with friends or some Mario Kart with a group, and don't own any of those other than Mario Kart.
Man, the N64 Fzero is one of my favorites. Your right though, I never even noticed its simple graphics because I was always so into the actual racing and speed, i didnt have time to think about the graphics, i had to race darn it. And while (maybe unpopular opinion) I do like the Anime a lot, I kind of agree their game's were the same thing. Different tracks, updated are of characters (and like 4 anime exclusive people).. but nothing too crazy in uniqueness. Still, very good games! I would love for a GX/AX HD, I have been hoping for one, especially since I cannot find AX anywhere anymore :( Lets hope. This was a really interesting video! In an age where competitive gaming is more popular than it has ever been (at least in the mainstream, I know it has existed basically forever), a game like F-Zero, where skills are very important, the ability to race a bunch of people at the same time and a extremely fast and hard gameplay, it probably would do really well nowadays.
F-Zero needs to come back. It’s time.

F-Zero is a series I've always wanted to like but have never been able to get in to, I never had it back in my SNES days and seemingly neither did any of my friends. Then when I finally did get round to playing it I had my mind and ears blown away by the WipEout series. I did get the one of GameCube but again I really couldn't get in to it - but then I think WipEout Fusion is a bit shit too.
i think f zero is one of theses games who are more enjoyable in 2d, cause of simplistic gameplay makes it more fun!

I still want an fzero game with online play which the series has yet to do honestly I was always shocked they never did it on the Wii u whilst brining back the track editor that hardly anyone got to experience
Great vid, I played Fzero AX at sega world in tokyo in 2004, it was an 8 player simultaneous race with 8 sit in cabinets! And they had these weird card slots where you could improve your machine and bring it to other arcades etc (as you showed :)). One weird thing I noticed was the turbo from FZero GX was missing (maybe because I hadnt upgraded my car thinking about it?).. I won :) My wallet also fell out under the machine but someone got it for me ;)
I'd say the only three things you missed here were the F-Zero X Expansion Kit, the F-Zero anime (F-Zero Falcon Densetsu, also known in the us as F-Zero GP Legend) and certain features of F-Zero Climax that make it really stand out from GP Legend.

Good'ol F Zero, easily one of my favorite series in gaming. Just a shame we haven't seen a sequel in years. I mean get wanting to do something fresh and not just more of the same, but it's been so long now that I feel like even if they just HD remastered GX with online play it would almost feel like a new experience even for people who played the gamecube original to death.
Hell F Zero has always been a series that usually shows off what each new system is capable of, and in my opinion that's all it needs to be, a once a generation release that shows off just how much each system has been improved, just with added racers, tracks and a new campy story mode. No more, no less!

GX was easily the best, gotta agree with you. had a friend who managed to beat the story mode for me on all difficultys, then lost the memory card a while after he moved, couldent get past that boulder falling race on the easiest from that point onward =(

See, I dont think it NEEDS to improve any further. GX was and still is incredible. So why not just take that.... and not improve it but expand it. More back stories, more characters and vehicles, more customization, etc. Kinda like a series such as Forza or Gran Turismo. Just pump up the graphics, add more tracks and vehicles, and maybe throw in some online element.
At least, thats what I want out of a new F-Zero.
I 100% agree. I think expansion is a far better idea than innovation especially when It comes to a racing game that hasn't had a sequel in 15 years.

Mode 7 was actually the 8th background mode available to programmers, since computers generally start counting at 0 as opposed to 1.

I'm glad to actually say that I beat F-Zero GX even if it's on Normal mode. Glad that the new 3ds had the original one on the VC, so I can finally play all the console ones. I'm honestly surprised that Captain Falcon made it into Smash as one of the original 12.
I'm glad that the whole Star Fox racing game rumor wasn't true. I couldn't imagine a war between F-Zero and Star Fox fans. A port or enhance port of GX on the Switch will hype me up as much as Smash Ultimate and Metroid Prime 4.

Ah F-Zero, truly great sci-fi futuristic racing game, I always play it on my SNES till Gameboy Advance release (I didn’t own N64 and GameCube) and played the arcade once when I was travel to Hongkong which was a blast!

Really love the F-Zero series. I feel like this is a franchise that Nintendo needs to give more attention to. Oddly enough, a really great future racer that is a good time is the Wipeout Omega Collection for PS4. Hope Nintendo does an F-Zero along those lines one day!
Man, kids back then really got knocked around in video game commercials. Sega and Nintendo trashed family rooms and broke the bones of future child stars. Later on they just had someone yell at you.
Nowadays our instruction manuals are 4 pages long and are called Epilepsy Warnings, and our video game commercials all have so/so hip hop. All of them. Loudly. Makes even the most brotherly scene in Modern Warfare feel like just another Saturday afternoon living Fast and Furious.

An online F-Zero game with a Battle Royale style would be perfect
Great video, but I'm not in agreement that there isn't anything that could be done in a new game.
Off the top of my head, a few things they could try:
- An online mode where people can play together online on the Switch.
- An improved story mode; where I felt like was the only thing about GX that lacked. A better story and missions.
- Incorporating weapons, similar to Extreme G, make the game even more chaotic, make it optional if it isn't recieved well.
- A multiplayer battle mode; could be similar to Mario Kart or more related to the Death Race on F-Zero X.
- A track editor for the U.S. since we missed out on it the first time.
- More customization options for the characters and ships. Do what Overwatch does and give them unique outfits.
Those are just a few ideas, but surely there could be more done with it to enhance the experience. They definitely at least have the potential to. They have no reason not to at least try.
Many series have done "more of the same" countless times and still keep going strong... Besides, I see plenty of possibilities for a racing game like this. New tracks with new mechanics (gravity, jump tricks, kills, boosts, etc... maybe even a mode with weapons if done right), awesome new soundtrack that change the tone depending on the track segments, new racers and options for customizing the vehicles, a more detailed story with the characters, championchips and planets backgrounds, online modes, multiplayer modes, all-new story mode (maybe with branching paths) including some cameos, perhaps even more speed. I don't know if all those possibilities could work, but there's definitely potential here to be explored.
The game has great potential for a sequel. Expanded story, updated art style, track editor, online play. Nintendo just need to be brave
F-Zero GX is one of my all time favorites. Good luck finding an AX cabinet though. I'd love an HD port to switch, online play, all features intact and working, extra content. Maybe an F-Zero anthologies and include everything (lost SNES and 64DD expansions even) with online play. Any new game would seem sub par, especially with DLC and such considering how much content GX had in one purchase. Fingers crossed they go all out but I'd be happy to play all the games on the go and online/local wireless.
One thing that I would like to see with the next Fzero yes besides the ability to make your own cars and customize the cars is to release it with a track and order all the Mario maker kind of thing and then also give us online play

Shin'en should make the next f-zero. Their fast racing neo was good. Wasn't f-zero but pretty dam good enough to be one. I think they can do the series justice. This is my first comment on TH-cam ever and this video made me a follower. F-zero is my favorite series, it created great memories with my friends and was the first game I bought with my own money when I started working.
